I was thinking of doing the same thing, but saw this while I was in Cabela's a while back. It's not fire-proof and as sturdy/solid as a safe that you'd store your firearms in, but this does exactly what I needed. Not too big footprint and stores a ton of rounds.

I finally picked up my EVO. Where did you source the proper stock from? Any luck locating 30 round mags?
LOL the AR stock didn't fit the look I wanted so I created an eBay listing for the air-soft gun without the stock for $399. When it sold I bought the air-soft gun from evike they had free 2 day shipping so when I got it took the stock off and shipped it same day.
I bought 5 30 rounders from the Czech CZ site http://www.shop-cz.com/when they had them in stock. Was a little less and got to me in 3 days from the Czech republic. Should've bought more they going for 100+ for one mag on gunbroker.

I honestly bought my 300 to be "that gun" but depending on how quiet and reliable the salvo runs on my sbs vepr 12 I may just keep both close. The recoil is the difference to me the shotty is gonna kick but both get the job done.

Cool, CZ is coming out with a stock kit that includes the stock of course but also the parts to swap out for 922 compliance
which is dumb. You pay the tax to sbr it and then they say oh yeah it's outta compliance...why approve the form 1 then? 
Damn a 30s that's a compact bone crusher with that 45 pill. I got a 33 sub compact in 357sig. It's a snappy ass beast but once I bought the 42 the small size and weight has made it my carry gun espically for the summer or warmer months.

The 30S only has a slim slide, the 30SF & Gen4 30 (adopted the dimensions of the SF so for Gen4 there wouldn't be a 30 & a 30SF) both have the small frame.
I shot a Gen 3 30 and I liked it. Comes with 10 rd mags and accepts the Glock 21 mags, with the grip extension it's 13+1 rds of FOE FEEVA!

I held a 30 and a 30S today both Gen 4, the 30S had a slimmer grip than the 30, didn't see a 30SF while I was there, not sure if that was one of the changes they made with the Gen 4, but the difference was definitely more than just the slide.
