I said this same thing a few posts back and theorized what happened, which makes a LOT of sense.
Mike pays for cigars, hands them to his boy
Clerk starts bugging about ID, so D puts the cigars back on the counter thinking they shit outta luck
Mike says FUCK THAT YOU GOT MY MONEY I'M GETTING CIGARS and takes what he feel is equivalent for what he paid
Clerk comes around the corner to lock the door and terminate the sale, but mike push him out the way
This explains why there was no call from the store clerk for a robbery. He knows that if he reports it he gets ticketed, fined, and possibly lose his license if it's not his first offense.
So this brings in the question, why was it written up as a strong arm robbery on the police report? The fix was in from word say go
