I like Apache Cafe. They have a great grits with cheese and salmon bowl. The jalapeño cornbread in it. :slobber:

I performed a rap there a while ago. Got extremely positive feedback from my performance. I'm just too old to make something of my talent now. :smh:

Stay away from the megachurches. You might like Elizabeth Baptist although it's on the Southwest side of town and you're on the Northeast. I don't go out in this city much anymore so I don't know about clubs or bars.

I suggest you use yelp, scoutmob, eventbrite, or just walk certain areas of town to explore and find new spots and meet people.

Atlantic Station
Little Five points
Midtown
Downtown
Perimeter Dunwoody
West Marietta Street/Howell Mill/Collier Hills/Food truck park

All are pedestrian friendly and have bars, restaurants and lounges, just depends on your forte.

Here are some restaurants I like:

Legal seafood
Pappadeauxs New Orleans Cuisine
Fellinis Pizza
Nickys Seafood
The Buddha Chinese Food

Dude the restaurants you name are :smh::smh:...Chain fast food shit:lol::lol:..come on bruh, you coulda name some better restaurants than that...plenty of good restaurants in ATL...

I named what I like. He or his lady might like the same. Feel free to submit your own...
Legal seafood

Pappadeauxs is a fancier Red Lobster, disgusting...Fellinis Pizza to me isnt good pizza but that might be because I have real pizza from NY and Chicago; Nickys Seafood never eating there but I heard service is horrible so Im good on that..The Buddha Chinese Food is solid for late night after hours shit..

Italian Restaurants:

Pricci..its in Buckhead very good as well
Pasta Bella..its in Austell, very good and good pricing
Antico posta..its buckhead as well

Seafood:

Kyma...top of line seafood with exotic shit and good
Atlanta Fish Market...its solid, not the best but solid; a little overprice but way better than Pappadeauxs
Tomo...in buckhead and good seafood; not expensive

French:

Anis..its good

Late Night:

R Thomas and Delias Chicken Spot; Both are good and serve healthy food as well

True Food is really good if u like healthy, organic food

Yeah Burger has the best turkey burgers in atlanta and its healthy;

South City Kitchen very solid place; Serve a variety of food and its good and not too expensive; they have I believe 2 locations

Bartaco on marietta st; Hell almost all the restaurants on Marietta st are good;

I can name plenty more if you like...

This is the truth! And it be big, nice spots, you think they're well established. ..then you drive by and it's a pile of dust & mound of red clay with some bulldozers on it. A lot of development going on, people getting bought out.

Best is to get on a email list of a promoter. I kinda chilled on going out, too. I be so busy with work that I got my spots I go to and that's it. But I need to change em and find a pool hall that's black owned, a bar, or Mexican spot close to spaghetti junction that's like the Mexican on Old National.

Ain't shit on the top end for black folks, at least not like I'm used to. I can't even find nowhere that plays rap :dunno:

Oh and when you leave, sherm?

You beat me to it. Dude names some national chain food spots and an average at best pizza spot :lol::lol: Only someone who lives way the fuk in Snellville would do that.

A few actual Atlanta spots you should try off the top of my head: 2 Urban Licks, La Fonda Latina (its a chain, but a LOCAL chain), Bar Taco

Yeah the irony of the situation did not escape me either:lol:. BGOL has an extensive network of people of all walks of life so I figured someone would have some useful suggestions, but rules are rules... to ask a question on this board you must post pics. :dunno:

You did the right thing by posting them pics Lost. That's the way to ask a question!!!

Enzos Pizza in Tucker and NY Pizza Exchange in Smyrna, and Antico Pizza. Best pizza spots that I have tried. I heard Savage Pizza in Little 5 was good. I need to hit that up one day. For pub food and the best pressure cooked friend chicken ever, Fork in the Road at Northlake Mall. Vortex, Flip Burger for burgers. Maggianos for Italian.

Exactly ...Those spots you name all in that Marietta St/Howell Mill area; Good restaurants over there...

Rosas Pizza downtown is the best pizza I had in atl; They only open M-F and they close at like 6 I think..

St Angelos in Smyrna/Vinnings area has some good pizza as well

Flip Burger is solid but pricy for what you get; Yeah Burger is way better and healthier and you get more for your money..

And Maggianos is ok for Italian, still a chain though; If you gonna go to chain restaurants, then Carrabas to me is better than Magis...But check my earlier post for good italian spots...

All I do is eat out so I have plenty of other suggestions if you need them...

I don't like Yeah Burger and I'd say they cost about the same. Not all chains are bad, why do people act like local is always better? There are exceptions all over town.

I know y'all are above eating at chain restaurants. :hmm:

I'm vegan now though, but it will be missed.

Local for the most part is better than chains; Majority of chain restaurants do not cook their food; Their food is pre packaged frozen, and they just warm it up; Show me a chain restaurant and I will show a local restaurant thats better all day!!..I dont eat beef or pork so I cant speak on their beef burgers; although I heard Yeah Burger beef burgers are good; But turkey burgers, none in the city better than Yeah Burger...And their salad bowls and organic milk shakes are great!

Grindhouse Burgers on Piedmont tho...
I don't think I saw anybody mention Fat Matt for BBQ, or Community Q in Decatur. Fat Matt got that Sweet Potato Pie I'll kill somebody for.

Havent been to those but I will check them out; Thanks for the heads up..

Here's a sample list of restaurants that I like:

Papi's (on Ponce) - good Cuban spot...

Taco 1000000 (Smyrna) - taco truck parked in front of an old Dairy Queen...one of the best kept secrets in the A...in my opinion, this place has the best tacos in the ATL! (and only $0.99 a piece) Make sure to bring cash because they don't accept credit/debit cards :smh:

Taco La Villa (Smyrna) - good authentic Mexican food...try the $1.29 tacos...voted best in the ATL by Creative Loafing a few years back...

Nuevo Laredo Cantina (near Howell Mill) - damn good authentic Mexican food! This is a must!

Delia's Chicken Sausage Shack (Marietta St) - good spot to hit up for lunch or late night...

Surin's (Va. Highlands) - awesome Thai food...

JCT Kitchen & Bar (Howell Mill) - gourmet Southern cuisine...went here for my birthday in December and it was banging!

Marietta Diner (Marietta) - don't let the name fool you...this spot is more than a diner, they serve everything from Italian to Greek to Mexican to seafood to traditional American to you name it...open 24 hours...

Thumbs Up Diner (Edgewood) - great brunch spot...several locations but I prefer this location the best...

Another Broken Egg (Vinings) - awesome brunch spot...get there early (before 10:30am) because this spot gets packed and you'll be waiting for awhile to get a table...

Flying Biscuit (several locations) - another good brunch spot...

Paschals (Castleberry Hill) - I really like this spot...I've heard mixed reviews about this place over the years and finally went there last year and I thought the food was very good...Black owned and has a lot of history...

R. Thomas (Buckhead) - one of the most unique restaurants in the ATL...open 24 hours...I usually grab a bite here after the club...lots of healthy options...an Atlanta staple!!

Haven't been to Fat Matt's in a few years but use to be my go to spot for ribs...on the weekends, the line is out the door...

Yeah! Burger is really good! I like it better than Flip Burger. Drinks are pretty good there too. If you haven't tried their bison burger then you're sleeping!

I went to Delias spent 8 bucks and still was hungry. It was delicious tho...
