LeBron: Shumpert Will Make All-Defensive Team Soon
MAY 23, 2015 6:13 AM

LeBron James said after the Cleveland Cavaliers' Game 2 win over the Atlanta Hawks that he believes Iman Shumpert will be on the NBA All-Defensive team "very soon."

Shumpert scored 16 points with four three-pointers in the Cavaliers' win on Friday.

If he wins a title this year, with this collection...minus Love and a healthy Kyrie, gotta put him on Mt.Hoopmore.

And I believe he will beat G.S....even without a healthy Kyrie, there is simply no answer for him.

Even if he wins a title this year....he stil has a ways to go before he's with the guys thats already on "Mt.Hoopmore". But......IF HE DOES WIN a title this year..and beats GS (averaging some crazy shit like 40 12 12) .....with the lack of tools on his team...i'll give him major props.

But i really dont see the Cavs beating the Warriors. Warriors are really clicking. If they go into the FInals and Curry all of a sudden just starts sucking...i'd be SUPER shocked!!!

Theyd have to put LBJ on Curry and test the skill of the other players. But is disrupting Curry enough to disrupt the entire team??? We'll see.

I had to think a minute,and thought maybe Oscar....but,LeBron on D covers,whoever.

And the Cavs have an answer for Curry? The key is GS bench which is deeper than the Cavs non existent bench

3. This was vintage LeBron, showing everyone yet again why he is still the best player in the game. With stars dropping around him, he attacked the Hawks and DeMarre Carroll’s bad knee in the first quarter, getting into the lane and to the free-throw line to score half of the Cavs’ 26 points. Then he became more of a facilitator, dropping passes to 3-point shooters across the perimeter in piling up nine assists in the second and third quarters. Eight of the nine came on 3-pointers.

13. The Cavs are defending in these playoffs the way they did during that stretch in January that turned the entire season. From Jan. 19 until the All-Star break, the Cavs limited opponents to 41 percent shooting and 95 points per game. Through 12 playoff games now, opponents are shooting 41 percent and averaging just 91.4 points per game. No one who played a postseason game this year allowed fewer points on average.

14. “We’ve gotten smarter. We’ve ramped up our communication to a level that at times throughout the season, I didn’t know we could get to,” James said. “And we’re flying around, just helping one another in time of need.”

Each team would have to answer the other team strengths.

Both are playing their best ball...Kyrie healthy would help because the task of hiding Curry would be slightly harder...

Sticking him on Shum won't work...
With Delly starting, the defense seem a little better, because the injuries have slowed Uncle Drew over the past month... But they would gladly have him guarding Delly over Kyrie

If this was to happen, it would turn into a small ball finals...

Kyrie helps with the depth, forcing Delly back to the bench...
I would use Marion, Miller & Harris more... Just to counter the usage of the starters.
No more than 5 minutes apiece

I would've love to see a healthy cavs team @ full strength vs. GS...woulda been a good series...I wonder if love will pull a willis reed

Love ain't even coming around the team, which I think is bitch made.

You're not supporting your teammates who might get you a ring

The Cav's starters will have to play major minutes. The game is all about matchups and I actually like the Cav's starting 5 vs the Warriors. Early in this thread, I picked the Warriors to win the chip but I really think the Cav's and Lebron's championship experience can beat them.

Irving has to be healthy to match Curry, neither one of them niggas play defense so they'll be trading buckets. Mozgov will battle with Bogut. I believe Tristian Thompson will eat Draymon Green alive in the paint. Shump has to play as good enough defense on Klay as Ariza has. The Warriors do not have an answer for Lebron at all in the series which is why I think the matchup favors the Cavs.

What are the Cavs strengths outside of King LBJ???..The cavs offense is let LBJ create or Kyrie if hes healthy and they have role players take open shots; Man if Im GS, I just send different bodies on LBJ to give him different looks; Live with him hitting contested outside jumpers; Make LBJ play defense to try and tire him out somewhat(because the dude is a machine:lol:); take away Smith and Shumpert; Kyrie not healthy no one else can score...LBJ wont be able to beat GS by himself...

Trisran Thompson is the x factor. The Warriors are not a great rebounding team and Thompson should have the upper hand in the paint against a smaller Green.

Warriors are 6th in rebounds in the postseason; And they were 12th during the regular season; very solid rebounding team

GS has to limit all the role players on the Cavs, which they should be able to; No one is limiting LBJ, so u just gotta make him work on both ends; Thats all you can do with him; I think they will be able to limit the Cavs role players unlike those bitch ass Hawks...

Thats cause he doesnt plan on being there next year. Ring or not....he dont give ah fuck. Love is focusing on building his brand in that NY or LA market. I hope Jimmy doesnt join him.

Kobe will be gone sooner rather than later. The Lakers are gonna sell their next big acquisitions the idea of being the face of the franchise; right next that warm weather, fine bitches & Hollywood.

Well they played twice this year....those games were great
Football keep some of us from seeing great regular season games...

It's funny you said this, I was looking for him on the bench last night...
Maybe he's getting round the block treatment....in hopes of coming back for the finals, if they made it

Well just read that Kyle Korver is out for the remainder if the Hawks weren't done before.:smh:

yeah..its on the rotowire.... so i thinks its real.

Hawks werent gonna make it anyways...but still.

For those that want to see their fav teams win a chip....its great news...cause it means the road to a title wil be easier. But from the perspective of someone who wants to see a good series/good game.....this type of news sucks.

thats why a lot of kats on ESPN picked the Warrior to win it all earlier in the second round.
Mainly because theyre the healthiest team.

Go visit the thread about athletes and taxes. Might explain him not being there.
