A CEO committing suicide is not an entirely unusual event, but the case of a Colorado executive Richard M. Talley is particularly startling. Earlier this week, Talley killed himself in his home by firing seven or eight shots to his torso and head with a nail gun.

Talley's company American Title Services was being investigated by state insurance regulators for reasons that have not yet been revealed publicly. Talley was married for 25 years and was the father of two children. He also said he was a member of the U.S.A. swimming team at the 1980 Olympics, though that claim is currently in dispute. He was 56 at the time of his death.

He was found on Tuesday in his garage by a family member, who then notified police.

My question is how can you self inflict hits EIGHT times in both the head and torso? Doesn't seem possible to do all of that all by yourself...

Good question. The first time should be painful enough. And
given that one bullet could do the job, why would anyone
use 8 nails unless he wanted to torture the man?

The industrial butane ones can shoot up to 9 nails per second.

You are missing the point. He was shot in both head and torso with a nail gun. I can't picture anyone committing suicide this way. Its like torturing yourself before to death. If all the shots were in his head I would have a better chance of believing it was suicide.

exactly... this man was not just killed, he was tortured. Someone
shot him in the torso, and while he was writing in pain, shot him
in the head again to finish him off.

you mustve never used a nail gun.

he couldve easily shot himself in the head and as the gun dropped it kept firing hitting him in the chest and torso.

oh youre mcguyver, you prolly use a piece of chewing gum to nail stuff.

Sounds like both of you are watching too much TV. In my experience I've only come across and used nail guns that require pressure to be applied to actually fire the nail (I'm not speaking of the butane type the other poster above mentioned). What type of nail gun just fires like an automatic weapon, even when dropped? It is for this reason that I'm also puzzled at how someone mistakenly shoots themselves in the face or head with a nail gun.

:hmm:

I have 4 nail guns actually 5. 3 air, one electric, and one gun powder. They all have the safety which requires pressure on the front of the gun in order to fire. This can be bypassed by applying pressure to the front of the gun. This is why buk's comment is way off. All you did was cosigned what I said. Someone else fired the nail gun.

USA didn't compete in the '80 Olympics so this dude was already on some fuck shit.

i NEVER get on bgol and talk what i dont know.

:smh:

How triggers differ

All nailers rely on two basic controls: a finger trigger and a contact safety tip located on the nose of the gun. Trigger mechanisms can vary based on: 1) the order in which the controls are activated, and 2) whether the trigger can be held in the squeezed position to discharge multiple nails OR if it must be released and then squeezed again for each individual nail.

educate yourselves before you make yourselves look like jack asses.

sometimes people fuck around with their nailer because the trigger pressure was too high for them to work for long hours and you end up getting an automatic weapon.

i know cause ive had a lot of work done on my house.
