The way to endorse non violence is to only speak of non violence and not endorse ANY violence, which is not what any of these supposed holy books do.

Fortunately the culture we live in in this world is predominately non violent. Islam doesn't get credit for that, humanity does.

You can have your opinion of what it's all about all day, but the written words have violence all throughout. Thankfully most of it goes ignored.

And yes, anyone can be found and killed, but no one here in THIS Country, that is not ruled by sharia law can get away with killing Maher legally. As well as Rushdie. He left his country because it would have been totally fine to murder him there. People love their religions but reality sets in In countries who would not support a religious killing.

I am telling you what I know being someone who has a parent as well as other family members who are Muslim that not every Muslim subscribes to extremism and fanaticism. Also, like any other major religion, you have people who take passages from holy texts, misinterpret said passages in order to achieve a particular agenda.

Lastly, why would I go to a Christian to tell me about Islam? Why would I go to a Jewish person to tell me about Buddhism? It makes no sense. Oh, who said that a person would get away with murdering Maher? My point is that if Islam was about killing non-believers, then a whole lot of people here would have been killed. Muslims refer to Christians as people of the book. And Islam means Peace, so why would a religion that means peace would promote violence?

Someone posted pictures of religious fanatics which does not represent over one billion plus Muslims. You can not go to one region of the world and use that region to make sweeping generalizations. Besides, Christians can not talk shit about people killing people in the name of religion when they also participated in the Crusades, slaughtered millions of indigenous people in the Americas and used Christianity to practice chattel slavery.

If you wanna know about Islam, then go to the nearest Masjid and speak to an Imam. I guarantee you that he will not talk about fanatical bs. Once again, people incorporate culture with religion. Know the difference before placing judgment.

You have to know the definition of something if you're going to go telling it to people and using it in your argument.

And you have to stop asserting what someone knows of doesn't know especially when you've proven blatantly that you don't.

I know the difference between a religion and a culture. I also know that this religion arose from a particular culture that includes people who actually think they have a bloodline to the creator of said religion and some. Of them may be right. They don't respect the other cultures version of the religion or those other cultures. The authoritative book on that religion emerges from that culture as well and reflects it's values, from that ancient time. And some dummies in other cultures come to it with their own values and try to make sense of it.

But what do you care and why defend it? You don't even believe in it. So stfu.
