The treated for injuries statement can be some incredibly bullshit. It's such a general term that it could mean anything, and the police always put that shit out there to garner sympathy for the cop and a tool to lowkey justify whatever force (deadly or otherwise) was used. It's standard procedure for police chiefs to tell officers involved in any force to 1.) shut the fuck / say nothing and 2.) go to the hospital and "get treated."
