Miami Heat president Pat Riley issued a statement on LeBron James' departure on Friday evening, via the team's website

While I am disappointed by LeBron's decision to leave Miami, no one can fault another person for wanting to return home. The last four years have been an incredible run for South Florida, HEAT fans, our organization and for all of the players who were a part of it. LeBron is a fantastic leader, athlete, teammate and person, and we are all sorry to see him go.

Over the last 19yrs, since Micky and I teamed together, The Miami HEAT has always been a championship organization; we’ve won multiple championships and competed for many others. Micky, Erik and I remain committed to doing whatever it takes to win and compete for championships for many years to come. We’ve proven that we can do it and we’ll do it again.

Now that's a classy way to say goodbye, and not something Riley is going to have to apologize for in a few years. It's a bit of a rallying cry and an expression of empathy for the fans, but it also shows Riley knows the Heat were fortunate to have the success they did with James. That's how to handle a superstar leaving.

Asik is an asset. Plus he makes only 8milb towards the cap so that's a steal for what he provides. We can get something for him.

Plus we could always match Parsons offer sheet then trade him somewhere else. We got the room now to take back salary with Lin off our books

Parson's contract comes with i think a 1 year no trade clause and its poison pilled. Cuban made it really nasty

Cavs going to sign Miller, Birdman, and Ray....

Yea I was telling the cats at work, who was talking about the youth on the roster. I was like don't blank your eyes because when Lebron James is done, there will be a few old heads there.

I'd take Parsons back tho.

I mean our starting 5 would still be intact and Nick Johnson is more 2nd round gold

But my major question is which pick did we send with Lin? Was it our pick our the pelican's pick?

Pelican's pick is a lottery pick no doubt whereas our pick would be in the bottom quarter of the first round

And if you're asking the OKC's "plan B," I don't have any reason to believe there is one. Gasol was getting every ounce of OKC's attention.

Mike Miller's interest in joining the Cavaliers is serious, and he will listen to what they have to say, I've been told.

Heat still gotta give him 6 mill next year??? He can get as little as 2-3 from the cavs and stil be good as far as cash is concerned.

 Cavs can wait until the deadline. They aren't hurting. Love is walking. Timberwolves will be begging for what the Cavs are offering. Just wait.

Hell, who knows how Wiggins will shine playing with Lebron. He can live off cuts and open shots.

So it's Pau to San Antonio if Chicago can't work out a sign and trade with us

Timmy might get his first back to back

And thats why I fucks wit the Heat. A class organization. Only expansion of the last 25 years to win a chip (3). They helped Inkosi become a champion FIRST and no one can ever take that away bruh.

Damn. I hope Chicago can work out a deal for Pau. Don't want to see him land on OKC or SAS.

I am watching the raptors vs lakers summer league game in vegas

and they are reporting Pau Gasol might sign with Spurs

If this is true that would be a perfect fit for the Spurs and Gasol

One Western Conference exec said Bosh "pump faked" the Rockets. He wondered if they still would've made the Jeremy Lin trade.

Jeff Caplan @Caplan_NBA about 11 minutes ago
Geesh, I forgot about Melo. What's he up to?

Meanwhile, Napier had yet another flat out putrid performance in summer league against future grocery baggers. :smh:

Okay, I thought it was me. I've seen him in 2 games, and he didn't look so good. Gonna check out Wiggins and Parker tonight. 8pm EST on NBA TV
