The Top 10 Male R&B/Soul Vocal Groups

Who would make your Top 10 if you restricted it to groups who released their FIRST single over the past TWENTY YEARS?
The Top 10 Male R&B/Soul Vocal Groups (1995-Present)

op was on a roll until he included them young bucks

Not even an old kat but those last three groups should be nowhere near this list. Til the present should still be the best 10 groups. 60's and 70's would dominate even a top 20 list.

This group had probably the MOST UNDERRATED LEAD SINGER OF THE ALL-TIME... MARVIN JUNIOR(RIP)... The Dells

THIS RIGHT MF HERE!!!!!

Man, I said the same thing to one of my boys and they looked at me like I was crazy. Marvin Junior was one of the greatest soul vocalists of ALL TIME.

You can't name anyone that could ousting him. Dude had that ill baritone and vocal control.

Btw, Fuck the dumb shit...BoyzIIMen earned their way on this list. The other groups would agree.

Arguably number one.

Boys 2 Men, NE and Jodeci OUT SOLD every other group not on the list and most of the ones on the list...

Jackson 5, Isleys, EWF, Commodores, Cameo, etc are BANDS not groups

Beyonce has probably outsold Minnie Riperton. Yet, vocally and as far as material, she isn't in the same league. Those kats may make a top 80's or 90's list, but if the 60's and 70's are included, no one who knows music will have them in the top 10, period.

jodeci is legendary. but they dont belong on that list. i have no problem with Boyz nor NE.. NE was on some other shit in the 80's..

...add to that where's The Dells, Bloodstone, The Manhattans and the Isley Brothers.

On second thought there's no way to structure a list with only 10 groups. Not if your going to include all the best groups.

idk Mo, I think you can, but you'd have to define eras. For instance: I think the 60s & 70s were probably the pinnacle of Black R&B music so that would be one era and we could work from there. 80s & 90s next? Then everything after. No matter, the 60s, 70s groups are going to blow away anything from any era. Then look at the house bands: MFSB, Booker T & the MGs, Funk Bros., The Bar-Kays. So when you say "top 10" I'm thinking they're all going to come from the 60s, 70s era. And we're only just now really hearing what Motown sounded like with the remastering from those fucked up, treble-heavy masters.

I'll go along with eras. When I look at what I have within my collection eras makes sense.

How is Boyz 2 Men being treated like some second rate group? I know we romanticize the past - and rightfully so, at times - but .... stop.
