As far as folks who Interview / Review Rap Battlers on YouTube.... These (4) vloggers have the LARGEST amount of 'followers'... and are the 'most respected' by the actual 'battle emcees' themselves...

Co-sign - I agree about ThatShitIsHotSunLive, HipHopIsReal, BattleRap.com.

But VladTV isn't 'exclusively' about battle rap tho... like the others.

Vlad will interview Mook & Lux, then some Porn Stars, Pro Wrestlers and maybe an NFL Player or 2....plus the entire cast of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" & Justin Bieber all on the same day.

To me, Vlad is more like a "Howard Stern of Controversial Urban Culture", imo.

He uses 'controversial topics' to stay relevant & drive traffic to his channel... He's kinda like a 'Worldstar of Urban Celebrity Thoughts & Opinions', so to speak.

He found his 'niche'. It's working for him. So be it.

I get the feeling he only interviews 'battle rappers' because 'music sales' have fallen way off (in general).

So ALOT of 'industry artists' have nothing to talk about when their records are flopping .. meanwhile the 'buzz' of the battle rap culture is growing.

If we was in the years 2001-2003... (waaay back when Smack was selling DVDs )... and battle rap is almost as popular as it is today....Vlad would be interviewing Bad Boy, Timberland, Neptunes, G-Unit & Rocafella Artists instead, all day long.

He wouldn't have ANY 'battle rappers' sitting on his couch while so many Artists had 'platinum' records out..
Just my opinion.

(The lightskin brotha - Mike Hughes - is the guy who all the battle rappers recognize at the battles events. He does the majority of the 'battle rap' interviews on VladTV from what i can tell. )

What they SHOULD DO for the next season of 'Total Slaughter' is....

• Keep the same format as last year...
• ie Have 8-10 emcees live in a house & hold another tournament...
• But the top 3 Winners get to choose a 'Main Event' matchup with either: Royce, Joell, or Crooked.
• But they cannot all choose the same person.
• Or put all their names in a hat... end let the Top 3 Winners each pick a random Slaughterhouse member.

- If Winner 1 Chooses Royce...
- And Winner 2 Chooses between Crooked & Joell...
- Then Winner 3 automatically gets whoever is left.

Grand Finale

These will be the (3) 'Main Event' Battles for the 'Live Show' at a big venue (Like Hammerstein Ballroom again).
Plus throw a few smaller (Smack) matchups on the 'undercard'.

And...

Any thoughts?

Cool idea, a disadvantage to the slaughterhouse dudes though cause they would get less time to prep. The battlers gonna have who they want to battle in their head already if they win and probably be writing for them well in advance.

But that's why I was saying let the winners draw names out of a hat. To make it random.

Also the TV show finishes taping a few months before the live event... So everyone would get the same amount of 'prep time' for a main event battle.. Like 2-4 months, or so.

That way the Slaughterhouse emcees only have to focus on writing bars for just their opponent. Not everybody else.
