It's not the truth. The world knows about Chicago. It's an international news. When Philly was murder capital, BBC came and did a documentary on it.
There are marches, vigils, rallies in the hood around the violence all the time. The news just doesn't cover it
I posted a vid earlier of an anti-violence rally that drew 20,000 people. Ironically, it was in St. Louis. You would think if 20,000 ppl showed up for anything it would make the news, but no one heard about it. Black people have screamed at the top of their lungs for justice for so called black on black crime, it goes unheeded, unreported, ignored and dismissed and then we get told no one tried to do anything in the first place.
Why do we have a black and missing organization? It's because when black kids go missing we can't get media attention. White kids go missing, something is WRONG. They take the parents word regarding the habits and character of the child and put together a search party. If a black kid is missing the parents have to prove they weren't troublemakers or runaways and get virtually no assistance locally let alone nationally. If a white person commits a crime something is WRONG. They need guidance and counseling to figure out what made them deviate from the "norm". If a black person commits a crime, well that IS the norm. We just need a bullet to the head or life in prison because we will only get more violent and come for you next since you know black people can't be reformed or redeemed. ..smh....
The lack of regard for the troubles of black folx is not new, it has a decades long precedent. We seek intervention from law enforcement/legal system or local authority, get rebuffed or ignored, and then blamed when the situation continues or escalates. We get told the troubles continue because it is our animal nature that brings it on and we are inherently evil or morally lacking in some way or because we are too lazy and shiftless to care. There isn't a society ever established that didn't have a jail or a set of laws and punishment in place because of a certain criminal element that is present whenever you have people living together, but black people are the only ones who get told that criminal tendencies are inherent to the character of our race, a part of our dna. Since we are viewed as inherently violent and defective, our issues are not seen as steming from problems to be solved, they are seen as steming from an entire race that needs to be controlled, caged or eliminated. I can see an outsider having that view, but why do so many blacks who should know better believe the propaganda and share this view and believe they are the only exception to it?
