Because as an officer you have NO IDEA who you're pulling over, what they have in the car, or what can trigger a response that you're NOT expecting, the simplest, kindest people can pull a .45, or in this case, roll up the window, trapping the officer's arm and taking them along for the ride, ish can escalate in a matter of mere seconds, from what was a calm, rational discussion to an officer NOT going home!

In both cases, there wasn't anything wrong with what the drivers did. But cops hate when people know their rights. So he was concerned about his safety, but then had no problem escalating the situation and sticking his hands in the window before he broke it?

What about your safety? Just a bitch ass cop. He could have said fuck it and gave her the citation. Since he is the professional, he should act like one. We now see how these case examples go when you refuse to roll down the window. If the cop wants to be a bitch about it, he can ruin your day. You're definitely going to get an emotional reaction out of the bitches before you get a rational one.
When the other video was posted many months ago, I looked on cop forums to see how some cops handled the window situation. Some cops said they didn't give a fuck as long as they could hear and see the person and didn't smell drugs or alcohol, other cops admitted to breaking windows and even arresting people(apparently in some states people can be arrested for minor traffic violations). Ordering people out of the vehicle seemed to be another option.
the fucked up part is all this talk about the law and the cop NEVER searched the car or made any moves to do anything like that..
she could have had a body in the trunk, drugs in the glove box and a weapons under the seat and he would have never known the way that traffic stop was going UNTIL she got ridiculous.

true on all of this..but for the red..the cop DIDN'T make an issue of that..when she failed to produce registration he just ran her plates..he never inquired further about any more searches or anything..She could have had a brink of coke in her glove compartment and all she had to do to drive away was roll her window down and sign a fucking citation bill and left..
100% true, my point was NOT looking into the glove compartment, combined with rolling the window down 1/3rd of the way and NOT complying with the officer put him into his mood, he was good before this.

I worked too long, been on too many incidents with many NYC cops when I worked for EMS. I know the BS they do and make up to make it all right on paper. Her charges are bullshit. He incriminated himself by using excessive force to break her window. His decision to arrest her for not winding down the window and not even warning her? Yes she was dumb, mostly cause she was scared I believe. But is that the way you "serve and protect"? Or does that only apply to their own.
He would of treated a senior citizen the same? A white person the same?

With that being said the only protection you get from not rolling down your window is if you got weed in the car and you don't want the officer saying he smells weed or alcohol in the car. This women, ON TAPE, had a full blown conversation with the cop with her window all the way down and never once did he mention any of that.
Basically she did everything ass backwards. If you wanna be cute and say you're afraid you do that when the cop first comes to you...not after a 5 minute convo where your window was down and the officer wasn't being hostile at all.

No bruh, NOT comparing situations, pointing out that ish can and does escalate in a heartbeat, in what appears to be simply yet another traffic stop.
When she first approached the vehicle the driver was cool, she spoke to him and he was still cool, she got the passenger's ID, stepped to the back, and went back up, and things weren't so cool, 15 seconds later she's being dragged across the parking lot.
Sound familiar?!?
Bottom line, there IS no simple yet another traffic stop, they ALL are different, and if the officer wants to make sure that he/she goes home that day, they simply DON'T put themselves in a situation that ends in them getting caught out there, like putting your hand & clipboard inside of a car with the window only halfway down.
Put it this way, would YOU put your hand inside of a car with a halfway rolled up window if someone who didn't like you, and you had just pissed off, were sitting in the car?!?

officer came back and she rolled down the window half way. what is the difference between half way and all the way down other than the officer being a dick?
kept my window half way down. half way is more than enough to put that clipboard through have me sign it and give it back to him.
he would actually be safer if she had it half way down and he put the clipboard through the window. he didn't have to lean or reach in in order to give her that citation to sign.
