Speculation on LeBron's 2014 free agency already in high gear!!!

So u ninjas just gonna sit here and act like the nigga ain't getting his post up game ready for when he starts to decline in speed?

We can agree he will adjust. He has Karl Malone's body but he neglected adding a post up game for years. Should have been working on post moves earlier in his career. He is talented and a fast learner but years of preparation would have helped.

Or y'all ninjas just going to forget Bron's bball IQ is through the roof?

No argument on his smarts. Weight will be an issue later in his career rather or not his fans want to admit it. Jumping up and down at that weight will wear on them knees no matter who you are.

In 2 yrs Durant will still be the 2nd best player lmao

We don't know about that. Nobody is a basketball Nostradamus. Too many "what if's" can happen in the next two years. I hope no bad "what if's" happen.

LeBron, D-Wade deflect '14 free agency questions

The Heat don't want to talk about 2014. There's a three-peat at stake and an entire season yet to play, but a large focus of the Miami Heat's media day on Monday was about next summer.

Why? Because LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh could all potentially be free agent should they choose to exercise their early termination options.

Both Wade and LeBron were peppered with questions, and they did their best to deflect and dismiss.

"For me, being a leader of this team, I owe it to this organization, to my teammates to not get involved in it, to not talk about it," James told reporters. "I'm not going to address it.

"Once we get to that point, I'll address it," he said. "I don't think it's appropriate to talk about it right now."

There's a pretty consensus feeling that everything hinges on LeBron, and that Wade's future is mostly sealed already in Miami. So he really didn't even have to deal with too many queries about his own free agency, but rather LeBron's. But he's not worried.

"You have concern when you feel people want to go elsewhere," Wade said. "I don't think nobody is looking to go elsewhere.

"We all know inside our locker room that LeBron is committed to this team."

Again, the pending 2013-14 season might have a lot to do with what LeBron decides to do, because as Chris Bosh recently said, it would be hard to break up a team that just three-peated. But an issue standing in the way of that, and therefore LeBron's future in Miami, could be Wade's health. His knees have become a persistent bother for the Heat, and almost were partially responsible for an early exit from the postseason. Asked if his health might be a factor, Wade knocked that one away too.

"Don't try to put that pressure on me," Wade said. "You can stop that right now."

Wade has undergone treatment on his knees and according to LeBron, health might not be an issue this season anyway.

"Hes healthier now than he has been since probably our first training camp together," LeBron said.

And if that's the case, Miami might win everything in 2014 -- another title, and the derby to lock up LeBron.

LeBron's wife to open Miami juice bar

After years of hearing her husband talk about his business projects, LeBron James' wife Savannah will start her own juice business next month.

"I would listen to him talk about his conversations with Warren Buffett or Jerry Jones," she said. "But I wanted to get into business, too."

The store, called The Juice Spot, is expected to open in the Brickell neighborhood in Miami in the first week of December.

The idea of selling juice, Savannah James said, came from making healthy potions with her trainer to get in shape for the couple's wedding in September.

James said her husband will stand behind her, but that this will very much be her own project.

"LeBron's connection to my company is that he supports me," she said. "But this going to my baby."

The business will sell cold-pressed juices, a relatively recent phenomenon where fruits and vegetables are squeezed at high pressure to create a more dense product that some believe help preserve the ingredients better than putting them in a blender. Cold-pressed juices are known to have a much shorter shelf life than bottled smoothies and often cost double the price.

The cold-pressed juice business has quickly turned into a business worth at least $200 million in the US, according to John Craven, CEO of BevNet, which publishes a monthly magazine on the beverage industry. Big players like Hain Celestial and Starbucks recently acquired a majority stake in cold-pressed juice brands Blueprint and Evolution Fresh, respectively.

James said 16-ounce bottles of juice at her store will cost between $6 and $10 each.

Role: David Beckham is set to give NBA star LeBron James a role at his new MLS franchise in Miami

David Beckham is set to sign basketball superstar LeBron James to his Miami MLS franchise.

The Mail on Sunday has learnt that informal discussions have already taken place between the pair and sources close to Beckham say further meetings are expected next year before the deal is announced.

Beckham and his representatives are focused on securing the main investor groups needed to launch their franchise but it would be a massive coup to bring in one of the wealthiest and highest profile men in sport.

James acquired a minority stake in Liverpool in 2011 as part of a deal with club owners Fenway Sports Group to help develop the club’s brand. He would bring the same expertise to the Miami franchise.

The two sporting icons hit it off earlier this year after Beckham watched James star for Miami Heat and the basketball legend has invited the Beckhams to dinner to help them settle into the area.

Beckham, 38, has become a regular at the American Airlines Arena and he watched another game last week after travelling to the city to check out possible stadium sites and to finalise negotiations with investors. He visited the campus of Florida International University and Marlins Park, the home of Miami Marlins.

The former LA Galaxy midfielder was offered the chance to buy an MLS franchise at a discount when he arrived in the US in 2007. He has to complete the deal within a year of retiring from MLS action.

Barkley says James should return to Cavs, rips Heat fans

So what does Charles Barkley think about LeBron's upcoming free agent decision? The TNT analyst thinks he should return to Cleveland, because he thinks Heat fans stink.
Barkley was asked about LeBron's future during an interview with Rachel Nichols that aired Friday on CNN, including why James ever would leave a championship-winning situation.

Barkley: "It's interesting. People always ask me about the championship ring. And I never think like they think. You know, basketball's what I do, it's not who I am. I thought LeBron shoulda stayed in Cleveland. Just 'cause he got them rings now, he ain't no better. Think about the notion that, just because I didn't win a sportin' event, my life is not successful. That's gotta be the stupidest thing I ever heard."

Nichols: "At the end of the year, he has the option to opt out in Miami. You want him back in Cleveland?"

Barkley: "I think it'd be great for him to go back to Cleveland. Number one, I don't think they are great fans in Miami. I thought they were great fans in Cleveland."

Nichols: "People in Miami already don't like you; you're gonna dig a deeper hole with this interview."

Barkley: "I'm not digging a deeper -- they're not the -- listen, those were the same fans who were leaving when they thought they had lost to the Spurs. So let's don't act like they're super fans."
A video of the interview can be found here.

Saw this on another board

Ranking Lebron's 30 options.

Bad fit, bad team, bad market

30. Utah Jazz
29. Minnesota Timberwolves
28. Milwaukee Bucks
27. Denver Nuggets

LeBron won't be playing for any of these teams.

Good fit, bad team, bad market

26. Sacramento Kings
25. Orlando Magic

Not too difficult to make the move to Orlando. They have a lot of assets to get a little more veteran talent, but it's basically impossible.

Scorched Earth Teams

These teams would have to give up far too much in a sign & trade to ever make it worthwhile for LeBron to even consider going there.

24. Portland Trailblazers
23. Indiana Pacers
22. OKC Thunder
21. Brooklyn Nets
20. Memphis Grizzlies

Can't Beat 'Em, Join 'Em

19. Dallas Mavericks
18. San Antonio Spurs

If he really is a ring-chaser, he'll join the Mavericks or the Spurs.

The Iconic Teams

17. New York Knicks
16. Los Angeles Lakers
15. Boston Celtics

There is a big gap between LAL and BOS. Somehow finding his way to New York to play with Carmelo and...Iman Shumpert? JR Smith? Raymond Felton? Can't really do a big three thing there - moving on. A move like that would defeat the purpose of moving to win a championship. A barren roster + Kobe seems like a disaster waiting to happen. LeBron is also interested in his legacy, so I can't see him teaming up with Kobe.

Boston would be interesting if Rondo and the rest of the city didn't despise him.

Too Young

14. Philadelphia 76ers

The team could move a lot of their young talent for veterans, but they don't have an established system or a star. He'll need one of two (preferably both).

Interesting to think about, but too complicated to ever happen

13. Washington Wizards

Wouldn't that be something? I have no idea how that would happen, hence the ranking.

Great fit, but not enough assets

12. Golden State Warriors
11. Houston Rockets

Teams you probably haven't considered

10. Charlotte
9. Atlanta
8. Phoenix
7. Detroit
6. Toronto
5. New Orleans

Charlotte: Need at SF, established system and star player in Al Jefferson. Jordan as owner would probably overshadow the whole season as the media debates whether or not this has ruined LeBron's legacy. Great fit, though.

Atlanta: Former Spurs coach, great teammates in Paul Millsap and Al Horford, and solid market. Most people (Skip Bayless excluded) would also agree LeBron is better than Dominique, so no need to panic there.

Phoenix: Established system with a young coach; as LeBron gets older, he may not want to play THAT up tempo

Detroit: Would have ranked them higher, but I couldn't get the image of Brandon Jennings and Josh Smith out of my head. Stan Van Gundy is a huge selling point and Andre Drummond doesn't hurt either.

Toronto: Established system, two all-star teammates, solid market, young team with cap flexibility and picks. The system may also suit LeBron a bit better than Phoenix because it is slower paced.

New Orleans: This is a long-term move and would require a lot of cap maneuvering (I assume). But Anthony Davis + LeBron James....he can look past the cartoonish mascot if it means Anthony Davis and LeBron James. The management is a bit of a red flag, but Anthony Davis + LeBron James

The Trade We've All Discussed

4. LA Clippers
More specifically, Blake Griffin for LeBron James. The Heat can rebuild around Blake Griffin and LeBron gets to play with his best friend under Doc Rivers. The fact that Deandre Jordan looks like Top 5 centre doesn't hurt. The one thing stopping this from happening: the Donald Sterling fiasco. Unless that gets sorted out by July, we don't even know if the current Clippers want to be there anymore. Why would LeBron join that mess?

Only Ranked This High Because He Was Born There

3. Cleveland Cavaliers
Yes, they have an incredible collection of assets and amazingly cap flexibility. If you are LeBron James, would you not hesitate to join a team that said you had been cursed for leaving? Would you not hesitate to join a team that is so poorly managed that they drafted Anthony Bennett as a "win-now" move? Crazy. Also, the proposed team after a series of trades would consist of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and a supporting cast. That's a good all-star team, not a championship team.

The Other Team That Makes The Most Sense

2. Chicago Bulls
Why would they bother with Carmelo if they could get LeBron? Seriously. Why would LeBron consider any other team when he could, in a best case scenario, be joining a team with a former MVP, the defensive player of the year, and one of the strongest defensive schemes in the league. You add him to the team and 95% of their offensive issues are solved. They also have a highly touted prospect coming over this summer and two mid 1st round picks. Oh, and they are owed a lottery pick from Sacramento.

The Devil You Know

1. Miami Heat
Why wouldn't he go to Chicago? The management situation is toxic at best. Thibs is a lunatic who insists on running his players into the ground so they have the best record in the month of February. He would also invite 10x as much criticism as he did from the Decision by leaving Miami. How can he be better than Jordan if he's playing in his shadow, Skip Bayless ponders aloud.

He'll stay in Miami because he knows the management, knows the owner and he has more leverage there than any other team in the league.

Dude ain't going nowhere, if anything, they take a pay cut and get Melo...

Honestly speaking, the way James plays now, he might be a completely different player in 2 years, in a sense that his game play might take a toll on his body. Durant might just be the better player in two years.
steroids + 40 lbs and durant might...just MIGHT be able to post up a 2 guard. :smh:

Max's Samsung OG-Note 1

I can't see him leaving...it'd prove all the critics right about him not being tough enough to stick w/ a team and deal w/ a little adversity/pressure...I just don't see him abandoning ship like that

To take a big ass pay cut like dat and still not win, might as well stayed in Cleveland

I know what your trying to say, but lets be real...coming to Miami is for from a failure...yea I know they lost two finals...

Cavs
2003-04 $4,018,920
2004-05 $4,320,360
2005-06 $4,621,800
2006-07 $5,828,090(finals)
2007-08 $13,041,250
2008-09 $14,410,581
2009-10 $15,779,912

Heat

2010-2011 $14,500,000(finals)
2011-2012 $12,896,159 - 16,022,500(played all 82 games)(finals)
2012-2013 $17,545,000(finals)
2013-2014 $19,067,500(finals)

hes not leaving miami; do u guy understand that miami is about to have the most cap space of any time next year??? This team will probably be completely different and better; pat reiley will get cats to take less money to be there; james isnt going anywhere....

Miami could use some good draft picks. They'd benefit from developing players that work in their system that are on cheap rookie deals. They lost a lot of picks when they got Bosh & James.

This is a weak year for free agents. Miami might as well keep what they have.

Technically Cleveland with that draft pick have better and younger talent on the team. Especially if they got rid of Waiters.

they dont need draft picks right now; they are in a win now mode, not develop young talent mode; they really dont need those draft picks they lost...

its not week in terms of what miami needs which is pg(lowry, bledsoe, livingston(not sure if hes a starter), and a center( gortat, monroe, and possibly solid players in hawes, blatche,) plus other players like gay, ariza, etc..and if they got melo(although not sure he fits) well thats icing on the cake...free agent class this year is perfect for what miami needs if they can get the players...

What does cleveland have over miami?? Irving lol, who cant even stay on the court; a wasted #1 pick last year, and who knows how the #1 pick this year will turn out..lbj isnt going no where near cleveland...

Fuck da fans fuck da owners they'll trade ya overnight wit out a warning, go where ya want that suits you,I would stay the fuk in south beach and live da good life outside of basketball

True with like three addition and a draft pick would have them back in the finals possibly...

Pg - ????(would be shocked if Rio is back)
Sg - Wade
Sf - James
Pf - Bosh
C - ????

Beasley
Anderson
Cole
Haslem
Lewis
Oden

Draft pg Shabazz Napier(young energetic pg)

Free agents I think would be great fits... Would contact in number order

Pgs
1. Greivis Vasquez
2. Ramon Sessions

Sg
1.Jodie Meeks(if Ray retire)
2.
3.

Sf(this position will give some flexibility to other lineups)
1. Trevor Ariza

Pf
Kris Humphries(toughness inside, greater rebounder)
Ivan Johnson(wanted him 2 years ago)(same as Kris)

C
1. Marcin Gortat
2. Jermaine O'Neal
3. Spencer Hawes

I think these signings would address a few issues and have them back in the finals for a fifth straight year. Offensive scheme tweaked slightly should happen no matter what.

Pg.Vasquez(can run offense, excellent shooter)
Sg.Wade
Sf.James
Pf.Bosh
C.Gortat(post presence that's takes load off Bosh)

LeBron James has options if he opts out of contract
By Fred Kerber

LeBron James in upcoming weeks will be the linchpin for all free-agency speculation not directly related to matters of national security. Teams will push half their rosters off cliffs to get him. He can opt out of the last two years of his deal, worth $20.5 million and $22.1 million. He’ll have options, some unrealistic, others undesirable.
There is a scenario, although improbable, that when July 1 hits, only backup point Norris Cole will be under contract in Miami. James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh all can opt out. Short-term deals will expire, players will retire.
While the Big Three can opt out, they could opt in for another shot in Miami with Pat Riley. If so, and with player options, the Heat could have James, Wade, Bosh, Cole, Udonis Haslem, Chris Anderson and the 26th pick in the upcoming draft.
With around $73 million in salary, flexibility would be limited. The Heat would have a tax-payer mid-level exception and a roster that might be good enough in the East. But a championship requires more.
One opposing executive suggested the Big Three could opt out, take pay cuts and let Miami rebuild. The Heat were exposed in every way by the Spurs, who romped to a 104-87 Game 5 NBA Finals title clincher Sunday.
“The big question is would all three opt out and take [$13 million per] to allow the Heat to build their roster back up?” the executive said. “Miami then would have flexibility for another $13-$14 million player. But as we saw in the Finals, it’s not about your payroll, but team chemistry.”
Of which the Heat had little and are streaking toward having less. The Heat need, well, lots.
In the past four years, the Heat have played more than five seasons with 87 postseason games (59-28 record), and have gone to four straight Finals (2-2). Wade looked spent and with the lift of the Statue of Liberty. For all the talk of the Spurs’ antiquity, the Heat looked older. So James will examine all options. He declined any hint.
“I will deal with my summer when I get to that point. Me and my team will sit down and deal with it. I love Miami. My family loves it,” James said Sunday night. “You guys [media] are trying to find answers. … I’m just not going to give it to you. When I get to that point, I’ll deal with it.”
So start speculating.
The Lakers? Doubtful. With Kobe Bryant under contract, the Lakers have $21.3 million to add players. If you think the Heat have holes, welcome to the LA Swiss cheese factory. LeBron joining Kobe means they would be surrounded by minimums, plus room and mini mid-level exceptions. As one Eastern executive said, “If it was the Kobe of 2000, it would be a different story.”
LA’s other team, the Clippers, already rich in star power, lacks cap space.
Chicago would need a lot of maneuvering for cap space. Unloading Carlos Boozer, Mike Dunleavy and Taj Gibson would do it. But even with Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, too much might be lost.
Cleveland makes sense on one hand. If the Cavs don’t re-sign Luol Deng, they would have enough cap space for a max player. James could make a triumphant return, finding a Cavs nucleus far more appealing than what he worked with the first time. In place are Kyrie Irving and the No. 1 pick in a draft everyone has salivated about forever. James would remain in the East, whose road to the Finals has fewer land mines than the West. But there was that nasty first-time breakup.
Out West, Houston and Phoenix have space. But Bryant couldn’t make it work with Dwight Howard in LA and James might not be too keen on joining a lottery team such as Phoenix.

(I always thought 2016 would be huge...Durant could become free that year)
LeBron could stay with Miami, play another season, maybe two, and weigh his options again. That could bring the Knicks and Nets into play. The Nets, especially in 2015-16, would have salary room and pieces in place (Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Brook Lopez, Mason Plumlee).
The Knicks, even with Carmelo Anthony, would have a lot of money. No roster to speak of, but lots of money.

^^^dan gilbert fucked that up royally

Miami isnt in bad shape at all; they just went to the finals so its not like the sky is falling; I think some of these dudes, not u, but others act like Miami is done; Whose gonna stop them from getting back to the finals?? Indiana is a mess, and about to lose lance and trade hibbert, NY and Brooklyn are laughable, Washington is improving but cant beat heat and what if they lose Gortat, Bulls cant score and not beating Heat, so whose beating them in the East??

If im Miami, i look into Melo only if he commits to playing defense and sharing the ball(2 things im not sure he can do); If they and/or him passes then I go hard after Ariza and Gortat; So starters are Wade, Ariza, Bosh, LBJ, Gortat; Move Wade into the Ron Harper role; Remember how everyone thought Harper was done, but bulls picked him up and put him into the role of "pg" and let him play defense on other pgs and pick his spots on offense; Have Wade share responsibilities of pg with LBJ to lighten the load and whomever the pg is on the bench; And have him and Ariza and LBJ guard the perimeter players, switching when needed...

And do these simple things; Make Bosh the #1 option for most of the game on offense; Get Bosh more inside with occasional outside work; Gortat can shoot midrange jumpers as well; Ariza can hit 3s(really good from corners); Wade can pick his spots but his more of 3rd option and therefore allowed to rest more; LBJ can take over games when needed and also take control of offense when needed; Hes that talented so making him the primary option isnt really that important..

Tell SPO to actually design better offensive schemes for Bosh and use his dam bench!!!

Allen
Beasley
Oden
Cole
Lewis
Anderson
and add 2 high energy younger players

Team would be solid and ready to win another championship

LeBron's Kids Will Attend School Back In Ohio

According to multiple reports, LeBron’s two kids, Bryce Maximus and LeBron Jr., will be attending local public schooling next year in Bath Township, Ohio, where LeBron’s Akron mansion is located.

LeBron already stated that he plans on having his kids attend St. Vincent St. Mary’s, his alma mater, in Akron for high school.

With the anticipation in Cleveland of LeBron returning with the Cavaliers, this will obviously spark some intrigue and interest more so. Even if LeBron is just doing this so his kids can attend his high school which he is extremely familiar with, many will believe it will be a response to possibly reuniting with the team the drafted him back in 2003.

Personally, it could be a sign of things to come. But the fact of the matter is that he already has a huge home in Akron, and he loves SVSM. He has invested over $2 million in renovations for the high school, and he was obviously very successful there, and they helped put him on the map (in addition to his God-given talents). He would never send his kids to a high school in Miami in an unfamiliar area, but rather send them to his alma mater.

This may not be a sign that LeBron is coming back to Cleveland. But boy does it look like one. If anything it makes July 1st a lot more exciting. With the 2014 draft being 5 days earlier, with the anticipation of the Cavs offering a max contract to Kyrie, as well trying to lure LeBron back to Cleveland, this summer will be very interesting and exciting for the Wine & Gold.

LeBron will tell you he’s sending his kids to Bath because it’s where his home is. But boy is it a convenient time to send Bryce and LeBron Jr. to Akron schools, when he can opt out of his player option and test the market for free agency.

I believe Lebron is staying in Miami. However, I don't see Melo staying in NYC unless the knicks pay him max money. I do hope I'm wrong.:(
