{~~~Guns, Guns and Mo' Guns - The Right To Keep And Bear Arms~~~}

380 is a good caliber for a female. Only thing I would've done different is got a compact one, something like the M&P Shield 380 that she could also carry in her purse. I know people talk about stopping power a lot, but trust me, a well placed shot with a 380 and aint nobody gonna keep coming at you. FYI the caliber that causes the most deaths in the US is 22.

380 or 9mm is a good concealed carry caliber. It's not about "stopping power" with 9mm, .40, or .45. Most people survive most gunshot wounds, period. They come in the ER ALL THE TIME and are walking out in a couple days. Rifles on the other hand...

Like you said, a well placed shot will get the job done, but unless you've really trained to fight with your handgun (getoffthex.com or tacticalresponse.com- see fighting pistol), it's more luck than anything. Honestly, 9mm round to the chest feels like a 10 lb. weight dropped from about 3 inches if you're lying on the ground. Only way it's going to kill you is if it hits a major vessel and you bleed out, or damages vital brain tissue. Again, most people can't hit those areas when the SHTF.

tell that to the thousands who die annually from a gsw!

I'm looking to buy an AR-15. I'm a former marine and would like a milspect 20" barrel. Any suggestions?

Aight, I'm good on tools (or I just don't need to spend no mo money right now).

I wanna get some accessories now.

Anybody have experience with guide rod lasers?

I'm also looking for a light or laser for shotguns, should I be looking at a IFL? What's the downside to an IFL?

I still ain't got red dots for the 7.62's. I think I'ma just get an Ultimak gas tube rail for the K's, but I'm not sure of the best mount for an SKS.

Leaning towards this one...

went to the gunshow this morning in Mesquite....might go back tomorrow if i got time...
copped a Taurus 9mm (18+1) for $250 (plus they threw in a box of fmj rounds).... and a Bersa .380 (7+1) for $229.
my daughter is going to be taking a gun safety class, and im going to give that .380 to her to keep in her apartment.

I have a few issues with the .380. I won't make this a debate, what I will say is women usually have problems racking the slides of small .380's. Because of there small size, and stout springs. Some find it very difficult to make ready their F/A's. Way back when, I bought my GF a Bersa. She was never able to consistently charge the slide. I'd suggest making sure your daughter is able to cycle the F/A consistently, before using it for SD/HD.

How do you like the trigger on that joint?
Man, I'm bout through with my sigmas!

I got the SW40ve and I'm driving home Tuesday evening and see a fat ass possum. ...I grab da scrap & jump out the truck!

I aim (not using sights), and let off four....muhfucka still waddling away. I missed!

Ain't no way around it, trigger jobs, I'm getting em!

And the thing about Sigmas is not only the heavy trigger pull, but it's also a LONG trigger pull AND long reset.

If that was my glock, sumbitch woulda had a thumb hole in his hind parts

Yeah, I've hear nothing but horror stories about the Sigma's trigger. I know there has been tons of positive feedback on Apex triggers for the M&P. The Apex is said to sort out all the M&P's inherent trigger issues. I don't know if there is a plug and play solution for the Sigma's.

a. 1 in head.

b. load(insert magazine) while locked open,

hit slide release. loaded, hit safety.

You still need to rack the slide to put the round in the chamber, that's where the problem starts and ends. No way around it bro...... Well, except a revolver.

Why you suggest Daniel Defense?

I don't have an AR yet, but I want to get one that's solid and not all tacticool'd out for no reason. I see a lot of PSA (palmetto state armory) AR'S but every since I seen that PSA made these

I saw a YouTube review of thr DDM4V8 by Colion Noir (some black guy) and I liked it. I'm thinking about the DDM4 and a Spikes.
I really need to figure out what caliber, 7.62x39 or 300 blk (for suppression). I don't think I want a 556, but I probably need one just in case some "I Am Legend" shit happens and I run outta ammo and all I can find is the American Standard .223/.556.

nah you dont(technically)!

but, you do need to rack it back to lock it.

you are correct, no matter what slide has to be racked

for round to be chambered.

If you decide to run .300 Blk, and still want to shoot 5.56. You can get 5.56 barrel and run it in the same gun. The bolt, bolt carrier, and magazines are the same. If it were me, I would get a dedicated 5.56 upper, and be done with it.... Or just build all 3 :D

Hmm...one lower with 3 dedicated uppers for 7.62x39, .300 blk, & .556?

Pretty much plug and play with the .300 BLK and 5.56. The most difficult to get to run reliably being the 7.62. This is the kit I used when I was tinkering with 7.62 AR's. I never did get that sumbitch to run 100%. In all fairness, there have been many dudes that have had great success with the 7.62 Ar's, since my attempts.

Cool. I'm cooling out on buying anything but ammo & accessories for right now.

Guns are addicting

Yep, my female friend had the same problem. It was hell breaking it down too.

Does anybody know is da PX4 storm. 40 cal compact take extended clips??? I've gotten different answers from two gun shop reps. O e say that it has a 20 rd extendo & da other says it doesn't have extended clips.

This is the EXACT gun I have and I've seen nothing about extended clips...

If you find it please let me know because I'd be very interested in purchasing it myself

**edit - mine is the sub compact. I'm thinking of taking it back and getting the compact though...

I’m just out here working hard every single day, just trying to be the best poster I can be....

I'm gettin' da compact. I swear one of 'em said verbatim "it can hold an extended 20 rd. magazine but it'd stick out" to which I said "ok". AND various message boards also says there's one for it as well including one that holds 17 rds. Idk. :dunno:

So, just finished browsing a gun forum. Da full size PX4 storm only uses full size mags which are 17 rds. Da compact can fit full size mags & da subcompact can fit full, compact & sub compact mags. And of course, da shit will stick out. Now, all I wanna find out now is these phantom 20 rd. clips for da compact that I was told about. Mec gar is a non factory site but it doesn't have what I was lookin' for. I'ma get this sum'bitch as a X-mas present to myself. After that, da 4th gen G19 & I'll get a 50 rd & 100 rd drum for that bitch.

Aye, will you post a review of the PX4 Storm when you get it & shoot it ?

Compared to like other guns in that same category like the xd or glock equivalent.

I hear you. First thing my uncle said when I grabbed one.."got you a scrap truck gun huh"

country ass dude though and he don't realize, for one..it's hella good priced, and 2, it's a glock rip off, in every since. This SD series is not the sigmas. I like the trigger, even at 8lbs, i dont have issue with it and the accuracy on the 40 for me is stellar. got decent sites, but you know the m&p series is supposed to be there breadwinner.

that apex trigger kit supposed to be worth. the homie who is a smith, said he had issues and had to file shit down on some of em to install the kit. all in all, that heavy trigger is a self defense-value enhanced trigger for the sdve40/9, you mess with it and have to pop one of those fat whiteboys out there flexin his confederate flag and pistol, prosecutors gonna question that trigger job. they go hard on every level now when blacks pop an intruder our life threatening racist
