BC just battled Big Kannon dropping on the 21st i think.
Joe Budden's performance was horrible and part of that was having the hand mic which takes away from the performance of the rhymes. Hitman Holla is arguably the best performer in battle rap and his battle with Hollow was effected in the same way for the same reason. With that said the mics weren't the main reason Budden just wasn't good in that aspect. And Hollow was wack in that battle. He wasn't even half as good as he was in the Lux battle and he was losing.
watching the battle again..... i dont think thats a choke by Cassidy, it was just kinda a lame fakeout

Man, an active battle rapper couldn't say most of the shit Cass said.
They were just KILLING Big T this summer for this 'I'm nuts like Cashews' line.
These industry niggas are being given an unfair advantage. They are being allowed to have substandard performances, and being given the win, or almost being given the win. Like I said earlier, if ANY battler had delivered their bars, and performed like Budden, they would have boo'd that nigga out of battle rap.
Cassidy had a few bright spots, but for the most part...

Not sure what page it is but when tho match up first got set up, I actually typed a "DiZaSTeR impersonation" and this guy used it. Cass is lurking on the forum man.

Thats the thing though all these active battlers starting to sound the same and boring too. All he gotta do is learn how to perform. Be honest Mook spit some of the most basic shit when he battle, he just exposes niggas and make them look whack and performs his ass off but he never say nothing too crazy.
I'm not saying that battle rap doesn't have its own issues...
...but spitting ABC bars ain't the answer. Also, while Mook shit may be simple, it ain't Cassiday simple. Charlie Clips is basic...

Not to mention, what did Cassidy do to distinguish himself from other battlers?
He did better than Budden, but no top tier battler could have spit those elementary bars and not get booed to tears.
My point is just these battlers not killing these industry dudes so they cant be mad if they keep coming and taking their money. Simple bars or not a body is a body and they destroying these dudes. I would take it like im gonna destroy this industry nigga then demand i get what he got for my next battle. Its kinda like how them mma dudes had to let Kimbo know dont come here with that bs and he didnt even make it to a top tier mma fighter.

Also, I think these niggas are gettin' flustered - Hollow mentioned this in an interview - because dudes are gettin' praise for shit that normal opponents would NEVER get praise for. They battle rapper than do what he do, which is clearly of a higher level, and get the same praise or less.
People dick ride industry dudes in these battles horribly.
Its to be expected at the event, because the reason they can pay these guys so much money, is because the fans of the industry niggas flood the event to see them battle.
Many aren't battle rap fans, and don't know what quality is...
...so they find themselves cheering for the industry nigga 'cause thats who they came to see.
I'm sorry, but Joe Budden performance was WOEFUL. Fucking WOEFUL. His bars were good to very good at times, but his delivery sucked.
How can they praise that man for that shit?

I didn't have much issue with Cass performance, but most of them bars were fucking elementary as fuck, and will get even the most popular top-tier battler boo'd back to their home state.

An industry rapper will attract more than even the no. 1 battler...
...so they get paid more.
My problem with Cass is how much SHIT that nigga talked about being the best and untouchable, then he spit THAT shit. People on Twitter gassin' him up talking about, 'They put their best battler forward, and you proved you're the best in the world!!' GTFOHWTBS!!!

For a dude who hasn't had a battle in 12 years..to come in and even make it debatable with a dude who been battling frequently for the last 6.. Gotta give him his props.. Cassidy has work to do but he will only get better.

Sure, you may not be as sharp as before, but once you start preparing for the battle, you feel it coming back.
I see the potential in Cass. I will admit that.
Eventually, fans will get over the novelty of it being Cass, and hold him to the same standards are career battlers...
...but if he can meet that challenge, battle rap can feed him a lot better than music probably is right now. He will always be able to command top dollar for his battles based on name alone.

Mook is not the craziest lyrically...
...but neither is Clips.
At the same time, the super-lyricists end up losing battles, or having battles deemed debatable, largely because the average fan can't and/or won't take the time to break their shit down. It can be impossible in the house. I know that has been a problem for Lux...
...but Cortez has that issue. So does Xcel. Daylyt is very intricate too.
If Lux had gone in there, and battled with less intricate bars against Mook, and really TALKED to Mook like Mook was talking to him...
...it would have at least been debatable. If you check the record, Lux get his biggest oohs and aahs from when he's easy to grasp, but at a nigga neck with aggression and haymakers.
What Mook lacks in lyricism, he makes up for in projection, stage presence, and angles. He will angle you into oblivion.
...and once again, he nor Clips are Cassidy simple. They just aren't Shakespearean. lol.

I just would think these battlers who get a shot a an industry rapper would bring their best battle bars ever and they not. Cass and Joe Budden got paid alot to battle but it was also their opponents biggest check too gotta keep that in mind. So if this the most you ever got to battle why isnt it your best performance.
Cassidy would've gotten booed by the 2nd round had he kept going that night.
The impersonation he did of Diz was good though and would've worked anywhere.
The problem is those shitty events they make so big when an industry rapper comes in are too big and unorganized.
But when they move into a smaller room it isn't a good representation of what has made the genre so big

I was wondering what you meant but damn seeing it was so much better than knowing what was coming. It didn't what he said the crowd was going to clown at a certain point. Tyranny has some bars but to me he's a poor man's version of Heartless that tries to be aggressive at times.
The other dude is nice. Bars are good enough, performance and he won this battle by taking an angle. He definitely could become someone to watch for.
