Soccer: Copa America Centenario Final Match (Who U Got?)

I think it's time for this meme.....

Yeah, as I've watched America play over the years, we just don't have that hyper accurate crispness to our ball movement that you see from the elite clubs. I agree that it's something to where you have to grow up with the ball in your crib. You develop a touch from kicking that ball around as a young child, that can never be reclaimed once that initial window is closed. Just as young kids brains can soak up sooo much information at a young age(it's easier to learn multiple languages, learn an instrument(s), etc), I believe the same applies to certain motor skills.

Spot on bro. These internationally players live and breathe soccer. The U.S. players picked the sport up around 10-13 years while learning to play 3 other sports.

But holup

The Women team won one World Cup for sure maybe 2. Its the Mens team getting drug around the world

Yedlin and Pulisic are trying. I feel for em.. They both have that "you the only one I trust out here"
look in their eyes.

Sure, the Women's Team has won a lot more than the Men. The rest of the world place more in the Men's play than the women but in America, The opposite is the case(IMO)
Which again, I think causes some kind of complacency in the minds of most that the US is very good at "Soccer". Flying on the Coat-tails of the Women's success.
My $0.02

Yea correct. The women only thrived because of their access and exposure to the game having colleges and universities breed some great talent. But once the world caught up to them, it was a level playing field ie. German & Japanese women.

Mufuckas dancing in middle field while they can't push the ball forward.. Lol

WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG

I am going to sit back and wait for tomorrow's game to watch 2 of my boys Ospina's Colombia and Alexis' Chile play some good Football.
Hoping Chile go on to do the deed on Messi and his Boys in the end.
I'll even take Colombia over Argentina.

Better to take an L like that against Argentina I suppose.

There were some silver linings out there tonight:

1) Bradley can exit.. That's enough of him

2) Yedlin, Brooks and Pulisic have a future here

3) Howard needs to get his old ass up and put to work

4) We need a competent forward

I'm hoping Chile make it to the final against Argentina. I want revenge for that BS Copa America last time around.

Here's what you have to take into perspective when comes to women's sports period and the U.S. versus the rest of the world. The U.S. is a very progressive country, probably the most progressive when it comes to sports. Also sports is promoted at every turn in this country, which a major reason why we have a large pool of women the play sports. I would argue we probably have in sheer numbers, more women involved in sports than any other country. Soccer has also been seen as some what of woman's sport in this country, so women begin playing it very early.

U.S. Women soccer players grew up eating, breathing, playing soccer. It's been their only sport for the last 25 yrs.

The problem with the men's side is alot of players who would be IDEAL for the sport still try their hand at football and basketball even though they 5'5"-5'10" hoping to get a college scholarship for sports. And even then, many of them never played competitive soccer as a kid.

In order for the game to become huge to the common kid, the USMNT has to win and the MLS has to become a premier first class league. Right now the MLS is awful to watch.

...and the Commentaries are awful as well. With all due respect, I think the (average) American commentator tries too hard to impress the average listener. In so doing, they ignore the language
of the game and run the commentaries as if one is watching any of the "Big Sports". That makes the game and the action on the field not co-ordinate and un-relatable. Hence making it boring to watch. If I understood or spoke Spanish, I would have been watching This Copa America Tournament on a Spanish Channel

I was at the game. ARG was putting on a clinic and playing with them. On this one throw in, I think it was Lavezzi act like he was going to throw it down the line and Yedli made a motion to run after the ball. Thing was, there was no one there. Lavezzi started laughing.

USA just played sloppy the entire game. There was no urgency to the ball, no one moved to open spaces and first touch were terrible.

I still watch big events in Spanish. Shit is more fun that way. Understanding what they saying be damned.

When I'm alone, I watch the shit in Spanish as well. I only watch in English for those around me who don't speak or understand Spanish, but the analysis and tactual breakdowns are on point.

Niggas really gonna replay the USA/Argentina game while theres a weather delay for Chile and Columbia

I'm going to bed
