The show runners do fine with minor deviations like having Jon Snow go back and deal with the brothers who mutinied against Mormont, but Jamie in Dorne and Sansa and winterfell are not playing well so far.

Sansa supposed to be learning the game of thrones from Littlefinger, but instead she's dropped off to be raped by a cat who might be worse than Joffrey.

I guess the TV show version of Litllefinger is more sinister than the book.

I agree. What's the point of Sansa acting tough with Theon and Miranda if she gonna meekly submit to being brutalized like that?

My guess that scene was really about Theon reaching his breaking point. Overkill imo,

The cracks are definitely starting to appear with the show. Especially when they have gone "off script"
Bronn and Jamie are some of the best fighters in Westoros.
Bronn defeated a high knight from the Vale one on one.

Selmy and Grey Worm are supposed to be some prolific fighters...yet they were taken out by common folk with knives.

Hell, even Brienne defeating The Hound was bullshyt.

None of these characters were supposed to be there.

And I don't see the motivation for Sansa being in Winterfell. They could have easily introduced a Fake Arya and still had Littlefinger making the same moves.

Ehh...Same destination they say.

But the show runners fumbled here IMO with this rape scene. She reverted instantly back to dumb girl Sansa, who was powerless again. They could have had her try to seduce Ramsey or at least "appear" to be a willing participant.

How about have Bran whisper to her thru the Heartwood tree during the wedding ceremony.

They could have done so much more with that.

I think you're right, that was the Director/Writer's intent in having the camera focus on Theon's inner turmoil. He's a broken man and TV Sansa has spurned him at every chance she has. Theon probably has some guilt about how his actions hurt the Stark cause, but he's not responsible for everything bad that has happened to Sansa since she left Winterfell.

At least in the book you had fake Arya/Jeyne Poole begging Theon to free her. Thats what pushed him over the edge into action IMO.

One thing I'm curious about. I think a major book spoiler was dropped by having Tyrion meet up with Danny. That hasn't even been hinted at in the books yet.

What did Littlefinger mean when he said he had a handsome young man as a gift for Lady Olena?

Lancel doesn't make sense here. The high septon pretty much implies that Lancel confessed to him when he first joined up with the him. I read a few theories on online and the two that make the most sense are

Olyvar - Littlefinger's man whore who turned on Loras for Cersei's benefit. If he can be flipped once he can flip again, especially since Cersei is not in a position to hurt him now

Gendry - Ok, this is far less likely, but Gendry is the last remaining proof (of sorts) that Robert's true born kids look like (the whole "black of hair" thing). What makes this far fetched is how LittleFinger would manage to get his hands on Gendry assuming he even knew who he is.


Another thought occurred to me. They skipped the whole Arianne Martel seduction of Arys Oakhart subplot in the show, but I think they are setting up Bron and Tyene to play those roles now. While, Jamie tries to get to know his daughter Myrcella, I think Tyene is gonna be scheming with her sisters to get Bron to help them escape or something else. That would be a nice use of Bron and the Sand snakes.

There is no long game - the High Septon is uncompromising, and yes he is fanatical... hasn't given an inch the whole time on screen (just like in the book)... he seems measured because of the power he has from so many followers. all of the sparrows are fanatics especially those willing to scar a 7 point star into their foreheads

they are easy to manipulate as long as you are telling them what they want to hear... Cersi played along but is too self centered to really manipulate the Septon

Need more of Melisandre's back story to make a call. The other religions are based on faith with out works, but she is on a different level... and convinced cause she is able to use magic on a level that wasn't seen in the 7 kingdoms for centuries, if something or one told her it was the lord of light thats guiding her to draw on or manipulate that power, not many in that situation would be less than totally committed
