BGOL review .. BATMAN V SUPERMAN... (thoughts, summary, spoilers)

if they are dumb, why have you answered one of them yet? Its a dumb question to ask who was the guy that showed up during the dream? why is that dumb? I'll wait. Its dumb to ask how Lois knew that the spear would work on Doomsday? why? I'll wait. Give me an answer to that. She didnt know who was out there. She didnt know shit about doomsday. So explain that dumb question.

You just said it yourself, the movie was made for comic fans. so again, another question you havent answered, why show how bruces parents die....again? what purpose did it serve? To learn his mothers name was Martha? Really?

You dont have the answers.
I actually confused you with that Fonzerelli guy (because we was going back n forth for sometime) My bad for that. I didn't mean to react the way I did to your post..

But to answer your questions, I did already.

Check some of my earlier posts like 2 or 3 pages ago. (I just can't retype all that stuff at the moment)

aight, so i take back my insult then.

duh, what was it up against? Yeah it made a lot of money because of expectations, which is why a lot of movies make money. People want to see it, because the trailers look good, or it was advertised in a way that made people think it would be worth it. The second week is the telling factor.

I'm not into calling people names on the internet and insulting them, but you are saying some pretty stupid shit. "wait until the next movie to have your questions answered". fucking really?
Not sure what your point is about.... 'what is it up against?'. :dunno:

When Marvel's first Avengers film released in 2012, it wasn't 'up against anything' either. :smh:

Both movies made money in their first weekend. We'll see what week 2 brings. (Shrugs :dunno:)

With all the negative criticism... The movie has already made almost HALF a BILLION dollars (worldwide) in the 1st weekend alone.

- $424 million worldwide
- $170 million US box office

Pretty sure that breaks the #1 spot for any March movie release which was previously held by a Hunger Games flick. ($165 million)

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=superman2015.htm

That's great... But I guarantee that most of this is related to pre-sales and the fact that you have a movie with Batman and Superman fighting and it also has Wonder Woman in it. The key will be the second and third weeks. That's where we will see if it has legs.

The problem is that this movie.... Has to have a billion dollars to be viewed as a true success. I mean its already opened in China. So it cant depend on a strong hit later on from the Chinese box office to boost the numbers. It's all in on this.

See how easy it is to get confused when a lot of random shit is being thrown at you.

I'm just going let that sink in.... And I don't even have a comicbook back story to fill in the gaps.

It was suppose to be more than 18 months though wasn't it?

How long was he superman in man of steel... A couple months?

Let's just say he was superman for a total of 2 years and Bruce was batman for over 20. Yeap that sounds about right. 20 years of batman and this is the first time he hears shit about meta humans.

Dude, I'm not in a movie theater with the lights out... Completely focused on the dialogue, acting & story arcs right in front of me, with zero distractions.:hmm::smh::lol:

Just saying.

Hahahahahaa

You know I'm just fucking with you on like 88 percent of this shit. I actually do respect that you have not wavered on your opinion even with all the shit that I'm throwing out.

I'd like to see y'all come up with a better movie.

I liked Bats v Supes... but I should've LOVED it. The first half hour had me on the edge of my seat. The only thing I can think of is how I would make certain scenes go in a different direction is all.

Here it goes:

1. Bruce Wayne loses friends and employees in the Supes v Zod battle - we see everything in the same way the film begins. No problem. Show Bats investigating Supes - he would trace the same path that Lois Lane did when she was trying to track him down 2 years prior. Bats would do that with no problem.

2. Bruce Wayne wouldn't publicly speak out against Supes but Lex would and as a celebrity and a Mark Zuckerberg/ Sean Parker type. He would also promote his hand in rebuilding Metropolis and try to partner up with Wayne. They could easily work together and as businessmen on the same level, it works. Show Batman secretly tracing Supes and Zods battle to that tower where they had the showdown and have him recover Zods armor.

3. Meanwhile show Supes debate them by just saving folks around the globe, build up the debate until the Senate hearing. Forget Africa and that lame set up, just use the bombing in Washington as the inciting incident. Also show Supes trying to alternate and change up his look, between the Clark Kent front and his real self. Besides Diana, he is the only super that uses a human persona as a cover. You could also let us know that Perry White is FULLY AWARE that Kent is Supes.

4. Do NOT give Lex access to Supes info so fast - let Bats figure it out. Behind the scenes, Lex manipulates shit to pit them against each other. The Senate politics would stay the same, every scene. Make Lex have the wheelchair guy think he's being protected by Batman and that way when it explodes - the terroristic act can be associated with Batman. There you go, Supes feel guilty but also feels that he now has to take this "out of control" Batman down.

5. Meanwhile show Lex trying to work deals with government folks to secure access to the alien ship. Also show Lucius Fox and Alfred working Zods armor into plates for a Ironman like armor suit for Bats. That would explain why he could go toe to toe with Supes before even getting the Kryptonite and weaponizing it.

6. Show Wayne uncovering the meta human files on his own from secret governemtn/ Lex files and viewing the files himself. Later on show Diana getting the info from Bats and then confirming the existence of Aquaman and a similar visit from future Flash. Batman has that mad max dream invaded by Flash but Flash also gives Diana a vision.

7. Show Bats and Alfred debating how far he is going and the bad guys hes killing and how it looks plausible that he could be the new bad guy in the eyes of the public. Mention that he is going too far. Mention how hard it is fro Supes to track down Bats when he is distracted by all the other disasters happening - almost all at once, show him being overwhelmed by beging the hero. Also, this would explain the car chase and why Supes would pick a fight with him then and stop Bats from killing those baddies.

8. Show Supes tracking the Kryptonite down and hitting lexcorp for evidence - and this is another twist they missed. If he has no knowledge of the Kryptonite, he would be surprised by Batman has stolen after he hit Lexcorp himself. Lex would show he has no fear of Supes publicly and then states that both Batman and Supes are a menace. This is where Wayne steps away from Lex publicly and denounces the politics of it all.

9. Show Lex being contacted by an alien (Darkseid) through the alien ship tech, similar to how Zod contacted humanity in Man of Steel. That would add to Lex's motivations and explain WHY and HOW he created Doomsday. NOW you can have him discover that Kent and Supes are one - from Darkseid. Lex puts a man on Martha to watch her.

10. If Lois is the key - as Flash says, then show her as such. Have Bats finally discover Supes identity and then after Diana gets the info she saves Lois from the Lex kidnap attempt. Lex as a last resort or a back up plan, says fuck it, fuck all the subterfuge and could have his team kidnap Martha Kent to shut Supes down.

11. Then the battle between Supes and Bats would go the same way and have DIANA STOP BATS FROM KILLING SUPES. With Lois Lane in tow and the whole Martha name to boot, Bats would realize his error. The intro to Doomsday would then make sense and while Supes and Diana battle Doomsday, Bats would go after Martha Kent.

12. The whole battle with Doomsday would stay the same and when Bats arrives to help out , the trio attempt to take him out. Have Supes attempt to use the spear to kill Doomsday and he stabs Supes and they both are locked together. After Doomsday kills Supes, He tries to go after Wonder woman and Bats and outta nowhere Lois runs him through from behind with the Spear. That would be the twist that nobody sees coming... THE LITTLE HUMAN WOMAN THAT WE FORGOT ABOUT - SHE IS THE KEY.

13. Have Lois and Perry come up with a cover story about where Clark Kent is - an undercover assignment somewhere in the middle east working for CNN. Have a small, private funeral for Supes at the farm.

14. Have Bats provide the police with all the evidence against Lex and show them arresting him in a business meeting with Wayne. Wayne plays stupid to everything.

15. Have Diana go to meet the Scientist and tell him that she knows all about his son and the Cyborg project. When he asks how, have her give him a disc and tell him we have work to do.

16. Have the WORLD mourn the death of Superman and stay as is and do NOT show the dirt moving at the end.

I think a lot of people need to have movies dumbed down instead of enjoying the aspects of intrigue & mystery a good story provides.

It's the only reason I believe that Watchmen isn't seen as the greatest comic book movie ever.

Till this day, I recommend people to watch Watchmen (no pun intended) & now they enjoy it. They get the subtext, the storyline & the context of the movie.

But people want everything handed to them in a cup. Explains why Marvel makes the same movie over & over again & why the Transformers series is so basic.

Watchmen and Blade are very underrated when it comes to comicbook movies

I said earlier this morning that Wallace could have been made to be Metallo. He resented Superman for the loss of his legs and plus he and Luthor we're working together as Supes went to answer for the deaths in Africa. Doomsday could have been saved for a solo Superman film.

Man you cool and all but I ain't readin all that shit

What a terrible story :smh:
What was the point?
They should have left batman out and have lex in a armour suit.
Trash I'm ready for civil war.

I agree about Doomsday....he was rushed and probably should've got his own film. But I just think ya'll overrate this Superman story. I Think this is as good as it can get. Superman's character just isn't that great to watch.

The strongest person in the world.........then you have Doomsday who gets stronger as you hit him. It doesn't make for a great movie. Maybe a comic but not great movie.

They couldn't leave Batman out because Batman was probably the best thing about the film lol.

the level of comedy humor sarcasm intelligence and cleverness and honest well thought film review in this thread alone...

WB and DC need to hire at LEAST 6 of ya''ll to sit in as producers on the next 6 films.

I swear there are some writers of fan films that have genuine LOVE of the source material that would make a movie that will blow this shit out of the water.

Somebody tell me WHY NO JOR-EL!!!!!!!!!!!

when supes comes back to life they should recast him as somebody else lol
There's nothing wrong with Cavil as Superman. The script was terrible. I mean the line where he says to Lois "not everyone stays good" is a terrible line. They rushed the shit out of the film or edited out the essential story piecing parts out. Wonder if the rated R blue ray is the better film that were complaining about not getting.

I submitted a few ideas but Zack Snyder & DC rewrote them. When Bruce Wayne ran into the dust of the collapsed building I suggested Apache Chief jumps off his horse grows and grabs the building....they decided to just use the horse walking through the rubble

I also suggested having Black Vulcan as one of the Metahumans but I was told the film is "dark" enough and it's raining in the film so his powers wouldn't be a conductor of mainstream interest

I said the same thing...at first.

But I saw the film again today and basically everything is stemming from whether or not Superman stays good. Think back to the vision of the future that Flash gave Batman. He said that he was eventually proven right about Superman and his ability to turn into a tyrant. Losing Lois Lane is what sends Clark down that dark path. He was telling Batman that they must protect Lois at all costs. She's the key. So the theme of staying good is reflected in Clarks thoughts. His faith in humanity is shaken. When Lois tells him that his shield means something he says, "On my world it did. And my world doesn't exist anymore" In the end he then tells her, "This is my world. You are my world."

So Superman got pussy whip in 18 Months? It's way too soon to make Superman a bad guy, I think they are going the Injustice: Gods Among Us route. This, in my opinion, is a bad idea. This is suppose to be Superman's first sequel and they already trying to make him out to be a bad guy? Damn let him establish his rep as a hero first, but they have completely ruined his main villian so the franchises is probably already fucked. Their best bet was to go off of the Nolan franchise but too late. I guess they will get it right when they reboot in another 10-15 years.

Why did Wanye have to call ol' boy to tell him to get out of the building in the opening sequence? That big ass floating alien laser death machine was already fucking shit up. It seems that a building evacuation was a given at that point. Then, Wayne does like 10 blocks of Jeep commercial and ol' boy is still in the building staring out of the fucking window from a high level. That was very poor writing, editing or direction.

I actually think you can make a great Superman story... If they focus more on Clark Kent the investigator reporter and actually be willing to show that Clark has brains. Have him discover that Lex isn't the great guy that the rest of the world thinks he is and have him be the only one that believes it. In that movie you would have this great Cat & Mouse between Clark and Lex.... and Superman would come in to stop Lex's schemes. This would eventually set up Lex getting taken down in the end. Then you would have Brainiac for the second one.... I would have Brainiac come from a Latent program that stayed behind on Zod's ship. I would have had Brainiac take the dude who lost his legs and turn him into Metallo. He would have used Metallo as his voice to the world so he could try to get people to be willing to accept Brainiac's rule because of the actual "miracles" that he can perform. Obviously Brainiac would be doing this to distract the world while he goes around sucking up the worlds knowledge. In the end, Supes would have to turn back to Lex for help to try to stop Brainiac setting up the 3rd movie.

Then the final movie would have the "reformed" Lex running for President and Superman falling for it after much convincing from Lex. Only for Lex to be working on the Doomsday initiative to take down the recently formed Justice League's leader. Supes would then have to commit the ultimate Sacrifice to save the world that he loved... And his death would have meaning. BAM... there's three movies right there.

The fucked up thing about all this... Is that it would have had more meaning, if Zack didn't make it seem like Bruce dreamed the entire Flash thing and if they Didn't kill Superman. Bruce wouldn't know Clark's coming back. So to him he's probably like.... I got to lay off the tuna after midnight, because I don't know what that dream was about. He's dead now....
