You may be familiar with the Pandora of porn, but did you know that there's also a Netflix of porn? Probably! Assuming you're the proud owner of a Playstation 4, that is. Because according to online porn rental service SugarDVD, three times as many PS4 users as Xbox One users signed up for the site's console app.

The data was taken from the month of December, and as Buzzfeed points out, while there were 3.4 million PS4s sold in comparison to the 2.4 million Xbox Ones, that still doesn't explain such a huge disparity in the groups' predilections for porn. What's more, SugarDVD's CEO Jax Smith even admitted to Buzzfeed that the Xbox One should be the premier porn-watching vessel:

"Simply put, the Xbox One is a gateway for porn of the future. The PS4 is pretty, but Xbox One allows for more seamless integration and a more interactive experience."

Are Xbox users turned off by the Kinect's notoriously watchful eye? Or is it simply that they're getting their fix using more—er, traditional methods of satisfaction? Questions for the ages, certainly, and ones that we may never have a solid answer to.

SugarDVD, however, did provide Buzzfeed with the month's top porno preferences for each console, so we can at least gain some definite insight into the tastes of those that do choose to indulge. Here are the top 5 in each category, and you can head over to Buzzfeed to check out the full set. And judging from this newfound data, it seems we finally know who won the great console wars. Congratulations, Cream Plosions #2. You've earned it.

Following the Xbox One's showing at E3, Microsoft considered eliminating the optical disc drive from the console entirely.

"Obviously, after the announcement and E3, there was some feedback about what people wanted to change," Microsoft Studios boss Phil Spencer explained to OXM. "There was a real discussion about whether we should have an optical disc drive in Xbox One or if we could get away with a purely disc-less console, but when you start looking at bandwidth and game size, it does create issues."

Spencer elaborated to OXM that Microsoft ultimately decided on adding the Blu-ray drive and giving "the people an easy way to install a lot of content. From some of those original thoughts, you saw a lot of us really focusing on the digital ecosystem you see on other devices - thinking of and building around that."

When the Xbox One was first announced, Microsoft envisioned an all-digital, DRM-tuned console, though Microsoft would shortly after change its DRM policies following blowback from the community. Microsoft Senior Director of Product Management Albert Penello has said that folks weren't ready for an all-digital console. "We may have been right. What we were wrong about was that it's just too soon. People just weren't ready to make that leap right away."

That shit would have worked for me, most of my games are digital. Shit is hella convenient.

Rick, the problem with Beyond Two Souls is that its not a suspense thriller "who done it" type shit. That's what I'm looking for.

Well in that case, there aren't any comparables then.. I thought you meant you were looking for another "QTE Action-Adventure", with a deep story...

If you're looking for another "QTE Crime Drama", sadly, Heavy Rain is one of a kind..

No one's fucking with Quantic Dream in that realm..

That only benefits the developers, and hurts retailers and the consumer..

M$'s gaming division would have went under..

Steam shows that it could have worked, which was essentially what their original plan was modeled off of. The problem comes from ISPs starting to cap access. If you look you can already see post from people complaining that their ISP told them they were using too much bandwidth due to downloading their games.

Or.. People not being able to play their games without an internet connection, which is what the whole DRM fiasco was about.. It would have never worked.

You still have to occasionally check in with Steam, and you'll still need internet access occasionally with downloaded PS4 games. No doubt there's going to be more restrictions with a downloaded game but a lot of dogpiling people did on the XBOne during that time was similar to what people did with Steam when it was new.

damn... EA servers are under attack and I can't play fifa or battlefield online...lol

The same group of "hackers" who last week took credit for bringing down a number of big games and company websites are back at it, today taking responsibility for issues plaguing EA's Origin service on the PC.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>We've directed the Gaben Laser Beam™ @ the EA login servers. Origin <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23offline&amp;src=hash">#offline</a></p>&mdash; DERP (@DerpTrolling) <a href="https://twitter.com/DerpTrolling/statuses/418939956426321920">January 3, 2014</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

While it can't be confirmed whether EA's servers have indeed been attacked, at time of posting Origin's servers are down; it's pinwheeling on startup for me before it can even tell me the servers are down.

In response, EA has tweeted:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>We're working to resolve connectivity/login issues affecting various platforms/games. Thank you for your patience. Updates when available^EX</p>&mdash; EA Support (@AskEASupport) <a href="https://twitter.com/AskEASupport/statuses/418957286543867904">January 3, 2014</a></blockquote>

Sigh.

UPDATE - Looks like Battlefield 4 is down as well.

In his latest video, boogie2988 tackles the issue of digital distribution becoming more and more prevalent in a world where fast, unlimited internet access is still far from being the norm.

"American internet is simply not ready for a digital distribution system." he said. "It simply cannot handle it." Bringing up an example of one PS4 user who managed to hit their data cap by buying and downloading just one game, boogie2988 went on to argue that the current state of data plans in the US both stifle innovation and prevent digital distribution from really taking off.

The problems with EA’s botched Battlefield 4 release are known far and wide. It doesn’t matter what platform you play it on, the game is a buggy and crashing mess that is still unplayable in single-player as of January 2014. Despite claims from EA’s patches to the contrary, people are still losing their campaign save games, and the game is still crashing constantly in multiplayer modes across all platforms.

There may be a good reason for this, as it seems like a DICE Battlefield producer hasn’t played the game since November:

Obviously, there’s a good reason why he hasn’t played it…right? It seems like he’s been on vacation since the game shipped:

bf-producer-tweet2.png

You know, this is a very common practice in the gaming industry. Once a game goes gold and ships, the producers and higher ups take their fat paychecks and go on lengthy paid vacations. But when a game is being run as a service, such as a MMO or mostly-online FPS, maybe companies should force the producers to wait and see how launch goes before ditching the game for a long vacation?

Instead what DICE did here was knowingly release a game that was rushed through QA, while those responsible for not finishing the game correctly started to burn money and ditched the problem for a nice vacation away from email and all the problems they created.

I keep losing my campaign save in BF4 WTF Dice
