Durant signs with Warriors

Nobody is going to beat last years record for quite some time. It took forever for GS to beat the Bulls record. All they need to do is win the West and get to the Finals. Everything else will fall into place. The fact is Cleveland was fortunate to have a couple of balls bounce their way during the finals. Being down 3-1 was and is still the kiss of death. A suspension here, a key injury there and low and behold you have the greatest comeback ever. Yeah, I know a lot of Cav fans don't want to hear that shit but isn't in the truth? There's a reason why it's only happened in NBA history once. All those variables are what made it possible. Shit happens. However, there is a such thing as synergy in basketball and it'll be interesting to see if this actually works. Nothing is a given.

Why wouldn't it? It's the same team only stronger. People are expecting great things. I'm not disagreeing but what you nor Jay-Vill seem to want to come to terms with is it's ring chasing, probably the best example of it in sports history

He left to go to a winning organization.

Isn't that the definition of chasing a ring or did I miss something? It's like you're saying it without wanting to flat out say it

I just want to see who is going to be the players who sacrifices their stats for the benefit of the team winning... I know Curry is going to shoot when he is hot, so he is going to take the same amount of shots, Green is still going to be the pick and roll guy (he is still the best passer on the club) so he will still take the same amount of shots, Thompson is still going to be that guy running off of screens and like Curry shoots when he is hot...
The big question is, will Durant be good with 11 shots per game if not will the others be ok with them changing their system that was so successful to boost Durant shots...
This could be much worse than what Kevin Love and Chris Bosh had to go through..
They will see for sure

Let them loose a couple of games and the outside noise come in.
Different ball game then
Wait till Ayesha tweets about Durant not passing when she thinks he should
Wait till they make up false stories to start drama
Wait till they go back to OKC and Durant gets booed every touch and tries to do too much
I don't envy them at all.
Lived through it down here

None of them impress me as the type of player that gives a damn about stats and "perception". That's part of their strength as a team and they're actually despised for it. I do think you made an interesting point earlier though when it comes to money. People cheering about today when they will most likely be crying tomorrow. There ain't no way in the world, even with the cap changing, that they can afford to keep Curry, Thompson, Green and Durant without sacrificing KEY bench players. The bench was and is key to their overall success. You may get Durant but it's the bench that will sink them.
Mostly every great team I know has no more than two great superstars, usually one great specialist and great roll players..
Superstars usually make roll players play better and roll payers make super stars play like the stars they are, even with the show time Lakers there was only two great superstars Kareem and Magic, the rest of the players including the great Worthy were forced to give up their greatness in order for that team to be great...
The Bulls had two superstars Jordan, Pippen, with Roodman the specialist super roll player.. You can go on and on year to year and see the same format repeating itself...
But in this day and age of video game basketball and fantasy sports, folks like to project numbers not based off the shots available but based off the shots available when they played on a team that allowed them to shoot at will..
The big fact that scares me most about Durant is that when he is not scoring big he isn't doing shit on the court, if that weren't the case there is no way they would have lost three strait the way they did..

But it was still three people on a team that didn't win shit that year.... Not him going on a team that had the best all time record...
With a coach of the year
Fresh off a championship and a Finals appearance
People that say it's the same are the same ones tortured that LeBron won this year

Those records are damn near impossible to touch. You need the perfect storm to even come close. As far as ring chasing? No one is discounting the move. What we're saying though is that folks are NOT looking at the obvious. Based on the playoffs it's clear OKC was close as hell to dethroning the GSW. If anything it showed that those two teams would be battling for the Western Conference and GSW winning was no longer a given. However, you can't trade a KEY piece to that team and still think you're actually going to COMPETE with GSW. That ain't going to happen. They have the personnel and the synergy to get in that ass. Yes, I agree with you. He's going for a ring. No, I don't think it was the only reason. Up until the Ibaka trade I would say he believed they were close enough to roll the dice again. After the trade? Not so much.

All I can say is that Durant made his bed he is going to have to sleep on, because it will never be his team... He will never get the MVP's chants, not with Curry, Thompson and Green there...
He will never be mentioned for mvp again, not unless he puts up some unreal numbers, something I seriously doubt with Curry and Thompson healthy...
If they lose anything its going to be hell on high water with him at the bullseye.. If they fail to win it all its going to be a 100 times worse than the Heat losing to the Mavs, a hundred times worse than the dream team Lakers losing to the Piston, they will be the laughing stock of the NBA for years with Durant being the punch line...
But if they lose folks will say so what, matter fact folks will be saying they should have lost last year when the CAvs was injured and they know it also thats why they went out and got Durant..
But the big problem with this move will occur when Curry starts demanding to get paid like the superstar he is... If the Warriors were smart they would have adjusted his salary now rather than later, because once his wife starts noticing everyone on the squad is getting broke off and how the management went out of their way to take care of everyone's business except his, well that situation can get really messy really fast..
that contract that curry signed when he was worried about his ankles were the best thing ever for the warriors franchise. gonna be interesting to see how these egos mesh. especially klay and draymond. i mean you were the man, had your own team. now you just going to be a piece. just glad i didnt buy me a kd jersey about a month ago. i'm a big okc fan and liked watching the warriors play but i cant ride with this shit

We all know why Curry signed that contract, but the Warriors would have been much better off taking care of their own, before looking for another savior to right the ship...

What is the mod like with Thunder Nation?
How do they feel about Durant?

How will this affect the Warriros style of play now? Does Durant expect to get a certain amount of touches? Or does he prefer being a role player they can dish to when he gets good looks at the basket?

I'm hoping it's the latter.

I don't consider them "super" stars. Stars yes, "super" stars not so much. Why? Lebron is a SUPER star. No one on GSW is officiated and given the kind of consideration he gets. He gets Jordan consideration. Kobe consideration. That's the difference between SUPER stars and stars. My opinion of course. I think the logic behind there is one ball is a valid one. However, Jordan's philosophy on scoring was 8,8,8,8. The points come (depending on your skills) without the need for twenty plus shots a game. Personally I see Curry and Thompson having a field day. Imagine what would have happened if Cleveland opted to guard Curry one on one versus doubling and triple teaming him the whole series? With that addition of Durant you can't do that....It's still an experiment though....

What is the thought behind your logic???????

KD with curry klay and draymond is allot of fire power on one squad, seeing that if healthy cleveland will most likely end up in the finals again seeing that GS is now even a more super power and they will most likely be there again we have to get better somehow and Love is the only thing we can use to acquire players to get better if not wade being that he feels unloved by miami right now then someone else

Everybody comparing Lebron to KD. First off Lebron asked Cleveland to get him some help. They didn't do that that's why he left. OKC was stacked to take on any team in the league. Its their fault they lost to Golden State. They were up 3 to 1 and they blew it. OKC even went out to get more scoring. KD left Westbrook ... Lebron left nobody hanging. Can't compare the two.

His game will most likely soar. Far better, easier shots. Ain't no way you're going to key on him with shooters like Thompson and Curry on the court.

There is no increased money next year....the increased money is NOW, THIS YEAR.
What sense would it have made to sign a one-year deal to come back and then leave?
He actually took less money to go to GSW and signed a two-year deal because that's all GSW could afford to pay.

He was <this close> to the finals and should have been there but Westbrook has one year remaining...Sign for one year and try it one last time

and there is more money next year when the salary caps increase ..

Fam had a tough choice. Stay and fight it out, maybe miss out on a ring and if they got one he'd be a fucking OKC Legend... Or go to GSW and have that lil asterisk and people debating him forever. I'm not mad at the brother, I'm a simply calling it as I see it

Shit, Lebron did it with th e Heat, and the league blocked Cris Paul to Lakers trade so its all fair in love and basketball. Don't know why everyone so mad

Warriors world Champs 2017 2018 2019

Where is the "world" coming from? I'm not attacking you, I'm just amazed we still use this title when we're the only ones playing it. I see soccer champs as World champions, not a game played in the US.

Durant will be fine

Simply because that offense will be built around him and steph

Klay, Draymond and everyone else will get in where they fit in....its simple

I get what you're saying. Not disagreeing. Just saying every championship either has an asterisk or has the potential to have one. Nine years is enough. It's a career for most players.

That's what I'm thinking they'll be threats on all corners of the court.

Hope this works out for the Warriors.

Shumpert,Love, to the Clipps for CP3 or Blake could that work Lebron needs to hit the panic button to defend his throne right now

Look, OKC let Harding go, he wanted Horford, they didn't get him. They fired Scott brooks. He don't want more of that shit. He also said he wants to get into Computers. What better place than here. Not to mention we about to get a new billion dollar arena across the bridge in San Francisco. OKC is a wack ass place to live also. Even for a a few months. Durant is friends with Iggy and Draymond. They go to church and shit together. This is a win. Also fuck Stephen A Bitch with his tantrums talking shit. Hate that nigga.
