Durant signs with Warriors

LOL nigga you just going to lie right in your face huh?

Wade already had a ring somehow by never going to the playoffs lmao

im out

and i don't think its the same or comparable to lebron's for the record
but you can't just make shit up lol verifiable facts
Sorry for a team that didn't make it to the playoffs, I really was going to type a lottery pick team..

Don't comment to much on pro sports topics, but this shit really surprised me. Did he really see no way forward in OKC? It's not like he was a one man show in an organization that wasn't well run (like LBJ in Cleveland).

I guess that pressure to win a ring trumps everything. No one wants to take the "Best player to never win a ring" honor from Charles Barkley

Yeah Bruh... Niggas are fucking annoying as hell always whining and bitching CAC this CAC that every time a brother makes a decision. It's like Dudes can't comprehend or think for themselves, but just Parrot nonsense they've heard constantly... Pathetic :smh:

This entire 'pro sports players as slaves' shit is some of the dumbest shit ever. It's an extremist position, and extremists are usually out of touch with reality. If you think anything about some cacs when KD makes this announcement, you might need therapy. :smh:

When I heard about KD's choice, first thing came to mind is he bitched out, but if that's what makes him happy, glad he did him. If this blows up in his face, he'll never live this down.

Dennis Rodman was part of that Pistons team. He joined the Bulls later. He won THREE championships and made more money than he ever made in Detroit. He was a better Bull than he was a Piston.

thanks...was about to bring this up...and rodman joining the bulls was a HUGE deal too @ the time

He shouldn't. That is unless you feel it's okay for a young, Black man (millionaire) to NOT want to play in a bigger market and nicer place. He gave them nine years. Just when they were close to being the favorites for the West the team trades Ibaka? And they did that shit EARLY. Why would they trade him so early KNOWING they had to resign Durant?
I don't want him to get the hate. I had much respect for KD until this AM. I still got love for him. I just think that if people considered Bron going to Miami weak, this has to be even weaker.
I just want to see if there is consistency or if Lebron is "damned if you do, damned if you don't"

I was at those games. It was an insane time. People in Chicago were skeptical as hell when they Bulls signed him. They weren't as forgiving about all those years of him being "Rodman" against the Bulls. It's possible for players to shed their skin, join another team and become what they were always meant to be. Dennis did that in Chicago. KD? It will be interesting to see how he fits in this system. Personally I think the deciding factor (no one knows what he and Westbrook discussed) was the conversation with Jerry West. When West told him about all the NBA final losses and how he's still haunted by them it may have shook him.....

I prefer to not mention LeBron's situation because they are not the same. LeBron was home grown. LeBron would have continued to get to the NBA Finals had he stayed in Cleveland. Would he have won? Nobody knows to because we weren't given the opportunity to see if he could do it. I don't fault any young, Black, rich man for bolting from Cleveland for Miami. Shit. Really? That ain't even a choice. However, you can't possibly fault Durant for leaving when he's already given them nine years and just when he takes GS to game seven and is poised to become "the" team out West you trade the third best player on the team. That's the difference.....

I'm just not sure how this is going to work from a purely basketball/schematic standpoint.

I was looking forward to seeing what Donovan did with a year under his belt.

Westbrook is def gone. They need to try and trade him ASAP and get something in return.

I hope this helps his game. As long as he can stay healthy and keep his feet from getting more fucked up he should do some good with the Warriors.

When LeBron got there, they were a shell of the team that won anything...

Lebron didn't go there alone. Unlike Durant he colluded with Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and Pat Riley to put that shit together. The Heat were actually penalized for it. So I'm going to have to say Durant choosing to go another team, especially after HIS team was torn apart (Ibaka) isn't exactly the same thing.

I'd take CA over OK all day. (lol) That's cool. They TRADED Ibaka. Why would he, or anyone else for that matter, think he's CLOSER to a ring there now that he's gone? If a RING is what you want, wouldn't you view this decision by management as a huge step back?
I agree with you

I just didn't hear all this when LeBron went to Miami
As a matter of fact, the press used Durant as an example of what a player is supposed to do when LeBron made his decision.

Watch how they change their tune now.

I just want to see who is going to be the players who sacrifices their stats for the benefit of the team winning... I know Curry is going to shoot when he is hot, so he is going to take the same amount of shots, Green is still going to be the pick and roll guy (he is still the best passer on the club) so he will still take the same amount of shots, Thompson is still going to be that guy running off of screens and like Curry shoots when he is hot...
The big question is, will Durant be good with 11 shots per game if not will the others be ok with them changing their system that was so successful to boost Durant shots...
This could be much worse than what Kevin Love and Chris Bosh had to go through..

But it was still three people on a team that didn't win shit that year.... Not him going on a team that had the best all time record...

None of them impress me as the type of player that gives a damn about stats and "perception". That's part of their strength as a team and they're actually despised for it. I do think you made an interesting point earlier though when it comes to money. People cheering about today when they will most likely be crying tomorrow. There ain't no way in the world, even with the cap changing, that they can afford to keep Curry, Thompson, Green and Durant without sacrificing KEY bench players. The bench was and is key to their overall success. You may get Durant but it's the bench that will sink them.

Don't get me wrong, I see what you're saying. However, you can't under any circumstance equate what he's doing with what LeBron did because all he did was change zip codes to a team that in my eyes was comparable to his existing team PRIOR to OKC management changing that....

Because this opportunity has never happened before. All this occurred because of the luxury cap and the CBA. The players have more power than ever before and people are losing their minds because they have the audacity to flex that power.

What do you mean the opportunity was not there before?

Kobe, A.I., Duncan .... all the stars who came in in the late-90s could have done the SAME THING. They didn't. Its like a video game having difficulty levels, bro'. Some people don't have a problem winning with the game on easy. People who think like they do will obviously not have an issue with it. Just teaming up with the best superstars you can at that time does not make you a great winner.

This, to me, is a weak move.

But, like I said, I accept the reality that other people don't care how a ring is won as long as its won.

Youre wrong.
