Amazing Spider-Man 2 reviews + mine (Might contain minor spoilers)

one question (i didnt read the OP, didnt want spoilers): is it worth seeing in 3D?

It's not worth going to see period especially not in 3D. Save your money and see Captain America again or something :smh:

I stopped reading when Rock complained about cheesy dialogue. Two of his favorite movies are Battle Los Angeles and Pacific Rim. You can't get much cheesier dialogue than those two.

"It's my birthday, so it's time to blow out my candles" when that nigga said that I was :hmm:

I'm truly convinced that if there's a reason to hate ANYTHING, BGOL will find a way to do just that.

Movie wasn't great but it wasn't unbearable either.

You guys make it seem like your eyes started bleeding as you watched in agony this atrocity of a film

I think when you compare them the movies Marvel has produced..........

Just came from watching and I am highly disappointed as well.

Story line drug out between fight scenes
Only interesting parts was mention of
Smythe (Alister)
Felica (presumed Hardy)
and the serum was derived from the venom

Hell I should've watched Devergence

TBH part 2 of the original trilogy is the best. Part 3 was absolute GARBAGE and part 1 was good but drawn out, due to the need if establishing the back story.

let's not hold the others to this high standard when it we're honest they weren't all that either.

I rank these two better than part 3 of the original trilogy....

Why not hold them to high standard??? Sony is just cranking out movies because if they don't keep making them Marvel will get the rights back

Exactly. This wasn't bias. The movie just wasn't worth it. If I even compared it to Marvel's films in my review it would've been way worse than I said.

Now just because you liked it doesn't mean it's good or bearable. We all have our different opinions. I would actually have found this post more informative if you said what you liked about the movie, instead of just bashing general members of the board, even though most of them are neanderthals.

This, and the fact that they always make their money back plus. Why give it back to Marvel if you can make $500,000 off it with no effort?

My wife had to keep waking me up. Every time she nudged me I would say "I'm watching!" That shit put me to sleep so many times...:hmm:

Get off my fucking nuts, nigga! You don't know what my favorite anything is. How about you get over disagreeing with my OPINIONS or just stay the fuck out my threads all together.

I swear you niggas stay on the dumb, childish shit. Petty fuckers. :smh:

Rock be getting worked up mayne :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Rock it's not that serious bruh.

I saw Spiderman and Captain America today.

Spiderman wasn't very good. Cap was better, but still not great.

Dozed off for 5 mins. which is rare because I'm a comic book buff. Movie is inferior than the first and Garfield is subpar. I thought the first storyline was fairly well written but the lead dicks it off.

Yeah, if Peter is a college graduate in this movie he'd be about 22 years old. They said his parent left when he was 6 years old. So they're saying that his father uploaded a video file on sat-link from an airplane via his laptop in 1998.

He wasn't graduating college, he was graduating high school. So that would make him about 18 at the oldest. If his parents left him at 6, that would put them on the plane in 2002, assuming the movie takes place in 2014. Wifi for home use came out around 1999.(http://dailybarrage.com/2013/10/01/a-brief-history-of-wifi/) So it's plausible that if they worked for the government or in this case a huge multi billion dollar company like Oscorp, they would have access to wifi, even on a plane. The Sony Vaio also emerged around 1996 so that's plausible as well.

The real question here is who the hell does top secret work on a gat damn Vaio? I guess when the parent company that distributes your movie is Sony, you do.

HOWEVER, that is the least of this movies problems...

I have many questions for this shitbag of a movie.

How did Electro get a pretty advanced suit that can dissipate and reconstitute when he turns into pure electricity so quickly after getting rescued by Harry? It even had a cute little lightning bolt on the arm. Was it already made? Was it sitting there in the basement with the other Sinister Six battle suits? If it was then why didn't Harry just get into the goblin suit right then?

Why did Harry's disease progress so quickly? Norman said it begins to manifest at around Harry's age and that it was a genetic "curse" (meaning all of the Osbornes have it from birth) but he was well into his 50's before he succumbed to it. Harry basically went into full goblin mode in a few days (possibly overnight). Did Norman take some drugs or hire private doctors/scientists to help prolong his life and mask the symptoms? If so, then why didn't he give Harry those drugs and resources too?

If Harry knew that the goblin suit had healing tech inside it, why didn't he just get into the suit first before going after the spider venom? And he seemed to be healing up inside his cell at Ravencroft, so did the spider venom work or did the goblin suit work? If he no longer has access to either one now shouldn't he be reverting back to the goblin state, not getting better?

Does a huge company like Oscorp shut down completely for the day at 5 o'clock? My girl works as a chemist in the second largest automotive paint manufacturer corporation in the US and that shit is open 24/7. Smythe couldn't send a maintenance team in (or couldn't Max just call some support staff with proper equipment) to basically just plug two cables together? I know Max was the guy who designed the whole thing, but he didn't physically build the equipment himself.

Gwen Stacy is super smart yes, I like how she told Peter that he should magnetize his web shooters, but how is a high schooler an expert on the functions of the city's power grid? (Which apparently operates by pushing a big red button) I thought her expertise was in genetics, did she also intern in the city services department?

saw it today, the kids loved it........for me it was entertaining, I don't go into these type movies expecting realism or ward winning acting.

it was plainly a high school graduation.

After reading several reviews on the internet and various message boards,i went into The Amazing Spider-Man 2
with extremely low expectations.I did have some problems with the film, and it's definitely not flawless, but
some were saying it was as bad as 1997's Batman & Robin and i dont agree with that at all.

Andrew Garfield portrays the joys and pains of being Spider-Man with increased enthusiasm in this film.
I thought the back story about his parents (portrayed by Campbell Scott and Embeth Davidtz),his relationship
with his loving Aunt May (Sally Field) and his on and off again romance with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone)
gave the film a solid dramatic foundation.
The villains in the film...well i couldnt wait for them to become villains.I didnt buy into Jamie Foxx as the nerdy,Spidey
superfan, and Oscorp engineer but when he eventually became Electro he soars.I really liked the way he wielded his
powers in the film and how they were interpreted.
The friendship between Parker and Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) felt as forced and stiff as there scenes together.
Maybe if DeHaan had been in the first film i would have been able to invest in their bond.
Dehaan does excel as the "evil' Harry and The sinister Green Goblin.

There are some cheesy and unecessary moments. Some of the fights end far to quickly.I would love to see
Paul Giamatti's paycheck for his 4 minutes in the film as The Rhino.
I have to question the marketing for this film that basically gave away key plot turns,in it's trailers and T.V spots.
Even if your not a fan of the comics you will be able to figure out whats going to happen.

I praise the SFX crew that worked on the film, because the CGI is almost seamless, and the action sequences are terrific.
I think if you go in not expecting the greatest movie on earth, you can have a good time with the film and enjoy all of the things it gets right.

Scale of 1-10 a 7½

yeah, i am as hard on a movie as the next dude.

this movie wasn't THAT bad. dudes acting like they just walked out of X3. now that shit was terrible.

finally a level headed response. the third one of the last set was absolute trash. it was very bad. i haven't even bothered to watch that again since i saw it at the theater.

i prefer garfield over maguire as spidey.

if garfield had better scripts people wouldn't even be mentioning maguire.

there were a lot of sappy love moments, but they were way better than hearing Mary Jane complain all thru the previous version.

cosign. i went in with a set of expectations where i did not leave disappointed. after what i thought was a super average first film this one was entertaining for me.
