The Blindside part 2 - kelly ripa refuses to go work this morning

Id like to know what SHE was getting paid versus what Michael was getting paid.

If the shit was not equal fuck professionalism, get yours.

Also, didnt she pretty much take the show from Revis, after he put her on??
Kelly Ripa = $20 million per year and only 1 job
Michael Strahan = $10 million per year with part time jobs at Good Morning America & Fox NFL Sunday

Like someone said before, Mike's gotta eat. And at the end of the day, he has to look out for his best interests. Ripa can throw a tantrum all she wants, but if Mike runs up on hard luck, is she going to pay his bills? Dude has to cement his career and to cohost GMA may be a serious upgrade $$ wise.

I still don't get the coon comment though...
Coon is the most misused word ever. Motherfuckas need to talk to Willie D about what a coon is

A lot of people seem to think she's mad because he's leaving. But from watching TMZ.. They're saying the two dislike each other and have for a while
So maybe she's made about not be notified properly or some silly shit.

How much money does Michael Strahan make a year?

Michael brings in the big bucks from his estimated $20-million-plus yearly salary hosting TV shows like LIVE with Kelly and Michael, Good Morning America and Fox NFL Sunday, along with the millions he made in his 15 years with the New York Giants.

see the difference...

A pretty white woman with a highschool diploma can make 20 million a year and be worth 100 million..just being pretty and acting and not even great acting.

A black man with a college degree had to do a job that risked brain damage PLUS work 4 ADDITIONAL jobs after to equal her yearly salary.

That was my point from jump.

Then they talk that equal pay shit

you guys assuming this is all a damn mandingo tale sound worse than old white men.

I'll see you in the next thread accusing others of being coons.

Couldn't just be a Black man making business moves huh?

I like how she backed them into a corner by announcing that ABC execs said Live! was a priority for the network. Now if they start talking about a third hour for GMA its going to be HUGE stink..

@alexw was right.

geechiedan is the Richard Simmons of BGOL

:smh:
don't play down to the stereotype of the ignorant ****** (yes with the er..old school..because only a dumb ****** would think some dumb shit like that..looking at you too alexw) its a bad look homie

for the uneducated:

sa·la·cious
səˈlāSHəs
adjective
(of writing, pictures, or talk) treating sexual matters in an indecent way and typically conveying undue interest in or enjoyment of the subject.
"salacious stories"
synonyms: pornographic, obscene, indecent, crude, lewd, vulgar, dirty, filthy;

lustful; lecherous.

public school education...damn shame :smh::smh::smh:

Kelly Ripa Addresses Strahan Controversy on Live! As Peace Returns to Mornings Across America

26-kelly-ripa-live.w529.h529.jpg

After spending several days away from her rightful coffee-stained throne, queen of the morning Kelly Ripa returned to Live! this morning. Did she launch into a Network-style tirade against the media industry? No. Did she address her absence with remarkable composure and a few wry jokes? Yes, of course. "Our long national nightmare is over," Ripa said, walking on stage with her soon-to-be former co-star Michael Strahan, who allegedly made plans to leave the show without telling her. "I'm going to be completely honest. I'm fairly certain that there are trained professional snipers with tranquilizer darts in case I drift too far off message," Ripa said. "I needed a couple of days to gather my thoughts" after spending 26 years with ABC, adding, "I earned the right."

One of Ripa's primary concerns, according to reporting from the New YorkTimes, was that ABC had started to prioritize Good Morning America, which Strahan is joining, over Live! Ripa said that her extended absence was part of a "much greater conversation" about respect in the workplace, and noted that "apologies have been made, and the best thing to come out of all of this, you guys, is that our parent company has assured me thatLive! is a priority." She threw in some congratulations for Strahan before starting the show, pausing briefly to note, "My dad, who was a bus driver for 30 years, thinks we're all crazy, and I think he's right."

Strahan, for his part, called Ripa the "queen of morning television" and promised "if you need me, I'm coming back to help out." But it seems Kelly Ripa needs no help at all.

But naturally, the biggest point of discussion during the ceremony was the fact that Live with Kelly and Michael stars Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan took home a joint win for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host just a week after being at the center of serious drama surrounding Strahan’s move to Good Morning America. Neither were on hand to accept the award of course, but Dr. Oz, who presented the award, accepted on their behalf and joked that they’d share custody.

UPDATE with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan reaction: Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan this morning walked out on stage each carrying an Emmy statuette, answering last night’s most pressing Daytime Emmy Awardsquestion: “How will Kelly and Michael divide that Emmy?”

While there has been a lot on which they have disagreed in the past couple weeks, the Live With Kelly And Michael hosts were in perfect sync this morning as they told viewers they had not been aware the Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony was happening over the weekend. That is, until congratulatory emails began to arrive. At last night’s ceremony, they were named best Daytime Talk Entertainment Show host.

Because the ceremony has moved to Los Angeles, they explained, they cannot attend. On the bright side, Ripa reminisced that when it used to be held in New York, it could be pretty uncomfortable having the cameras on her all those years she was nominated for various roles in daytime TV but did not win. But, of course, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has remedied that situation – this year’s trophy show was not broadcast, or live-streamed.

Ripa and Strahan thanked the crew and execs behind their syndicated show for making their win possible.

unless she's negotiating the multi million dollar deal, why tha fuk should he tell her anything? that's between him, his manager, lawyer and the company. she didn't give him that job. she didn't put that paycheck into his bank account. she was a host and it was in her best interest to try and gel with dude the best way possible to make the show work. dudes in here sounding like he owed her cause he worked on the same show she did. fuk that. you make the announcement when you want to make it.

Good Lord...this is some unmitigated bullshit...

PLEASE make sure to bring this up whenever they talk about a Black athlete or celebrity lacking professionalism or to just get over it or about contractual obligations.

Kella Ripa Explains Why She Basically Made Michael Strahan Leave Live Early

The countdown to Michael Strahan'sLive departure has just two days left, but if Strahan had his way, he'd still have four more months of awkwardness to go. Not on Kelly's watch! We already know his exit was moved up to earlier than expected, and now thanks to Kelly's willingness to keep it 100, we know why. You're damn right she was behind it: Ripa tells People that she and her staff needed Strahan to vacate his chair ASAP so they could start looking for his replacement. Essentially, ABC blindsiding her with the news left her no choice but to act fast:

"What we've explained to them is, 'Well, if you had asked us, we would have told you, guys, we need to start looking, because we have summer hiatus, we have vacation time. We need to find people. If we're going to have this list narrowed down at least to a manageable size by the fall, we need to start now.' Nobody consulted us initially."

Until they find someone capable of feigning "chemistry and camaraderie," Ripa will get to have fun testing out Jimmy Kimmel, Jussie Smollett, Cedric the Entertainer, David Muir, Daniel Dae Kim, and no doubt a few more handsome dudes. In the meantime, Strahan gets to enjoy the stinging sensation of Ripa's rumored ice-cold shoulder forever — because, at the end of the day, all she says she wanted was a little "assurance that we're all going to be fine." Ugh, same, Kelly, same.

Regis Philbin: I haven't seen Kelly Ripa since our show ended in 2011

Reigs Philbin and Kelly Ripa seemed seriously close when they worked together on “Live with Regis and Kelly,” but Philbin revealed the two haven’t seen each other since the talk show wrapped in Nov. 2011.

During an interview last week with Hoda Kotb for Sirius XM radio, Philbin answered Kotb’s questions about his former cohost.

“I haven’t seen her, I don’t see her,” Philbin said. “She lived downtown, and now I hear she’s on the East Side and, uh, you know.”

The former “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” host indicated there was no bad-blood between him and Ripa, but he did dish that he was at ABC recently and still did not interact with her.

“I was over there yesterday [at ABC] as a matter of fact to do something for them,” Philbin said. “No, I don’t see [Ripa.]”

So has Philbin similarly drifted with his cohost before Ripa, Kathie Lee Gifford? Not at all.

“[Gifford] lives in Greenwich and I’m a weekend guy there, so I do see a lot of her,” he said.

Once You Go Black: Regis Philbin, Kelly Ripa haven't spoken since 2011

Expect a snowstorm for Michael Strahan's last day on 'Live'-- that's how frigid things are right now with Kelly Ripa, and there's one obvious sign every morning.

Sources connected to production tell us prior to Kelly's protest a few weeks ago, she would sit in her makeup room with the door open and Michael would greet her as he arrived ... but that's all changed.

We're told Kelly's door is shut every morning ... delaying any "good morning" salutations, and Strahan believes she's sending a clear message. Although they're putting on a good face on the air -- we're told the tension between them is palpable.

As for Strahan's last show, airing this Friday, we're told he's asked for it to be low key. One source says Michael would be happy with "a few flashback" segments and he just wants out of what's become an unfriendly environment.

Kelly Ripa Opens Up About What Really Happened with Michael Strahan: 'People Deserve Respect'

Kelly Ripa is opening up in this exclusive interview on how she really feels about Michael Strahan's departure from Live! – and what's next for her. Subscribe now for her side of the story, only in PEOPLE!

Michael Strahan will depart from Live! With Kelly and Michael after under four years on Friday, and co-host Kelly Ripa is "excited" for the soon-to-beGood Morning America star – despite how the news of Strahan's departure played out in the last few weeks.

Ripa exclusively opens up to PEOPLE for this week's cover story about why she decided to take a stand for herself after being blindsided by the announcement that Strahan was moving on – information she learned at almost the same time as the media.

kelly-ripa-c-1024.jpg

"There's a part of me that can say, 'Okay, I understand. This may have been an oversight,' " Ripa explains of getting the information late. "And again, after 26 years, at this point we are like a family. And sometimes when you are so comfortable with somebody, you may not give them the same consideration as somebody you're not as comfortable with – a certain formality falls away."

A source
told PEOPLE in April that Ripa felt "betrayed and so hurt" by how Strahan's announcement was handled, and she later explained to the show's audience that the entire scenario highlighted the importance of "communication, consideration and, most importantly, respect in the workplace."

"I think that all people are deserving of fair treatment in the work place. People deserve respect," Ripa tells PEOPLE. "People should be treated equally and with dignity."

She continues, "I think that requires a certain amount of empathy on a level. When you're dealing with big business, it's easy to forget that you're dealing with people and that people have feelings. It's easy to just look at it like a business unit, a unit, a unit."

Despite the drama, Ripa tells PEOPLE of Strahan, ABC and
Live!: "I'm not dealing with monsters. I don't think of anybody as a monster or out to get me. But sometimes stability and dependability can be misinterpreted as passive. Like, 'Oh, we don't have to worry about her, she's fine. She's fine.' "

She continues, "And I am fine, but I need assurances that we're all going to be fine."

Kelly Ripa on the cover of PEOPLE

The 45-year-old mom of three is also explaining why she skipped Live! the day after Strahan's April announcement, jetting off on a week-long anniversary tripwith husband Mark Consuelos.

"I think what people need to understand about the entire situation is that I didn't just not show up," she says. As she was being informed of Strahan's departure, "I said, in the room, 'I am going to take the day off.' I needed to actually sit and gather information. I needed to make sure I said the appropriate things on TV and didn't just come out and say whatever."

kelly-ripa-c-800.jpg

Ripa contends that she understands that "things happen," explaining, "I get it. We're excited for Michael. He wanted that job, and it's great for him. I think it is a perfect match, I really do. However, what nobody considered is there's a whole other group of people that it really impacts, because we have to now find another great person."

And finding the perfect "chemistry and camaraderie and trust" isn't easy: "It doesn't fall out of the sky. It takes a lot of work, and it takes a group discussion."

The host says that she was concerned for more than just herself, as a lot of members of the Live! "family" count on show stability for their jobs. She shares, "In that moment there were people looking at me, saying, 'Tell us this is going to be okay. Are we going to be okay?' "

Disney/ABC, which owns and syndicates Live!, has since assured Ripa of her and the show's value, assuaging any fear.

And now, with those assurances firmly in place, Ripa has reached a state of forgiveness.

"People make mistakes, and we're all human," she tells PEOPLE. "They're human and I'm human. We all have these moments, and it's about how you move forward and how you begin again."
