6 Reasons Young Black People Are Leaving The Church

ankheru, I hear you, but I try to stay away from color.

It is key to point out their manipulation, but since there is proof that "christianity" predates christ, I just want them to vet what they beleive, that's all.

When you look into Europe, it's f*cking black madonna's and jesus's everywhere, it's just that Africans in America are behind the times and I just want them to QUESTION why they believe what they believe...just question!

Start there, then let's get them conscious!

:lol::smh:I could not stop laughing but I felt ashamed.

I agree with your first statement, don't blame others for not going.

I did and then I owned my conscious decision to not go because I had always been a voracious reader and the sh!t in the bible kept not adding up, not adding up, not adding up, from a logical and salvation standpoint...that I had to SUBTRACT IT from my life.

I needed to be around like minds!

What is a true christian lifestyle?

I have never gotten a good answer or the same answer from any christian I talked to.

I am asking because there are well over two dozen versions of the bible, so the "word of god" has changed at least this many times.

Then there is the old testament and the new testament, mashed up together as one book with lost books and lost gospels that were chosen to not be included, yet it is still the "complete and true word of god".

Then there are over 40,000 christian denominations! FAM, FORTY THOUSAND, whose interpretation of that "true christian" is correct?

The story of god kicking lucifer out of heaven is an allegory, but makes perfect sense.

Since "they" want you to believe in god without questioning, he "would" kick out Lucifer (translation: the bearer of LIGHT) out of heaven and claim him as the bad guy so it could be made easier for people not to think for themselves for easier control.

In all fairness, I have not been awake my entire life, but when I did I started studying the truth even harder than I studied the lie and I studied the lie HARD!

Read: christianity before christ, since you are truly into living a life like christ...there were many, so choose wisely.;)

That's where I made my mistake, first waking up. I was so disgusted with the lie I was living, that I just denounced god all the way, but we as Africans have always been connected to the spirit world, so before you go athiest, look at consciousness as you recover from christianity.

When you understand the god conept, outside of religion, the taste won't be so nasty in your mouth and one may not be as quick to say they don't believe in god because they begin to understand that everything is god...including you, including me, including all else in the universe.

Man, where are you from?

Ninja this the south and the indoctrination is STRONG!

When I left for college and when I moved to Atlanta, I dated PLENTY of chics who f*ck and s*ck during the week, but was gon' be up in that church house as late teenagers and early adults, lookin' for that word.

I had friends who joined frats, or not, and slutted whores out all week long, but they found some place to show they face and drop bread in the collection plate.

Playa, it's a way of life for some people!:smh:

Amen.....

Respect Big ATL, information over superstition. The "reformer" Martin Luther "decided" the bible said anyone who seeks him can be saved?!? Then he was excommunicated.

Many of my friends are native Americans and they often laugh at how white men try to own everything even spirituality which is in all things

The bible is the word of god? Why was violence, subjugation and menace needed to convert most of the planet?

all I know is that most preacher's daughters are freaks...and like to get high too.

Max's Samsung OG-Note 1

Esther is max-dawg right? You freaky or nah, I mean your presence on a porn board should answer that question right lol..

I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness. I left the organization in my early 20's. I was no longer into being limited in where my life could go as a result of trying to live up to their standards of godliness. I also had seen friends of mine done dirty by the organization due to rules I considered to be ridiculous. I missed out on so much because my mother wanted me raised with those beliefs. If I hadn't left, I wouldn't be living the life that I am now, which is pretty standard, but all mine.

Over ten years later, I now spend a good amount of time on BGOL posting gifs of whores squirting. I'm enjoying myself.

Same here. I can relate 100%. My entire immediate family left the so-called truth when i was a teenager. All of our lives changed for the better as a result. Now I'm proud to be a so called apostate.

Since then i have investigated Islam, pentecostal church, baptist and a few others. All of thesr churches are a bit more reasonable. They don't tend to enforce life ruining consequences for breaking man made laws, but these use similar hustles to get your money and compliance. Faith seems to be a knee jerk response to everything that can't be explained with logic, reason, fact or scripture.

In the end I've come to the conclusion that God speaks to us through or conscience.

Man, respect, and the bolded is what I have questioned my parents, my pastor, and my Sunday School teachers during elementary and they had no logical responses.

This makes a lot of sense.

My fellow single brothers, how do you handle these bible thumping Sisters out here when dating? They claim to love the lord so much and put Jesus first in their lives. Well, so they say....

:hmm::hmm::hmm::hmm:
I don't pay that shit no attention. ..cause I ain't trying to marry their ass anyway

People are reading more and forming their own opinions.

Religion and the belief in god were the first sciences. It's to explain the unknown -- especially death. Holding onto the shit is like holding onto childhood toys. Humans are starting to discard toys from the early(childhood) years.

Of course you can't say for sure that there isn't a god(s), but it's easy to say that all known religions are horseshit. When people read and are honest, it's the only natural conclusion. But if people want to live forever or can't deal with the deaths of loved ones, they put aside logic and adopt the faith of a 'get to live forever' religion.

1. Religion is bullshit
2. Religion is full of shit
3. Church is bullshit
4. Church is full of shit
5. Religion and church is bullshit
6. Religion and church is full of shit

You always hear the same ol shit in these types of threads. Church has nothing to offer it's all bullshit yadda yadda yadda. There is extreme bias against the church or when it comes to topics of faith. But I'll try to add a unique and critical perspective to the discussion.

Young black people don't see the importance of the church in their lives and to be real when I was young neither did I. But in hind sight I'm glad my mother made me go. Being apart of the church was like being apart of community. I can't speak for others but the church I attended always had something going on and tried to make sure that all members of the congregation contributed not just offering on Sundays but were active participants in the church, church service and the community we lived. We did fund raisers, food drives, feed the homeless, sold candy, fellowship with other churches etc The church was a basin of spiritual support and encouragement from other members who all had their own testimony of spiritual struggles.

From some of the comments in here I think people don't know what the purpose of church is. Churches get a lot of fleeting members who loosely attend on probably just by tradition. They know how things operate but never really engage. First and foremost the church is for sinners. The ones who don't have it all figured out and struggle to do better. It's not just for the happy and goody goodies and those who find it easy to do good or deny the bad in themselves. But I see how people can get that idea.

Many see this idea of church as all about do good avoid the bad, goodness and positivity but little to do with the reality of the human condition. They are wrong. It's easy for the do gooders to be upheld as leaders and shiny examples of positivity for the church while those who struggling with doubt or other uncertainties are told to just be good and avoid the bad if you want to be Christian or whatever your domination or faith. People become too concerned with positivity they overlook the reason why the church and faith is there in the first place, to meet you at the rock bottom darkness of your existence. That's what the purpose of the church is for.

This is why you find so many former pimps, prostitutes, murderers and thieves in the pulpit. And for some of them I'm sure old habits die hard. But the purpose is to keep on striving to do better.

It's simple minded to believe there are only good people in the church. It's about self development and the church is your communal support like AA meetings. It's your community to lean on and find inspiration from when your in the dumps. In the dumps, next to death and dying is where many find God.

Jesus rejected the goodness of the pharisees instead choosing life in the shadows outside the city. It's often said if Jesus came back where you think he'd be? In the streets with the dope dealers, murderers and hoes because those are who need salvation the most. Jesus was around a lot of hoes himself. So what does that tell you? Seek God in the reality of your existence go to church for support, testify about what you've learned or overcome. The church is for those with deep doubt, "seek and ye shall find" is what scripture says.

The youth likely reject the church because it feels hypocritical to be living ratchet day after day and turn up in the church on Sunday. A lot of people are of the mind you have to be an A+ AAA citizen before stepping foot in a church. Or else you'd catch a fire and burst into flames as the heathen you are. So people come to the church with a defensive attitude instead of having an open mind and heart.

I see a lot of people usually your senior members probably not well educated who hide themselves in the church, they wear the church like a mask and bludgeon the congregation with "avoidance". Do good, avoid bad, and that's all Christianity and the church becomes to them and that's how they present the church to others. They carry a self-righteous air about themselves because they've probably been a member of the church for years they act like they never ever sinned or told a white lie since birth. I pick up that atmosphere from a lot of churches even the one I use to attend as a kid. That attitude harms the younger generations. It becomes hypocritical finger pointing. Those senior members forget that the youth benefit from their senior experience. Church elders want respect for being wise but all they do is dictate and instruct and to them thats sharing wisdom. Instead they should be sharing their experience.

When you're young, you're out there living and learning facing what sin is, what darkness is, what's inside you, and what's in the world, that rawness. The church has forgotten when your saturating the word of God into the lives of the youth that you're also tuning them into what the world is and how it effects the flesh. The senior members forget to tell them who they were before Christ. Provide a realistic balance, if you don't when they rebel and get a taste of the world they don't find their way back into the church. This is one reason why I respected the time for testimony in my church because people weren't ashamed to testify who they were before compared to who they became now members were like open books. It does the youth a great disservice when you don't give them the full spectrum, they try to hide their own sins and self image in the congregation. That is the way you ill prepare the youth to float naively into the world.

Mello Mello, my church did the exact same thing.

There is nothing a church does for you that a family, extended family, community, community organization, or self can't do, PERIOD!

On top of that, the indoctrination invalidates ALL that was being offered as good because it comes with a price that you don't realize until later on in life OR whenever you decide to wake up.

There is too much nuance to human life to say where and when a person can or should be able to find spiritual support. Everyone doesn't find the support in those institutions. The church is another way for people to find that. Also if those other institutions you mention can do the same as the church then there is nothing wrong with having a church for the same purpose. If it's helping people to become an asset to the community why reject it?

What indoctrination are you referring to?

If it was easy for people to do the right thing they wouldn't need any laws or moral codes. People have to be taught. If everyone could just do for self or pick up the bible read, understand and practice what is written, there would be no need for a church in the fist place.

I denounced Christianity when I turned 19. It made no sense to me whatsoever. These so called church going chicks (dudes) went so hard on the lying, manipulating, sex, judging and so on. Not just a couple, but many.

What solidified it for me is when I started researching on how it was used against us during slavery.

I denounced it at 14.

Continue...
What do u mean by feminine energy?
I just noticed a lot of undercover dudes are into that shit and it don't make sense because the church is supposedly anti gay

It looks like it draws them in.
Maybe they feel guilty?
Hide in plain site?
Idk

I said the church uses feminine energy, that's why there are lots of gay men and straight men have lost interest.

"Mainstream Christianity has feminized men" as the pastor in the video below says

Yeah I stopped for the same reason, but what brought me back was the fact that my life wasn't going anywhere while I was in charge. Got a question why nobody wants to serve the Lord until they get in some trouble or something life threatening happens. People are gonna be people; if you blame everyone in the churches for your decision for not going makes you no better than them. Live your life off the word that's being taught to you nothing else. My Pastors car is older than mine, but him and I are like friends, but I respect him as a man and a prophet. I've been to those churches where it was about money and I left. The phoniness you're not going to get away from whether in church or the streets. Make your own decision about who you want to serve, because whether stet or church we all serve something....

I was raised by a Christian mom, part of the reason I sparked out so much was for this same reason.

I feel the religious generation is usually less educated, and more lazy, tend not to be go getters as well. The ones who stayed away from the church tend to be more well rounded and educated. More hustlers too.

A good reason I got depressed was due to my upbringing. I hated it bit I still love my parents but I feel they're too old school and I suffered from it big time.

The hard going church women usually have nothing.

I think church is mental slavery in a sense.

Lol you got nerve saying "I came back to the lord after my life wasn't going anywhere"

Then coming back with

"Why nobody wanna serve The Lord until they get in trouble?"

Lmao I'm convinced most people don't listen to themselves

I never understood how church pastors keep having scandal after scandal yet folks continue to follow them. Folks will say he is only a man but your church love offering goes to the same man who shits in your face. Black women are the worst with that bible shit. A girl I know who has a bastard child is the biggest bible pumper I know. Tried to tell me she was celibate I laughed in her face.

Well, I will say this, if there is too much nuance to human life to say where or when a person should be able to find spiritual support, if we eliminate just ONE element (the church), it shouldn't be all that bad, now should it?

You have 99% of the world left to find the spirit, because the spirit is EVERYWHERE!

Real talk, F*CK a church, a mosque, a synagouge, a temple, a hall. We give too much power to a man made structure. It is no different than the YMCA, your job, or you home...IT'S A BUILDING! These places are not inherently bad, it is what goes on inside of them from a psychological, mental, and social level is what makes it questionable.

How arrogant, and ignorant, we are as humans to think that mad had sense of spirituality or community, until "structures" were erected to congregate. Straight propagandized bullsh!t!

The indoctrination? The church itself. What is should represent to you as a human being and we will help you, but we may need you to see it our way first OR we may not evangelize to you off the top but you need to come to a church service or become a member before we can help you.

They say salvation is free to all, but that sh!t costs just like anything else.:smh:

And to your last paragraph, indigenous people have been doing wht you say humans aren't capable of for millenia, with no problems, then a power hungry and political pale face group of people show up, on some "new and improved" sh!t, we fell for it, and here we are!

Who you are and what you are is WITHIN, not WITHOUT!

I was raised by a Christian mom, part of the reason I sparked out so much was for this same reason.

No disrespect to your father. But they learned how to control us in different ways when they were not around. Africa and every country in Africa was colonized by whites. Family life, Christianity, education, politics, law, diet, etc. were designed by the 10 percent of whites that are sworn to secrecy and practice some of the truth in secrecy. For a black it is all about being yourself. Being programmed for so many generations what is being yourself? You should check out the different documentaries on Jonestown. Brainwashed people will attack you for you getting control of yourself and stop being control by whoever is suppose to represent your master. The real picture of whites and Christianity is very ugly.

Brainwashed people will attack you for you getting control of yourself and stop being control by whoever is suppose to represent your master. The real picture of whites and Christianity is very ugly.

None taken.
