The Americans: The 2nd best espionage/spy show on TV

Yep. FX got the shows:yes:

This new one The Bridge I'm anticipating even though I have no idea what's it about:lol:

its remake of a UK show
it'll revolve around a mysterious murder on the US/Mexican border.

at this point if its on FX I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt from Justified to Sons of Anarachy to the Americans to Sunny & Louie they have a phenomnal record

just pissed i am not just now getting up on the Shield (better late than never)

You weren't up on the Shield:eek:

I did come on late with Sunny in Philly.

Hell even The League is funny to me. I'm a big fantasy guy though so I'm a little biased

Nina is definitely gonna die. IMO, she is determined to. She is just set on making things right before she does. Which is why Stan is going to die, or worse. I'm telling you, she is a beautiful, pissed off KGB agent who has an FBI agent by the balls. An I'm not impressed with his hunches. Seems like a typical cop to whom everyone looks like a crook. We will see in a week, but I think his arc is complete, and he sealed his fate when he killed Vlad.

I thought would be cannon fodder as soon as she was introduced but i think there are alot of ways her story can go now that she is a triple agent. She'll get got proably by Stan down the line but not till next season (and god damn she pretty)

but wtf is gonna happen to poor Martha. she's gotta be the most gullible character in tv history and that wedding was hillarious

it took elizabeth getting shot to finally soften up and ask Phillip to come back home.

enjoyed the little tease with the daughter. It would interesting if the kids starting having doubts.

great 1st season and i expect the popularity of the show to grow exponentially with word of mouth between seasons.

God DAMN Nina played the shit outta Stan. Got him feeling like shit and she was the reason everything fell through.

and Elizabeth caught a slug. Wasnt suprised cause once they switched cars it was too good to be true.

and damn Grannie came through in the end. She was clutch spotting the single and getting her revenge.

stan and his old lady watching the spies' kids after shoting their mom.

cant wait for next season, one of the 1st seasons I can remeber seeing in awhile.

something told me that was what happened, when elizabeth started talking in a weird voice..

hopefully the daughter wont pick up on it straight away,i actually wouldnt mind seeing this subplot drag out for a bit

Damn, that was a good ass season ender. Nina put on a good act, Stan is fucked up now. Phillip is fucked up too, got a wife and a wife. the Air Force dude telling them Star Wars was a joke, but they didn't listen. The daughter, being like "hmmm" at the end had me like

The whole last episode I want just a single frame to pop up and have Admiral Ackbar say

Love the show though unlike Game of Thrones we know Elizabeth is not going to die so it takes the edge off of the show.

Grannie claudia whipped that car around and came out with her gun ready for business - too bad Margo Martiningdale wont be on next year because she has been cast on another show - she is a great character actress and has a menacing quality that you rarely see in an older white woman - she was also great on Justified -

nosey little got more than she was looking for

stay outta grown folk business

damn shit got real with that other couple. They even killed the god damn kid and the oldest walked in to find them dead

Damn, this show isn't messing around at all this season. I loved how normal that scene with the other sleeper couple appeared, like how they were catching up on their family lives and what their kids are doing and oh yeah we have a espionage job to pull this weekend.

So sad to see how that turned out for them, especially the son that had to walk in on it. That's definitely the sort of thing that's going to weigh on both Philip and Elizabeth's minds for the rest of the season.

It seems like there was a lot more nudity in this episode than in all of last season. But at least the show satisfied everyone by showing both spy's naked rears.

I'm not entirely sold on why Paige would be so suspicious of her parents after two months of having free reign to explore that damn basement, but it adds an interesting dynamic.

damn stan is damn good police

homie in the warehouse knew what was up. i wonder if elizabeth from last season would've given him a pass

and smh at the kids not falling too far from the tree with the sneaking around and covering for each other. Almost Phillip fooled. Paige lucky Philip caught her and not elizabeth. Elizabeth would've proably smacked the shit outta her. She got some balls to sneak out after that shit she pulled.

Season's off to a great start.

 @ that look Phillip gave Paige when he sat her down. Usually it's Elizabeth playing bad cop. I can't remember him ever going at her like that.

It was cold blooded watching Elizabeth burn that letter even though it had to be done.

just binged on the new season...

people sleeping...very very good start

but I disagree I think they were showing you how INEFFECTIVE his tough guy act is too his own daughter but he is able to control EVERYONE else.

what the hell happened during that last minutes completely came outta nowhere and the bitch bounced on them

here i am thinking Paige's new friend would be bad news and she took her church. all things considered not bad but Elizabeth acting like smoking crack

Acting like the "where did you learn to do this" commercial.

I was not expecting Philip and Elizabeth to take an L like they did at the end of the episode.

I'm so tired of Phillips fake wife. I how that story line goes somewhere soon. I want to see her whiny ass knocked off by Philip or Elizabeth.

didnt see the Israleis as the opposing operatives but it makes sense.

damn the chick they got to replace Grandma Claudia is still wet behind the ears. And damn she trying throw the puss at phil early with that make you happy line. Maybe Elizabeth would be done for menage

poor martha that chick is so gullible. what married man has an apartment. If she has no clue he a spy she gotta know something is up.

lol Martha telling Clark's real fake wife about their sex life

damn Phil took for team

damn Stan getting it from both directions. Nina playing him and the new #2 got him by the balls

FX Renews The Americans

FX has renewed The Americans for a 13-episode third season, the network announced today. The Cold War drama is currently halfway through its second season, and while the live ratings are nothing to brag about, the show does much better once you factor in DVR viewers, too. Even though FX has been promising for several weeks that an official announcement was nigh, it's still a relief to know, officially, that everyone will be back for more espionage. More sexy espionage. And presumably more espionage-y sex, too.

Great news but for the life of me I don't understand why the doesn't get more love/attention.

c/s

especially with is what is going on in modern russia
I think it's hard to get people into a show after the first few episodes. People feel like they're not going to know what's going on and don't they feel like going back to catch up.

you are probably right

but in this day and age of streaming on damn near every network FX's own site, HULU, Amazon, Netflix...

don't get me wrong this is a series that demands attention and understanding the backstory but it isnt THAT dense.

I think it is also a case of there being way too many shows to watch in the limited amount of time people have. Even with the options to catch up on tv, you just don't have enough time to do all of that. Programs are also competing on the same time slots. These days you need to have a DVR capable of recording 4 or 5 programs at once to catch everything the entire household may want to watch at a later time.
