49ers

The line has always been good at run blocking and not so much pass blocking.

The line is fine the difference is Roman running predictable plays. When teams know its coming its impossible to really block.

See in seattle predictable.. no running and didn't stick with running.

in sf not predictable stuck with the running had a good game. simple as that.

wr is going to be our 1st pick and its going to be a can't miss pick after the a.j. jenkins thing i believe we'll get benjamin from fsu or mike evans and then we're going after a for SURE speed burner.

then it depends on free agency.. if we keep whitner we're not drafting a safety high..
if we don't then we will.

time will tell

the difference between us being defending champs and going to back to back super bowls is greg roman.

Man, looking back at the NFC CG, the Seahawks were there to be had, and we blew it. With all the noise, 12th man, great defense, Beast Mode, all of it. I think Kap wanted Crab to make the game-winning play on Sherm, and it backfired. He had avoided him all game... not sure why he gave Sherm a chance to make a play... especially in that situation. :smh:

I guess that kinda thing comes with experience... but I would have loved to see Kap stay outta Crab and Sherm's drama, and go to Anquan or Vernon in that situation. Of course hindsight is 20/20, and if Crab made the catch the narrative would be totally different, but looking back it just seems like an awful decision that cost us a chance to play in the SB. That road back to the SB is a long, winding one, and it's hard not to wonder if we missed our chance these past 3 years.

Gonna be a long off-season.

Uh Oh, here we go
You just opened up pandoras box again, SickMyDuck

it was an awful play call. that was the design of the play and the right read on that play.

boldin wasn't open. vd was not open. the reads go from right side to far left.

the only person open was the 5th read on a play where the defender got in there immediately.

didn't even have time to really throw it to crab. he holds it 1 instant longer and it's a sack and probably fumble.

it was just a bad throw, a bad throw that's consistent with all of his int's every one of them have been under thrown.

that play throw it out there either its out of bounds or a crab touchdown.

looking at the play there is no other play. or decision

Our WR's have great hands but they lack separation speed, and as the result Kaep has become very good at throwing it to the covered guy and hope that they can get to the ball first.. Most of the time it works, but the margin for error is very minimal causing it to backfire from time to time..
What makes matter worse, between our sub par offensive line pass and lack of speed, we are almost forced to throw the ball short, allowing the opposition defense to play both the run and our pass with the same personnel while in the same defense..
The bottom line, is that speed will not only open up the passing game, but it should give us more lanes to run, open up the screen pass, and make defenses think twice about crashing hard at the corners or cheating in the box with both safeties..

Another thing that we need to work on (and I know we have gotten a little better at it) is our special teams..
To me special teams are the pulse of the club, in that last game, after the V.D. fumble that we recovered that wasn't called or challenged, our punter shanked the kick giving the Hawks perfect field position, and momentum that jump started their offense..
Then right after that we kick a fg only to have them almost take it back all the was after a short kick off that allowed them to run it back... I am sick and tired of every single season having to worry about muffs, returns and shank kicks.. This bullshit has to stop and its time we start making positive gains on special teams!!!.

 Not trying to do that... just frustrated with getting so close and mistakes cost us everytime.

I hear you bills... and you're right, some of my frustration needs to be directed towards Greg Roman, but Kap said after the game that when he saw Crab one on one, he immediately knew he was going there because he will take that match up vs. any corner (and I wish he would stop telling the world that, but that's another discussion). And I wouldn't have had such a problem with it if he didn't try a fade against the team notorious for the tip drill.

I haven't seen the play since the highlights after the game, but as I remember it, the rush was coming from Kap's right, and I think he coulda got past that and picked up 5-6 yards, if not more. Plus, Patton was WIDE open on the left side. I know that would have been the last option/check down, but I would have liked to have seen us chip away right there with about 25 seconds left and 2 timeouts from the 20 yard line.

You make good points fam, it just kills me to get so close. My boys who are fans of other teams tell me to stfu because they didn't make the playoffs, and I get that, but damn... we should be going for back-to-back titles on Sunday. :smh:

nah the rush was from the right. the rusher made a b line to kap.

he didn't escape he barely got the ball off in time before he threw it to crab.

patton was wide open after the snap but was his 5th read on the play. that was after he scanned the entire field.

so even if he said im not throwing it to crab and he went through progressions he wouldn't have had time to go through more than 1 on the 2nd he's sacked that's how bad davis got beat.

roman is the reason we don't have a ring period.

any o.c. worth anything can get you a td 2nd and goal from the 5 yard line

there's just no way to mask it.

if we need a field goal. roman can get us into range.

if we need a td to win he doesn't know what to call.

those are facts, not up for debate.

Do we need a bully/ trash talker/swagger type player on this team? After losing to Dallas twice in the early 90s we bought Deon in among other FAs who pushed us over the top.

Maybe I'm tripping but we need that special lil extra push, we're too nice.

Fuck yea we do, Whitner does some light talking & so does Aldon, but for the most part we ain't got no Sherman style shit talker who'll also go out there & make the big play & hit you in the mouth..

We're not too nice lol

do you see the attitude kap has boldin has crab has whitner has bowman has willis has aldon has justin has?

we have just as much attitude as anyone out there we're not nice at all.

they all talk trash and all play with supreme attitude even brooks. so NO we don't need to bring in anyone like that that's currently in the nfl. we have them on our roster we can draft a rookie with attitude sure.

i mean even look at patton with his little ass out there not taking no shit from bigger players

attitude isn't the problem.

special teams and coordinators not unleashing is.

our coordinator has any sense we have a ring right now and probably would be back to back. that is the problem.

let's not get into this 2nd guessing stuff
we're fine how we are have lattimore tank culliver and dial coming in hungry next year so even more depth with corey having a year we lost moody.
we have so much more coming that we didn't have this year and look at how close we are.

this is from richard sherman himself

* He hates to admit it, but says “the NFC Championship was the Super Bowl. The 49ers were the second-best team in the NFL.”

and look how short handed we were?

if Richard Sherman of our biggest rivals can say this

hold off on pushing the panic button.

nah man it's over and done with. respectfully i ask that you remove it from this thread just because we need to stay positive focus on us and take destiny into our own hands rather than sit back and point the finger no matter how compelling things are.

it won't change anything just make the fans in here sulk even more.

I got you fam. There were some interesting points, but what's done is done.

What's your thoughts on draft needs? I'm thinking CB, SAF, WR...

oh the video is legit though don't get me wrong.

it just does nothing. have to move past overcome and go out and take it.
that's what they need to do.

Draft going big fast wr
going db
going center
and more line depth either side. we're good with everything else

we have culliver lattimore tank dial coming back fresh

gore restructure yup
boldin resign yup
whitner depends on the asking price, we have 12 draft picks reid is a pro bowl safety we can build off of him now at this point and have him teach the rookie like whitner taught him.
brown might come back
rogers is cut
manningham is gone
baldwin is probably gone
goodwin is gone
resign kap
have an extra year with aldon we can exercise since he was a 1st round pick.
resign crab
resin iupati

draft the big speedy wr
still have to actually use the people we do have that means we have to use macdonald for more than blocking when he goes out consistently he gets it going we never did it
have to use hunter more and we have to use lattimore gore should not have to carry it 25 times. we should just hit you with waves
let gore run let lattimore run some more let hunter hit the edge.

wr kap and patton are working out as i type. and patton has shown he has "it"

that will actually be 4 people that kap has REAL chemistry with. bolind.crab.vd.patton. then have to work the speedster rookie in there.

defense we have so much depth coming back even if bo isnt ready for the beginning of the season whihote can fill in

don't forget we have tank
dial
okoye
culliver
and corey lemonier will get his runs hopefully..

funny thing is injuries fucked us all year and we still had a legit shot.

we don't even have to go out in free agency
we can reload from within with people just being healthy.

also resign dawson to a 3 year deal so he can get him at least 2 super bowl rings.

this is the state of the 49ers

also

kap cannot work with coaches until april.
so don't complain about him getting in his playbook.
he will as soon as he is able to by league rules

notice
majority of all the other qb's are taking time off and aren't working

just note it.

We need a Mike Evans @ Wr, I hope this draft pick hoard pans out, we coulda had fucking Josh Gordon  .. I'm not happy with the runningback situation.. Love frank but he's getting to that point & he's slow.. Hunter isn't a starter & Lmj is what Reggie bush was earlier in his career.. That leaves us with Lattimore and I'm not sure what he is at this point.. We can't afford MJD but it's nice to dream..

we're getting one of the wr's this year they aren't reaches.

so evans
watkins
benjamin
one of them will be ours.

stop with the josh gordon. we tried. we don't know what they wanted or if they were ever really serious about trading him considering how talented he was.. they traded the bum to the colts and got a 1st round pick. gordon is actually a building block. that'd be like us having aldon on the trading block.

and finally lattimore will be good for it
hunter didn't get enough opportunities.
and gore will be great in a limited role.

he was never a game breaker as far as speed goes but his blocking he can catch and his vision is still unparalleled.

he just cannot carry it 20 times a game and he is not supposed to. give him 15
give lattimore 20
give hunter 8

every single game.

we should be running about 70 plays a game on offense.

Alotta ya ideas are good, but they often are holding on by a thread... That runningback break down you suggest only works if YOU Largebills are the OC next year.. Otherwise what we end up with is.. Gore rushing 17 times a game for maybe 60 yards.. James & the rest never really in the mix... You can't tell me you wouldn't rather just have a beastmode @ tail back.. I'd trade our entire backfield Bruce miller included for marshawn.. Him & Tukuafu would go for 100+ every week.. That running back committee shit is for teams who ain't really all that committed to running it anyway but they have to, to keep defenses honest.. You think anyone is gonna be ina committee with Eddie Lacy??? He'll have relief but HE'S THE GUY... We have a guy, but he's slow.. We need a new guy... All our championship teams had a clear cut GOTO GUY.. Fucka group

the problem with what you're saying is, we do have our beast
his name is marcus lattimore.

he will be getting the carries and gore will be getting the 2nd and spell carries.

just watch.

like i said just watch what lattimore does with that line we have. he has the power the vision and the speed to break it all the way. so don't worry

At his best he's Arian Foster, so we'll see.. I personally think you're wrong , but I hope you aren't.. The irony is , Gore blew both acl's back to back like Lattimore when he was at U, so maybe that's a good omen for us..

that's the point.

you said at his best he's arian foster as if arian foster isn't a top running back in this league lol.

he's humble
he's hungry and determined
and he's had 2 years to rehab completely he was ready to go towards the end of this season but got it off. now he has another off season to train what you think he gone be running like when he get to camp? ANGRY

and he fits our system perfect, 1 cut and go.

im not overly optimistic about players or the talent they possess unless its warranted.

there's a difference between trying to find a bright side (aj jenkins) and declaring someone is the truth (reid)

lattimore is the truth.

again think of the depth...

culliver is a 6ft1 corner that runs a 4.4. and we didn't touch the field last year..

him and brock together?
with the attitude that they play with?
:itsawrap:

yall was talking bout attitude
like i said look at reid's mic'd up and all the shit he be talking
bowman
willis
aldon
brooks
justin
man the entire defense is about it.

rogers just was trash.

Tj Ward to Replace Whitner?? Cully is good but coming off that Acl I'm not so sure.. Id prefer if we could jus work it out with T boogie... Imagine if Trent showed some cojones and went after Verner  :itsawrap:

Out of the available Free Agent sea hawks which one do y'all believe will be a Niner next year? I'd like Michael Robinson back

It could happen y'all... Trent knows we need a home run hitter & Chris wants to play for a contender...

CJ2kDance_original_original.gif

  • Verner would be a good look but it wouldn't make sense unless we got him for cheap. If we're going to pay someone might as well be Brown and Whitner which is what it would probably take for him to sign as a free agent.. what we would spend on 2 players
  • We ain't getting no Seahawks especially not any to contribute to the team, the roster is set as far as that goes. Trust, if there are it'll be a practice squad person but even that's a stretch. The only person that stuck either way was Ricardo Lockette and that's because Rice got hurt otherwise he would've been cut too.
  • Johnson sound nice but he's got too much money on his contract. We have elite level people we need to sign including a franchise qb and a franchise olb and we can't spare the cap space and kepe the depth. It would have to be a restructure and we'd have to give up draft picks. Which I don't like because you can get great years out of these guys for cheap. this is what us and seattle are doing. Drafting impact players and letting them shine on rookie contracts.
  • I think we knock it out of the park but we'll know going in what we are going to get when free agency happens. But we for sure are getting a wr. Lattimore has been wowing people already.. he's ready to go killa.

If he's able to to accept a paycut sure.

you don't have to be sold on them
he got hit once and came back better
got hit again why is he going to fold this time?

you'll see.

and if we get c.j. that means gore and hunter are gone.

gore deserves to retire a 49er

they don't know shit curt.

our secondary was top notch missing people

our dline was top notch missing people

we're going to draft safety and wr that can take the top off the defense. and then everything else. we have 12 picks and we won't have 12 spots on the roster that need to be filled.

My draft guesses
I think we take a center high with goodwin's best days behind him. i also think shayne skov will end up with us in camp. even if carlos takes a cut, I think we still need for a corner to guard those shrimp receivers. the two top rated cbs are in the bigger seahawk type cb range. we already have enough of those types. man if we did a monster julio-like trade to move up to get watkins or benjamin....maaaann

Hell I even forgot about Tank Carradine !!!
LOL @ the "expert analysts" saying we need D-line help
We are grooming Tank to take over for RayMac or Justin Smith

From MattBarrows twitter (49ers beatwriter)...
Tank had "procedure" after the season to remove scar tissue mass
Harbaugh said Tank Carradine had surgery to remove a "mass" from his knee after the season. Says he looks like a different guy now.
He said it was scar tissue mass and that before the procedure he could not completely straighten his leg and the now he can.

Trent Baalke said that Tank Carradine is up to 290 lbs. Team's DEs range from 290 to 300 lbs

:D:D:D

Edit: Oops almost forgot about that other draft pick we had.... Quinton Dial !!!

It usually takes a while for a center to learn the protection assignments & have chemistry with the others.
Nah I think we have been grooming KilGore to take over for Goodwin
Just like largebills said WR & Safety will probably be our biggest needs
To be honest, I havent been paying attention recently to news on our free agent guys
The way I see it....

1. We need 1 maybe even 2 speedy WR's. I think we should draft 2 WR's and just see which one is the best. Our track record for drafting WR's has been HORRIBLE!

2. We need at lest 1 safety. Even if Whitner does stay, we still need quality depth & someone to groom for the future. I dont feel comfortable with Spillman & Craig Dahl.

3. We need at least 1 corner. Carlos will probably be cut & T. Brown will probably walk. Brown is probably still pissed from being shafted on his money (when his manager didnt tell him to go to camp & he lost like 2 million)

4. We need a backup O-lineman. Especially if we cant re-sign Iupati.

5. We need a backup QB. Our options right now are Colt McCoy & McBLT :smh:

6. We might need a backup middle LB. Bowman will not be ready & probably go on PUP to start the season. I think Wilhoite is a free agent & Nick Moody was draft just for special teams
