Kendrick Perkins on LBJ legacy - "A couple of more titles and that's it."

The East is weak sauce. However, if the Cavs manage to beat GS after having lost Love and with Kyrie barely making it through, it's going to make a huge statement.

But kind of like how Wade had nothing left last year against the Spurs, I think Lebron is about to meet up in the finals against the superior team that's playing extremely well...and lose. Maybe GS will choke up having never been there before..

If they win, I think it might rank as one of the greatest feats in NBA History. This is not a great squad, this shit it working because Lebron can fill in on both sides of the floor for both Kyrie and Love.. that shit's CRAZY.

Fam like the Spurs were a collective last year Bron ain't beating them dudes by himself... I give GS the nod only because their bench gonna avg like 25 pts alone.. The Cavs bench is ass...

Not only that Curry gonna strentch them thin.. Put Bron on Curry and Green, Barnes and Klay gonna feast

So you are comparing these clowns Lebron has faced to opponents Jordan had to face in the 80's and 90's every single round?

Also, people forget, Jordan sat out 2 years in his prime, and came back and 3 peated. There is no reason in my mind to believe he would not have won 8 straight rings if he had never taken a break. Rings are not exclusive, NBA Champ MVP's are exclusive. If he wins 7 Champ MVP's, then I will put him over Jordan and Kareem,maybe....

Cool... and just like any GOAT discussion, you are entitled to your opinion, which any GOAT discussion is, an opinion.

There is no way to without a doubt validate any of these discussions, if stats, it wouldn't be Jordan, Kareem scored more, Stockton had more assist, Wilt had more rebounds and Bill Russell had more chips, so, how then is MJ universally considered the GOAT?

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement right here

He has probably done more with less than any super star had to in the last 30 years.

He hasn't had a healthy bona-fide wing man on a championship run since the 2nd chip with the heat.

Jordan never quit on his team in a game EVER. LeBron far too often looks like a petulant teen who doesn't respect or deal with authority properly. He knows everything, and the more his skills decline it is going to be more evident.

He's good, but if he listened and actually ALLOWED himself to be coached he would be 2/3 better. Fucking imagine.

That's gonna be the problem man... GS has a complete team on both sides of the ball and then Steph can straight go bananas..Lebron is gonna need Kyrie to be healthy and for him to go straight bananas for them to have a chance or Lebron would need to just have a historic series.... I still think GS gonna come out tight though...the difference is that Spurs had been there before

yo at the begining of the year,

the lebron haters were strong...

it was only ten games into the season

and they were like..

he shouldve stayed in miami... blah blah blah...

and it wasnt even 20 games into the season yet..

I still think its a lil too early to throw that title

on him...

but I think he will grab it eventually...

if he wins with cleveland the whole fuckin

city...

should wipe his ass everytime he takes a shit...

they should BEG for his forgiveness!!!

i don't think been there before matters this time around. its all about them playing hard. losing 2 to memphis woke them up. they have to work for the ring not just show up.

shit look at game 3.. there was no reason for them to win by 35 points. steph curry had a monster game and the role players didn't even have a good game and thompson had another shitty performance... and they still won by 35 by outworking a team that was down 2-0 and needed that game to keep the series alive.

I'm sick and tired of this Lebron vs MJ debate, it's premature. Nobody knows tomorrow and Lebron is not at the end of his career. He might never go to another NBA finals again and he might win 4 or 5 more championships. Time will tell. Once he retires or nears retirement we will have a full body of work to compare and contrast. One thing is pretty sure right now and that is Lebron is by far the best we have seen since MJ retired and there is nobody with a sane mind who wouldn't agree to that fact.

List 1 playoff series Jordan won without Pippen? Then tell me who the Pipp of the Cavs is? Who are these great teams MJ saw in the Finals? He faced some of the weakest big men like Duckworth, Ervin Johnson, Ostertag, Vlade. Never faced Kareem, D Rob, Moses Malone, or Hakeem in the playoffs. He never beat Parrish, so people grossly overate his comp. He beat Detroit ONCE after they beat him 3 straight years. MJ was part of the greatest tandem in history, but for the sake of shoe sales and dickriding he's sold as the greatest individual talent. LeBron is chasing Wilt for the title of GOAT, Russell for the most rings.

In order to be in the Jordan convo he would need some more rings. But as of now...He's better than Kobe and he doesn't need 5 rings to prove that.

No way Kobe could make this playoff run with this cavs team, No way...I even have my doubts about Jordan.
Jordan couldn't do it especially with Cavs squad Bron took to finals his 1st stint. If he played with players close to talent as heat squad earlier in his career he'd have way more rings.

Jordan won his titles while competing against Utah ( Malone/Stockton ), Houston ( Akeem ), Portland ( Drexler ), Lakers ( Scott, Worthy ), Phoenix (Barkley ), Sonics ( Kemp ) and remember Jordan never lost a finals. LeBron has lost 3 and got exposed by San Antonio.

Yup...

6-0 on the biggest stage

nobodys fuckin with that

Yeah they gonna be a lil nervous but I don't think the moment is going to be too big.. I mean Kerr has chips so he can settle em down and let em play

Blatt might as well sit in the locker room and let Bron coach

John Havlicek 8-0 in the Finals, 8 rings. But Jordan fans wont call him the GOAT.

*still waits to hear playoff series Jordan won by himself. He played 5 seasons without Pip.*

Perkins is a teammate...a year ago he was probably saying some good shit about Kevin Durant and calling LeBron a soft ass pussy.

Funny how youre such a big LBJ fan right now.....but the minute he went back to Cleveland you got emotional like a bitch and put some disrespectful noose & slave master type shit in your sig.

Is there anyone on BGOL thats a REAL fan of the Cavs or LBJ? Are are all you niggas just followers/bandwagoners who hope on the dick of whos hot at the moment???

Terry Teagle
Danny Ainge
Hersey Hawkins
Jeff Hornacek
Clyde Drexler

Those are the "great" shooting guards Jordan faced in the Finals. Clyde is the only one in the HOF and who averaged more than 20 ppg. The way people bag on the eastern conference is how they bagged on the west in the 90s. Just givin a more concrete picture of how OVERRATED Jordans comp is for the sake of nostalgia.

90% of Jordans fans were never Bulls fans, look at the folks in this thread, they not Bulls fans but idolize Jordan. Why wont you tell me what playoff series Jordan won without Pip?

Lebron on Jordan's back. Can't discuss rings. Rings go to the best teams not best player. Overall impact on the game and dominance. Lebron. Never been a player like him. Anytime a nigga can hold the ball 24 seconds and do
As he like productively he's a goat

Man Jordan played with the top rebounder, top defender, top foreign player, top 3 point shooter and had the best coach. What LBJ is doing is unprecedented. Closest thing is him carrying that 09 Cavs squad and AI carrying that tragic Sixers squad.

Lebron has a chance to pass Jordan IMO

Boys just trying to crown him too early

What he is doing in these playoffs is taking him up some notches real talk

Jordan ever look silly against a JJ Barea in the finals?

The difference between Jordan and Lebron is, Jordan never pulled a "no show" performance in the playoffs, win, lose, or draw. Also, Jordan faced teams with Hall of Famers in each round of the playoffs, most of the time.

not even close. Bron is not even the best at his position. That would be Larry Bird imo.

Lebron has looked terrible in far too many big games/playoff games/finals and he is playing in a no defense pro offense era.

Jordan went 6 for 6 and was dominant in ALL OF THEM. look at the per game averages, the high level defense. its not even close.

imo he has to get to six, and win WITHOUT D.Wade first before its even a consideration. and sorry Cleveland with that owner, no way this team can sustain that level of success for the next 4-10 years for him to get four more rings

Golden State is on the clock for the next Spurs like dynasty, especially if they can keep Green.

just enjoy his game, why do sports fans always have to try and compare/contrast players while they are still playing

All of this. Truth is....Lebron may not even be the greatest of his own era seeing as how he played in the same era as Kobe and Duncan. Greatest athlete of his era? Definitely...maybe ever. But greatest player? I can't crown him over Duncan or Kobe. But different folks will see it differently.

Winning...winning against the great players of your era...dominance at your position...there's a lot to consider. I think Russell was definitely the greatest of his era...just like Jordan is no doubt the greatest of his era. The current era, I can't in good faith give to LBJ while Duncan and Kobe played in the same era. And for me....the fact that his status in his own era is in question eliminates LBJ from the greatest all time conversation....for now at least. He's got more to do...we'll see how it stacks up when he's done.

True....when he came back from retirement. Bron had one of the hardest squads the league has ever seen in Miami and got embarrassed in the finals 3/4 yrs. what's your point?

I think the most amazing fact (or one of the most amazing facts) of Lebrons career and successes is that unlike his contemporaries or the all time greats he is compared against, hes the ONLY one to not only not have a great coach on staff, but he hasnt even had a head coach above mediocre status coaching him in his 6 title series appearances. That really shouldnt be overlooked.

And pig, if you dare mention Spo, i will hit the highway and come to NY and kill your fucking ass like that Bmore nigga did them NYPD cops.
