i think people have conditioned themselves to say fuck boondocks by default ever since they found out mcgruder wasn't involved:dunno:

Cosign. Yall are nitpicking the fuck outta this show. I swear if it never came out that buddy quit or got fired yall would just eat it up like always. Its on par with the rest of the seasons slow starts. Animations the same. Racy subjects the same. Pop culture references the same. But late cuz it was probably written like 3 years ago. Calm down. All it needs is one redeeming episode and yall will be back eating it up. As for the sterling shyt purely coincidental. :hmm:

Did you watch the episode??
yup, and there's nothing in there, tone-wise that we haven't seen in previous seasons. especially the last one.
Nah... The shit just sucks...

maybe, maybe not.i'd rather watch the whole season before giving judgement. it was an ok episode. i chuckled 2 or 3 times and the message was delivered a bit heavy handily for my taste, but i guarandamntee you if it wasn't revealed that mcgruder wasn't involved until after the season was finished, dudes would not be in a rush to condemn it so early.

They could have switched episodes or pulled this.. You don't drop a racist episode period let alone during this Sterling controversy

man this shit was planned out months in advance...they don't give a fuck about what some nba owner said

that shit ain't even hardly news anymore other than in nba circles and BGOL:smh:

Fam this shit was wack. The other seasons had whit and some type of moral to the story.

Coincidental or not Cartoon Network had the option to switch episodes. You cant drop an episode like that amidst controversy. Add on the factor next week episode is about wave grease. Cmon fam. You don't feel like their making fun of us in these two episodes

yep i don't even know why they are watching at all

The man voluntarily became a slave and defended a reason behind it and nobody is offended???

Did any of yall even laugh during this episode?

I was ready to do this, but thought I'd give it a chance if the lead writer was still black.

Fam, Black's are the butt of 90% of jokes of the cartoon. Gangstalicious? Uncle ruckus? Thugnificent? :hmm:

The feel is different. If you dont sense it thats on you

the 'feel' is different because we knew beforehand mcgruder wasn't involved. the satire wasn't really subtle as it used to be, but the tone/themes haven't really changed.

I found it to be an intersting tongue in cheek critique into the current state of economical affairs in america today.

BUT it is clearly different style wise than aaron

There are no "Easter eggs" just plain & out in the open. Once you get it that's it, no "aha" moment. Even their voice overs sound like they are just reading the script, no colorful ad libbing.

The satire made the series. Without that, the themes are just aren't funny and offensive

Show just doesn't have any attitude or soul too it. Went from In Living Color to SNL.

This show is suffering the same fate as In Living Color and The Chappelle Show. Another clash of reality vs creativity. I seen it coming and it's now evident that the problem had to be with Aaron McGruders voice of reason through Huey that is now absent from these episodes or maybe that's just a result of him not being involved.

Does anybody know what the other writers from the previous season have to say about parting ways with boondocks or are they still there? Because while Aaron is creative he didn't start the comic strip by himself he had another guy with him.

Fixed.

Ain't shit stopping you but yourself.

Are you saying it's a bad thing to refuse to watch the show since we know now that the creator, it not involved and is not helping promote or write the show. Sony has pretty much hi-jecked his creation and is sock-puppeting it for the cash. Why is is a bad thing to not want to support that? Even if it comes out that McGruder never wrote one word of any of the seasons, the fact that he has come out and expressed the fact that he is not behind this season should be enough to validate the move for not supporting the show.

i liked last week's episode but this one was terrible! the only time i barely chuckled was the Vanderbilt character trying to warn them in that dry voice.....other than that it sucked! a friend of mine told me the next episode is supposed to be a parody on Breaking Bad so that'll probably be the last episode i watch.
