Unless they were a professional drag racer why the hell would the avg person be concerned with 0-60 time?

I had this same conversation 6 years ago. There are a lot of folks who tell me they love the roar of the engine. That sounds tells the story of the beast in the engine. In battles they're are the thumpers, the people who move the earth, and they're are assassins, people that get shit done without the hoopla. The tesla defeats any army of 0-60 in ... seconds enthusiast. I would be pissed too if I had to fight an enemy that was faster than myself and beating me at my own game.i feel ya. i'm just trying to understand the strong reaction to it. its not just on bgol...
dude at my barbershop was pissed off debating against the tesla. he drives a nice cls 63 so my thinking (and i could be wrong) is that some cats are a little salty that these "toys" are gonna put performance that was once only reserved for hardcore cars into family vehicles that will mostly not be driven by car enthusiasts...
could there be there any truth to this if you dig down deep into your soul for answers good brother?
this gotta be how white people feel. they are going the way of the dinosaur...
Ok, I think people are just trying to say how they feel and trying to convey that Tesla is not ready for prime time yet. Regardless of how inefficient a 700 horsepower V8 is, I really like it over a 355 hp four cylinder and damn sure like it better than an electric engine car. Some people actually enjoy driving and the mechanics involved , instead of just turning on the ignition and moving. Just like some people enjoy truly fucking instead of just for the perfunctory purpose of procreation.i feel ya. i'm just trying to understand the strong reaction to it. its not just on bgol...

There aren't many v8s any more. What roar of the engine? Those are v6s with turbos and computer acoustics.I had this same conversation 6 years ago. Like I said earlier, the Japanese has their reliability dance to fall back on. But that shit isn't to hold off the inevitable.

Correct and I will take a high powered gas 6 cylinder over some v8s.There aren't many v8s any more. What roar of the engine? Those are v6s with turbos and computer acoustics.
Yeah but it's the hardcore enthusiast who are being vocal about it, not the regular Camry drivers, so I can understand their feelings and position.we all have different wants/ needs and tesla definitely aint for hardcore auto enthusiasts, in my opinion. nothing gonna take away from that german engineering but see the part i quoted is what i'm talking about. aside from personal opinion, saying tesla isn't ready for prime time when they've clearly proven they are by
- outselling all model s competitors
- model x is gonna outsell most lux suv's
- presold 200k model 3's, $8B in revenue in 2 days
- gets best reviews of any car manuf all time
- world class sales and maintenance model
comes across as hate. this the same thing the benz guy was saying. "they not ready to compete w/ the bigboys". what? they been competing and winning for a few years now...
again there are a ton of reasons not to want 1 but the hate that tesla gets from just winning is still confusing me.
You leaving the German family breh?![]()

Not completely.
We ordered the new Q7 about a month ago for my wife and I'll probably sell my RS5 at some point but I plan to keep my M3 for the foreseeable future....
But I'm loving what Tesla is doing and I think I want that Matte Black Model 3 with Ludicrous Speed sitting in the garage with the M.
Man I don't know about the new Q7.. Kinda like the priviledge body style

Gas is so cheap right now
The question I have is, how much money are you spending towards your electric bill to charge it every week ???
Where are the numbers on that
If it costs just as much (if not more than a tank of gas), to charge it up every week...then how much are you really saving ???

Someone gets it. This shit is a hit already with over 200,ooo preorders.auto industry - audi, bmw, lexus, acura, infiniti benz & anybody trying to eat in the $30 - $50k range basically
big oil
other ev's
Can anyone tell me when the high performance models will get a very well crafted interior, 500 mile range, affordable lease rates or reasonable price well beneath a comparable gas car? I might be interested then.
And I never spent over $15k for any BMW back then.I'm sure you were buying bmw's back in early 2000s when interiors were super bland.
What's a comparable gas car to the model s in your opinion? What's a reasonable price?
500+ miles in single charge would be dope but most don't ever drive that much in a day and there's a supercharger network for the ones that do.
You know for a fact that nobody on this board can answer any of this but it's a very cool angle to send more shots from. I do salute the effort.
So, in short, the master plan is:
Don't tell anyone.
- Build sports car
- Use that money to build an affordable car
- Use that money to build an even more affordable car
- While doing above, also provide zero emission electric power generation options
The above is from a 2006 blog post on TeslaMotors.com. Worked the fuck out of what probably seemed like a nutty ass plan a decade ago. Elon a bad mf.
And I never spent over $15k for any BMW back then.
Again, when will they build a car with a comparable interior to the Lexus or s class for what it really cost to build an electric car, which isn't much?
As for range, I do travel more than 200 miles some days since I practice all over Georgia, so range is important to me.

Lol, I'm actually getting 18.9mpg. The 535 was doing 21.5 on the same route.Breh go cop you a used Prius... Them 560 horses gonna run your tank dry after 150 miles![]()

No, normal driving. I drive 65 miles a day. 70 percent highway.18mpg?that's actually not bad considering.. You keep it under 65mph?

My 370 mile highway trip from NC got 23mpg and I was doing 70-90mph and using the dct. Amazing engine.
Let me know what they say. If they're asking $52, give them $49k. They have a bulletproof engine. No major complaints on the M boards except for steering vibration and squeaking brakes. Nothing to be scared of.I found a nice one in Vegas... $52k with 37k on the clock.. Gonna call them up tomorrow and see what's up. Id go there and drive that shit back home

Yeah but with maintenance warranty , they have to use OEM. I will stay on them until they fix it. I noticed the squeal on mine for the first time yesterday. It really won't bother you because the exhaust sound will distract you. Lol.Bet, an easy fix on the squeak brakes is going with aftermarket brake pads EBC, Hawk pads etc

I always start the car it's the windo down and roll the window down at every light. It's a fucking rig.
Lol, yeah. But don't write off the hellcat. I saw one take off at a light last year and it was phenomenal. The M does everything right though. Brakes, corner , interior, technology etc. it's a shame that you no have to get an M in order to get the real BMW feel.Man I'm hyped lmaoo
The wife hindering my progress, she love cars too and suggested I should look into a 2016 Charger scatpack or Hellcat.. Or the Chevy SS which I mentioned before for the same price as the M but brand new Lmaooo
I told her "mind your business"
