People with coarse facial hair who cant use razors, what kind of trimmers do you use?

I tried to shave this morning using my Wahl trimmers but they just aren't getting the job done like they used to. Frustrated, I just gave up. It seems like the older I get the more coarse my facial hair gets. I quit using razors years ago because I get razor bumps. Magic Shave works; but, because I have sensitive skin, sometimes it gives me chemical burns so I prefer not to use it.

The only time I have a clean close shave is when my barber shaves me during a haircut. But he's by appointment only, and he's not cheap. Last week when he shaved me I asked him what he recommended for me. He said that I should go to Sally and get some trimmers with a strong motor. I looked online at Sally but they have so many choices I don't know what to buy. I'd hate to drop $100 on the wrong trimmers.

So can anyone who has thick, coarse, facial hair who uses trimmers recommend a good brand and model of facial trimmers?

Join the BEARD GANG.

But if your blades are dull. Tell your barber. He can look at them and tell you if they needed to be realigned or if you'll need a new blade.

Andis T-Outliners

Use a safety razor.

Make sure to switch your blades out every couple shaves. Never had any problems with those.

The disposables pull the hair up and cut it so your hair starts growing under the skin.

This ^^^^^^^.…blades must be maintained... Cleaned , sharpened, lubricated...

Straight razors will give you ingrowns, the only way to prevent ingrowns is to use a trimmer like the andis T-outliner to keep hair above the skin.

Andis T-Outliners

This, Only shave twice a week tops
and after every shaving use Witch Hazel as an
aftershave. Check your face for ingrown hairs
occasionally for any single hairs

Re: People with coarse facial hair who cant use razors, what kind of trimmers do you

Try using Tend Skin after using an improved razor. If that doesn't work, get a t-liner like everyone else mentioned

and follow it up with pure alcohol as an aftershave.

just joking. follow the advice of the brother, MadWun below; that's the same routine i use.:yes::yes:

Along with the T-Outliners, I use these too:

WAHL 5 Star Shaver Professional Hair Trimmer

But my barber uses this 2 in 1 Andis joint and I'm getting one for myself soon:

Andis Superliner Trimmer/ Shaver Bonus Attachment 395811

The process is simple:

Shave with the T-Outliners
Then go over it with the WAHLs to get a closer cleaner shave.

Thanks for the drop ima pick up a pair of those andis t-liners. I was thinking about using the razors again. Because I wasnt getting that close shave feel with the trimmers im currently using. Also I use the 5 star wahl super shaver but that shit havent been getting the job done. Btw does anybody know what I can use to get rid of the razor burn marks?

Re: People with coarse facial hair who cant use razors, what kind of trimmers do you

I only grow a limited amount of facial hair, but if I didn't, I'd use bevel because combat jack told me to.

What's good with this bruh, I got my gramps genes so I'm fitting to start shaving my head. I don't wanna look like t Suggs tho.

Is this a good program? Cuz it's gotta be better than 20 a week for close cuts

...but don't go too close with the walh's, because they can get pretty close. light strokes of the WAHL's and you're fine.

Re: People with coarse facial hair who cant use razors, what kind of trimmers do you

I bought the Andis T Outliners and I couldn't be more pleased with them. The suggestion to buy them was the best advice I've got on BGOL in a long time. They cut razor close: so close, in fact, that I don't think I need anything else.

My only complaint about them, which isn't really a complaint, is that they cut too good. They are unforgiving. I decided to line my goatee up last night before going out and I made a mistake. I had to make my goatee a lot thinner than I like to wear it to compensate for that mistake. With my punk-ass Wahls that mistake wouldn't have been noticeable. But those T-Liners aint no joke.

These are the first pair of professional clippers I've ever owned. I'm middle aged now, but I'm thinking about finally learning how to cut my own hair. Although my regular barber cuts my hair way better than I'd ever expect to, he kind of ignores my wishes. I'm a 360 waver, and after I wolf I like all my hair cut with a 1.5 blade. That is, all my hair except for my crown area.

My crown grows slow as fuck and takes forever, it seems, to close after it gets cut with a 1.5. So I ask him to cut my crown with a 2 guard. But he never does. So I'm thinking I should learn to cut my hair myself.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good professional cut quality, yet easy enough for beginners to use, set of hair clippers?
