~*~2014 NBA OffSeason Thread - Free Agency Starts - 7/1 12am ~*~

No he wasn't

Aight he raised his value but before that tournament that cat was projected to go in the 2nd round in most mock drafts. Lebron spoke and he ROSE the fuck up.

Heat could've had him if those rumors of them wanting him didn't come out. HE would've fell to them due to his size.

Danny with the Yankees now

How the hell you figure he don't miss money because he get a 5th year in Miami? U killing me acting like a rich ninja with money don't want to be a RICHER ninja with MORE money :smh:

dude said oh it's just 15 million  then he says he can make nearly as much playing an extra year

I honestly thought when I saw this .gif Melo wasn't coming back to NY. I thought this was that moment he regretted coming to the Knicks. I can just see the look in his face

well essentially we should know what's up w/ LBJ later on today :dunno: I expect him to stay but ready as hell to laugh @ heat "fans" if he don't...there won't be any heat threads on the board next season if he leaves...none

I kind of want him to stay.........but the greatness that would come from Heat fans if he leaves.......its gonna be far better than the Cavs shit.

I guess it goes back to the "Who the hell wants to go play in Charlotte" argument but damn......nobody wants to play for MJ?

nah that ain't it lol

i can never accept that man, you know what you do when people don't wanna come play for you? draft better

draft stars and put together a great team through the draft

don't nobody wanna go to OKC but they drafted a contender lol.

that's the only way to win. draft and keep drafting and making real good moves

just because you got a surplus of money don't mean you GOTTA offer gordon haywood the max.. just to say you got a max player lol

Yeah but what do you do when you can't draft either? And now they're making the playoffs now so now they have any worse chances to get solid players on that team.

Gordon Hayward signed a 4 year, $63 million deal - I don't want to hear anyone complain about the contract Kobe got.

never average 20 and 10 in his 4 year career and his defense aint all that either.
He got over!!
...imho

As for Kobe......that was one of them "we respect what you did for us" deals.
Similar to when Jordan got those two 30+mill deals for those two years.
Difference is Kobe aint a MJ type player...great MJ imitator...but not MJ.
He never really carried the Lakers either.
Hence....he didnt deserve what he got.

Imitator or not, those dollars the Buss family has made off of him weren't counterfeit.

So he's making, what, $5 million a year less than Gordon Hayward for the next two years? You're going to argue that he doesn't deserve that? Seriously? I don't care if the Hayward contract is said to be a bad one or not-- The fact that it's even conceivable makes Bryant's earning unquestionable.

I don't mind Kobe's as much, because it was only for two years

But I said it before and I will say it again, Miami expects Deng and Gasol to go for below what Channing fucking Frye and Boris Diaw made....much less Bosh and Gordon Hayward? a fucking non all star. I've never heard of him even getting snubbed.

Utah will probably match it, who else are they over paying? Favors?

I have no problem with him getting his money. And we all know the owners will ALWAYS make more money off the players than the players will make working for the owners.

Like i stated...this last contract was like a "thanks for what u gave us" deal. I think they did the same with Magic and a few other HOF Lakers players after they past their primes.

Stilll.....Kobe is no longer a 24 mill a year player. ...Just like Hayward aint worth a Max deal.
I could understand Shaq getting that type of treatment from the Lakers (cause he was the captain of that boat) but not Kobe.

Why not Kobe? Kobe sells the jerseys and brings the fans out.

Some people even say he's the best Laker ever(including Magic and Jerry)...which I think is bullshit, and people living in the moment.

I bet nobody has a Hayward jersey outside of Utah besides his family.

That plays for a sorry team and still hasn't averaged over 17 points

Damn I like this Haywood signing for the hornets...
outside scoring, the price is another story but hey that's what they feel he'sworth at this point...

All the people saying the Jazz were just smoke screening that they are going to match a max deal are about to get very quiet

You dudes are actually going to argue with Chitownheadbussa about Kobe?

I would bet my bottom dollar, if you search "Kobe" under his name...

...over 80% of his posts will have him saying how much of a Jordan imitator Kobe is.

It's like, 'Ok, nigga ... we get it. You don't like that Kobe copied Jordan's style!'

Dude is as obsessed with Kobe imitating Jordan as Kobe is with Jordan. :smh:

That's assuming he'll even play enough minutes to average 13pts and 9 rebounds

and as of right now, he's going to be the starter for the heat because who else do they have or going to have to play along side bosh? especially if gasol goes out the window...

it's not a splash move imo.

lebron made it clear he wants a splash.

The Heat don't need a splash free agent. You act like the Heat struggling to win games or something. Besides the Spurs, no one came close to challenging Miami.

If Miami had a splash free agent the Heat would win damn near 80 games.

I just wanna see dudes reactions when Bron re-ups and all this comes together. All these opposing "fans" of other teams will be crying and or sayin the Heat still cant win blah, blah, blah. They care more about the Heat than their boring no-chance-in-hell-to-win-it-all squads, which I guess makes them "wannabe Heat fans". Its gon be Foxnews in hurr when these young black men dont split up over money.
