This thread was inspired by me actually standing in the kitchen while watching a bunch of females cook. It's not as easy as some may think. Yet you chicks can have fun come together and make art out of food! I know some of ya'll prolly have facebooks and uploaded pics of your thanksgiving day feasts. Show off time!

usually I would be all like "it's not a big deal, just some turkey and junk" but after spending some time seeing what goes into cooking,I can't be mad at anyone 4 not knowing how. Me personally,I'll take sex and a boiled egg.

Since I discovered that I'm allergic to gluten it was hard to make something that I could eat lol So I made a whole turkey for the first time and it came out awesome! Along with gluten free mac and cheese from scratch and for my bf I made stuffing and corn bread with pumpkin pie since I couldn't eat any of that but yeah I was pretty proud of myself.

You should be,that shit is hard to do. I was standing over chicks chopping celery into bits like "naaah that's too time consuming and hard". But I have to ask, what exactly happens when you eat gluten??

We cooked in my home, I will post later! So I am just seeing this post!

Shyne cooked dinner for the entire family. I think we thanked her for how good it came out like a million times. I've never cooked a turkey ever. And don't really plan on doing so. It's so darn INVOLVED. I did cut up veggies though. So i think i should get props for that.

I'm still not sure what gluten is. But  You not being able to eat it. And :D You making your first turkey.

I have no idea what Gluten is but I'm guessing it's one of those bad things that makes food taste awesome. And I decided to stand around in the kitchen and kick it with the females this year and just wow. I couldn't stop thinking "all this for our rusty asses". That's love.. I be putting frozen fish sticks in the oven and lookin at the clock like "WTF"! And nooooo chopping vegetables don't count WTGGT,even though I can't even do that shit! How do you get it in such small bits???? Ok it counts fuckit.

Basically when I eat gluten stuff my stomach looks like I'm 6 months pregnant along with pain so since I came to the conclusion that it has to be gluten and cut it out of my diet my stomach has gone down and the constant never-ending pain daily without eating anything has ceased.

Gluten is basically in everything lol Pasta, bread, cookies, brownies, doughnuts even cereal. You have to avoid Barley (malt, malt flavoring and malt vinegar are usually made from barley), Rye, Triticale (a cross between wheat and rye), and Wheat.

And mostly everything is made from wheat flour. So when I cooked the macaroni I had to use gluten-free pasta and rice flour. Can only eat fruity pebbles and rice chex whichever flavors they have that are gluten free. It sucks. And everything is 10xs more expensive I got this small gluten free loaf of bread thing was $4 and like half the size of a reg loaf and it tasted like nothing smh I can only eat some chocolate candy, nothing breaded unless stated gluten free. No french fries but the oreida ones are gluten free which is awesome cause I love those. I'm glad I found some gluten free betty crocker stuff now I can make my own snacks and not have to worry about it lol And thanks girl I put it down!

Deeeamn!! Well,it's awesome that you could still enjoy your thanksgiving and do your thing in the kitchen. How does the hubby feel about the Gluten free food tho? I'm imagining he eats when you cook.

Well I just came to the conclusion like a week or so ago lol He eats whatever he wants. I had a lot of food and snacks here before I found out so I told him to eat them all other than that he will eat whatever he doesn't have the problem with gluten I do lol

I posted a vegan and a vegan and gluten free holiday cookbook in the cooking forum. It's in the cookbook sticky.

My pictures came out like crap but I made Turkey and dressing, potato salad, mac n cheese, collard greens, pumpkin bread, and sweet potato pies. Then we had cranberry salad and dinner rolls. I was supposed to make candied yams, but I was tired. I don't have anyone to help cook. I also need to get a lighter roaster. Lifting that roaster in and out to check the turkey is like a workout.
