2015 - 2016 NBA Thread - NBA where amazing happens - all rookie team named!!!

okc the only team in the west that can beat golden state in a playoff series. them boys just gotta stay healthy and gel which is a big if. rockets and clippers are a mess..spurs age catches up to em in the playoffs.the west is so so right now.good to see the east come back tho

The only team that could challenge them in the west is the Spurs and right now SA just doesn't have the fire power. They have the size to dominate, but they are lacking at the moment trying to adjust to this new team. If GS match up with the Spurs, it will like be the last of the traditional style basketball we'll see in the NBA. SA is giving the traditional PF/center combination its last "how-ra". Small ball is taking over the league and GS is proving that it can work consistently.

The east is very competitive and is great for the NBA. The east has a lot of ballers and Im glad to finally see this shift in the league. The west teams are acting light some bitches right now.

Don't over look Miami... The Bosh/Whiteside combo

Miami is way to slow to keep with GS; Plus Whiteside would never be an issue because he would have to come out on the perimeter and GS will just shoot jumpers; Nah Miami wont give them no issues fam...

This was about the last tradition PF/center combination...

I consider Bosh a stretch 4/5 now. Chris Bosh would thrive gloriously in a system like GS.

Not too mmay smash mouth PFs in the league. I like that Heat combo though.
Their guards allow way too much dribble penetration in the paint, combine that with a team that can hit the outside shot and its disastrous.

Yea...you got a point

Let's see what we have:

Memphis (Randolph & Gasol)
Spurs(Aldridge & Duncan)
Clippers(Blake & Jordan, even tho Blake might not get looked at as tradition)
Lakers(Randell & Hibbert)

New breed(combo ain't smash mouth, but ain't really stretch to the 3 point)
76ers(Oakfor & Noel)
Bucks(Parker & Monroe)

Can't think of anybody else

Im at the Hornets Kings game tonite. Just wanna say Steph Curry's mom might be the most overrated woman on BGOL. Not really impressed wit her up close and in person.

No if you go back to what I said, I said there are barely a few teams that come close to what it takes to beat the Warriors... Now they can beat them if everything works out right.. For example the Bulls could have beaten the Warriors with a productive Rose especially if it was played at Chicago... As far as OKC goes, with Durant and Westbrook healthy, they always have a punchers chance at beating anyone... All it takes is for them to have a monster game and the rest of the players step up.. However they are shallow at the guard position so asking them to beat the Warriors in a series is a tall order to muster up.. The same can be said about S.A. right now, but their success largely depends on how much in the tank Parker and Manu has... Right now I can see them winning a few games tops in a series, however the right trade can potentially change things dramatically..
As for the Cavs, it appears they have modified their team specifically for the Warriors and once fully healthy should be, by far the greatest challenge for G.S. Remember the Warriors may be a better regular season team and should cruse through the season, perhaps breaking the Bulls record.. But none of that would mean a thing until they meet up with the one team that has all the parts to beat them...
On the other side of the coin the Warriors have made subtle changes in their line up making matching them up better with Cleveland, so at the end of the day its going to be about execution and strategy, mainly who can make the better adjustments... Either way its going to be a hell of a ride...

Cavs wont be healthy; its not in their DNA to be; Mark my words, 1 or multiple players will be hurt by the time the reach the finals(if they do)

To think about beating G.S. you have to have the following..

1- A deep bench,
2- A good half court game..
3- Guards who can score forcing the Splash brothers to play both sides of the ball..
4- Good re-bounders (the Warriors kill teams off the glass and 2nd chance points)
5- Hustlers who can get to those 50/50 balls
6- Scoring guards who can capitalize once Curry hits the bench... Many time his back up outscores who ever comes in to face him, forcing the starter to come off the bench earlier while Curry gets the full rest..
7-Players who can attack the paint..
8- Outside shooters who can pop in the pick and roll
9- A tough team that can set tough picks and bump Curry and Thompson around..
10- A finisher, someone who can hit the big shot matching the scoring power of G.S.

If you don't have these ten things, good luck in tying to keep up with them..

Who is the scoring guard that the Spurs have on their bench?? who Patty Mills :lol:; As a matter of fact if you watch Parker, hes on his last leg; Who is the guards that can consistently score?? Green is a spot up shooter that doesnt want to shoot half the time; Parker is old and slowing down very rapidly; Spurs have inside game but outside game is suspect especially if a team doesnt double team them; And they will be even more worn down once the playoffs start; sorry sir spurs dont have all thats on that list...

Might get another 20/20 game this time for Rondo

He's sitting at 12pts/15ast with 3 mins left in the 3rd

Despite most of this being inaccurate... Go back to last season and see how these teams matched up against one another. Ill wait.

DeMarcus Cousins is a beast. I like his game. And Rondo should be an all star again, he doin work for the Kings.

11 points, 11 rebounds, 5 blocks for Hassan Whiteside tonight. Knicks fold to Heat once again. 1 game behind Cleveland for East #1 seed.

I didn't say they will beat G.S. nor did I ever claim to have everything on the list... I said they are one of the few teams that come close to having all the things on that list. I also said they are one of the few teams who at least have a punching chance vs G.S.
And please stop using the laughing face before carefully reading what I typed its not a good look at all :smh:...

This comment wasnt directed at you, it was at some other guy who said the Spurs had what you posted on the list; I understand what you are saying as it relates to the matchups; My question still is of the list that you posted, what team has all of that?? And that poster claimed the spurs had it; I was letting him know they dont...

Im sorry, what does last year have to do with this year??? So GS isnt better than what they were last year?? You think they are the same team as last year?? Wait, so the spurs are the same team last year as they are this year...:hmm:

They both essentially have the same rosters. Both have made incremental improvements.. GS in experience.. SA in experience and personnel.

And in the postseason, benches are shortened. So im not sure whats all this bench scoring you're talking about. But you might wanna ask that question about GS.. If they utilize their small ball as a starting lineup, theres not much scoring off that bench. But Mills, Diaw, Manu are all capable scorers coming off SA bench. And Parker has absolutely lost a step but he is FAR from being on his last leg. Injuries were his issue last season. But he is more than capable of performing on a high level. Also, Spurs arent dependent on double teams to get shots. It isnt 2005. Have you watched them play lately? Motion and ball movement are far more important to them now.

They are a trade away from moving up on the list and with the collective bargaining ending after this season, lord knows how thats going to play out during the trade deadline..
If the Spurs are close enough to smell the finish line, they may be big time buyers at the market.

Plenty of times I've listed why some to the Cavs players were injured in the past, to review most players who stay injured is usually due of one of two things, chronic injury (think Greg Oden) or because wear and tear nagging injuries (think Love, Rondo, Irving, Westbrook) the difference is chronic injuries are usually caused by broken down parts that never heal, while players who get worn down do to nagging injuries usually are playing too man mins, or doing things that keep getting them injured..
With the Cavs they have given Love proper back up, so that he can play at a pace that is more conducive to being healthy...
Not saying that they wont get injured, especially not knowing how Irving knee conditioning is, but if things are ok, both Love and Irving should be in better shape to be healthy for the first times in their careers...

Love actually worked on his body probably for the first time in his career.
That was the conclusion of the infamous poolside meeting...

Love - Bron why u don't treat me like the rest
James - You wasn't what I thought you were,
Love - what that meant
James - soft and weak
Love - I take that
Love - what would it take for a bigger role on offense
James - come to camp in great shape, be ready to play championship ball, we'll make u the focus of the offense, return to allstate form

LeBron James’ Favorite Player In The 2014 NBA Draft Talks About His Endorsement

CUgvOnmWsAAxsio.png

During last year’s NBA Draft, when LeBron James’ future was still up in the air, Shabazz Napier got a huge endorsement from the four-time Most Valuable Player.

This prompted Pat Riley, who was then still hoping that James would not take his talents away from South Beach, to trade for Napier. Of course, we know how everything turned out. LeBron James is now thriving in his second season back with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Shabazz Napier is now part of the Orlando Magic.

Napier confessed to never giving James’ comment much attention.

I didn’t do anything with those expectations; that was everybody else. I didn’t feed into it at all. [LeBron] said what he said, and I think everybody else read into it the wrong way.

I don’t think it was that he wanted to play with me or that the Miami HEAT had to trade for me to get him to stay. That was overblown. I just thought he enjoyed watching me playing in the tournament. That was it.

But Napier is also grateful of his time in Miami and being around players with championship experience, thanks to James’ contribution when he was a Heat.

Just to be around that team and see the championship pedigree that they all have, that mentality that they all have, it’s great to have that in your first year. It shows you the way it’s supposed to be, how you stay on top, because there are going to be people clawing at your collar, trying to grab you down. Watching Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Udonis Haslem, Luol Deng and others every single day was something I appreciated.

Shabazz Napier will get a chance to show his wares in front of LeBron James himself when the Orlando Magic take on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
