Charles Barkley: LeBron James will never be a top-five NBA great

@KingTaharqa Come get your boy :smh:
People don't want to admit it tho

When you break down Lebron's game, what does he do well?

3pt shooting - not a good shooter from behind the arc.

Catch and shoot- not a good catch and shoot player

Mid range jumper - has never developed a mid range game

inside Post moves - is not a good post player

Playing off the ball - he still struggles when asked to do this

Lebron mainly scores off bulldozing to the rim, put backs off rebounds, lob passes and occasional outside shooting.

What he is tho is a great passer, has a good bball IQ and very good defensively. But a skillfull player he has never been

Pace is a product of players not being that good and dumb coaches..Westbrook isn't even as skilled as bird let alone big o..understanding the difference between athletics talents and skills goes along way..these players are athletic like no other but their skills are well below what they should be

Wait, so what about the 'showtime' lakers? So the players in the 80s weren't as skilled as the players in the early 60s(we know they were more athletic)? Bruh, you do know racial quotas during Oscar's peak season kept talent OUT of the league, don't you? Talent kept out AND and inflated pace? Come on man. Shit on todays era. I get it. It's cool, but let's pace adjust the 80s numbers.

http://fivethirtyeight.com/features...st-triple-double-machine-in-recorded-history/

Magic has 4 triple double seasons with pace adjustment. Please don't say the 60s were more skilled than the 80s. Please don't go there. Please. Seriously. Don't do it. Have you even watched the 60s film? Jesus fucking christ it's hard on the eyes.

60-80s players are way more skilled then players today; and if you going to adjust numbers like that, ok cool; then there shouldnt be no argument from you are others about stephs #s this year, in regards to his mvp; his adjusted numbers are more impressive than any nba player in like the last 15years, actually longer...

http://www.businessinsider.com/awesome-stephen-curry-is-awesome-2016-2

And whether you adjust pace or not, if you have been watching basketball since the 70s or 80s; you would never say that todays nba player is more skilled then those players back in the day; And lets take it a step further; What would LBJ do in steph body:hmm:; meaning put his skill set in steph body and what he do??? Now put stephs skill set in LBJ body, and what would he do:hmm:.....

60 players were not more skilled in general. Watch the film. Watch Russell's offense. Watch how they shot. The wing play was terrible an sloppy as shit. Players dribbled with one fucking hand. We are talking QUOTA era. Before Red had faith in black players, white folks said 'black' ball was unskilled. :hmm: They created the fucking myth that cacs had more skills. More fundamentals. Here we are in 2016 keeping that myth alive.

Those other arguments of your are for another time. I just wanted to kill that Oscar Robertson and Russell( although you don't argue for him) BS.

Simple equation: Pace + Quota = Inferior Ball

Those are facts. I've proven the pace part, and the quota part is a well-know fact even RUSSELL addressed.

It was 60-80s, dont just cherry pick on 60s; Now we are only talking about greats I thought; Show me a guard thats considered great right now that is more skilled then the Big O; There are average players in every area; Plenty of players right now that cant shoot, dribble or pass; so thats stupid as well; There was no Russell Big O BS; simple fact is no one has done it; now like I said before, if you wanna start going to "pace" numbers then thats cools; shut the fuck up about Curry and his numbers, because there is no comparison then...anybody can make #s look they way they want; so again like I said, dont use those pace numbers to prove your point, then talk shit about other points that make Currys numbers look astronomical...shit is retarded....

If averaging a triple double was the goal of every player then he would be at the top of the list... But if Jordan was to average a triple double for three years and not win shit, those years would not be close to the highlight of his career...
Please don't compare Oscar to jordan

Man look how soft the game was back in the 60's plus they was slow as shit and couldn't shoot worth a shit...
Too many white boys in the game back then, so all stats have to be taken with a grain of salt!!!

To think this was two of the better teams in 1967

LeBron is great, but he can't shoot, can't post and takes far too many breaks on defense. Draymond got him for 34 and 10.

Kareem, Magic, Jordan, Tim, Russell, Wilt in any order are still above LeBron on skill/all around players.

Folks forget about Tim, just because he is quiet.

I just don't see how LeBron could be seen better than Duncan or Wilt. The other four will NEVER be moved off the mountain

Check the vid RR posted. Matter of fact, check more videos from the 60s. Shit is just :smh: Big O didn't have wing comp. Period.

Plenty of players in the 60s couldn't shoot, dribble, or pass. Go look at film. Stop trying to throw the quota era in with the 80s. If you are going to argue for Curry and pace, than LBJ is up there too and he has don't it FOR YEARS. Curry would be insane with the 60s pace. And please don't have him play against those players.

Did you see how slow the closeouts were in the 60s? It's like they played in quicksand. Cats pounding the ball with one hand and moving slow as fuck. Damn. You see Bill try to play offense? He was 6'9" and long and couldn't shoot a good percentage. Shit makes you cringe like watching TT play offense.

Ducan is a great system player who inherited a team that was great before he got there and will be great still after he is gone... To be top five you have to have a combonation of team accomplishments, own personal hardware and stats...
Ducan has 2 MVP's and 3 finals MVP very good but was never considered the greatest player in his era and never had those killer stats...
In comparison LeBron already have 4 MVP's, 3 finals MVP's was the best player in his era, by far and could wind up as the top three scorer, top three assist and one of the top re-bounders... Make no mistake about it LeBron is on his way to being the all time great...

I try not to compare the eras anymore... but considering how few black players there were in the 60s.. it's like segregated baseball to me. Most NBA teams in the 60s had 3-4 black players max.

When you do a top 10 list from the 50s.. 8 of them are white.

Don't kill the messenger, just check the video and tell me some of those chicks in the WNBA could'nt get in with work back then...

I'm saying that clip looked like Intellivision. I don't know if you're old enough to have played that shit..but it was slow as stick men.. that was in the advent gaming.

Thats my point on how watered down that shit was, enough that I take those records back then with a grain of salt..

Ok caught my lacking, but yeah they look like robots especially them white boys...

This is crazy. Duncan was the anchor of championship teams that spanned 3 decades and widely considered the greatest PF of all time.

I will give him that title and easily top ten, but that top five spot, in my book take a little bit more... Put it this way, think of your greatest Tim Duncan moment and tell me what you come up with....

You see how they were moving around. You got Wilt out there shooting free throws underhanded.. PGs who cant use their off hands.. man.. look at the exchange at the 1:00 mark.. that was an easy trap and dude even think about trapping right there. This shit shit looks like a different sport... (they were hitting those mid-range shots though)

The air balls and those klunks had me dying, and not one dunk...
I know it was different era but got damn them boys looked SAWFT as shit!

Running up the court dribbling hard as fuck with one hand and their heads down. That shit looks like when I'm in a third world country and you see a court with people who just learned how to play as adults

Yeah. You also know the history of the game. How did white people refer to above the rim play? Russell spoke of quotas. Red from the Celtics is the first one to really take the risk with black players and look what that led to. What year was the first all-black starting five for major college hoops? Think about high school? How many wing players who weren't giants didn't get a chance?

Baseball and football were also fucked up. That's why we say Ruth and them should have an * next to their records. But cats keep talking about a blatantly racist era. All those players were pioneers. Deserve their respect. My questions is how many black players didn't make it for the quota...

Duncan is the best power forward PERIOD. it's debatable that Bron is the best Small Forward vs Bird. Folks hate Bird because he was white, but the passing, shooting , and rebounding were all more dominant than LeBron on paper.

Now skill vs skill Duncan was not as exciting, but his game is far more complete on BOTH ends of the court vs LeBron.

LeBron is special, but at the best of the best you can't overlook LeBron's major shooting deficiencies

IMO Duncan is the best of his era...his only competition was Kobe, and I think that Duncan was just far more consistent ( he very had those down years like Kobe did), and his skill set was far more efficient and he played better defense
