Charleston killer Dylann Roof apparently left a ranting, racist manifesto on the internet calling for a new civil war in America before staging his massacre in a church.
A website seemingly written by Roof not long before the killings at the Emanuel AME Church in the South Carolina city emerged Saturday, and said he had 'no choice' but to carry out the massacre.
On the site, he pinpoints Charleston as his target because of its high proportion of blacks and bemoans that there is 'no real KKK' to help him.
The site was also stuffed full of images of Roof burning the America flag, spitting on it, posing next to Confederate landmarks and posing menacingly with a gun pointed at the camera.
Killer: A website seemingly belonging to Charleston killer Dylann Roof included this photograph of him aiming posing with a gun and a Confederate flag surrounded by pot plants
Hate: Roof pictured himself burning the U.S. flag - he later said that he 'hates the sight' of it
Grim: The photo above shows roof spitting on the America flag while trampling it into his floor
Shooter: The site included a picture of a shirtless roof aiming his .45-caliber handgun, believed to be the weapon he used during Wednesday's massacre, at the camera
Roof's 2,500-word rant begins with saying he was not raised racist, but came to the decision he had to act after reading about what he describes as 'black on white crime' and concluding that minorities were taking over the United States.
He also embarks on a bizarre digression on other races, where he dubs East Asians 'allies', calls Hispanics 'a huge problem' says he wishes all Jews would turn blue for a day so people would realize they are different to whites.
In the text, which he implies was written not long before the killings, he declares: 'N****rs are stupid and violent.... Black people view everything through a racial lense [sic].'
At the end of the passage, he wrote: 'I have no choice. I am not in the position to, alone, go into the ghetto and fight.
Confederacy: Several of the photos show Roof posing with the Confederate flag. In the manifesto he glorifies slavery
Pose: Many of the photographs show Roof squatting - such as here holding a Confederate flag
'Rhodesian': Roof, pictured here posing in a swamp, expressed admiration for apartheid-era South Africa. He named his website Last Rhodesian - a reference to Rhodesia, a former white supremacist state in Africa. In the image above he poses in a jacket wearing a Rhodesian flag
'I chose Charleston because it is most historic city in my state, and at one time had the highest ratio of blacks to Whites in the country.
'We have no skinheads, no real KKK, no one doing anything but talking on the internet. Well someone has to have the bravery to take it to the real world, and I guess that has to be me.
'Unfortunately at the time of writing I am in a great hurry and some of my best thoughts, actually many of them have been to be left out and lost forever.
'But I believe enough great White minds are out there already. Please forgive any typos, I didnt [sic] have time to check it.'
Other photographs Roof seemingly uploaded show him posing with black mannequins, seemingly dressed as slaves, at a museum, and posing on the beach, squatting over White Supremacist symbols he drew in the sand.
He further claims that racial segregation is 'not a bad thing' and praises the white supremacist South African regime as well as attempting to glorify slavery.
Slavery: Roof is pictured above apparently posing with mannequins at a museum exhibit
Bedroom: In the above image Roof holds the Confederate flag over his shoulder in the same bedroom in which he posed with a gun
Close-up: Pictured is the .45-caliber weapon Roof was holding in his photograph. According to members of his family, he bought the weapon with birthday money. He is believed to have used it in the massacre
The website is entitled Last Rhodesian - a reference to the former African state of Rhodesia, which was ruled by whites.
Roof's Facebook profile picture also featured him sporting a Rhodesian flag.
The site was set up in February 2015, and is registered via a privacy protection company in Queensland, Australia, designed to mask the identity of who runs a website. However, Roof's name has been linked to the web address elsewhere.
Supremacist: Roof is pictured above posing over the number 1488 at a beach - the digits are used by some White Supremacists as code for their movement
Nazi origins: The number can refer to a 14-word supremacist slogan: 'We must secure the existence of our people and a future for White Children', said to have been inspired by an 88-word passage in Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf
His apparent manifesto's longest section is simply entitled 'blacks'. Within, he claims white oppression of black people is a narrative of 'historical lies, exaggerations and myths'.
He includes passages on other races, in which he concludes that Hispanic people are also 'a huge problem', describes Asians as 'allies' and says that Jews are essentially white people.
In a section marked 'patriotism', the text says: 'I hate the sight of the American flag. Modern American patriotism is an absolute joke.
Murder charges: Roof is pictured above appearing in court via video-link. he was charged with nine counts of murder - one for each of the people killed Wednesday night
Target: Pictured is the AME Emanuel Church in Charleston, shown Friday, two days after the shooting
'People pretending like they have something to be proud while White people are being murdered daily in the streets'.
Roof appeared in court Friday charged with nine counts of murder. According to media reports, Roof has confessed to the murders.
Friends have also said that not long before the attacks he burst into racist rants and declared that he wanted to spark a civil war with a mass shooting.
