Ben Affleck IS New 'Batman' in MAN OF STEEL Sequel

It doesn't matter about his acting. Dude face is not serious fam. I laugh when I see dude onscreen, doesn't matter what the role is.

Shiiiit, him playing a serious role is comedy, I can only imagine that this isn't the Superman sequel, but the Batman and Robin sequel.:lol::lol:

Daredevil fam :lol::lol:

He probly definitely gonna insist on rubber nipples on the bat suit.

I dont think people trashed the casting decision as much as they did the movie itself. And they were right to have suspicion after that Superman Returns debacle. This is different in that we are commenting on casting a proven poor actor who has not only layed numerous eggs, but has already ruined a super hero franchise and at age 43 has NEVER proven to be a box office draw for his acting and has never pulled of a action star role. This is horrible on many levels.

Judging a movie based on the past is stupid.. especially with a new movie with a proven director and producer is on it.. if it was a "dud" and the same people from superman returns were doing it that would make sense.... that's like judging a sports team based off the old coach and old players and not who's coaching now and who's playing now

They had no right to assume the worst with a new franchise.. with new people

Same shit like DJ Morpheus said.. bgol is a repeat.. it's either shitting on the main actor or the movie which the main actor is the movie. or a choice for an actor as the villian or supporting role ...like heath ledger for dark knight.. yes you're in the minority of people who don't like his performance.. you don't count .. he kills it then bgol dick rides like they weren't shitting on him before . then the images come for movie people laugh.. then that first trailer ? man let the dick riding commence rinse and repeat.

THen first trailer drops and everybody on here circle jerkin each other. I wish I could remember all them alternate actors everybody was postin for Iron Man. It's like fuckin clockwork.

chritian bale sucked, hugh jackman is a tall as hell wolverine,( we want chris benoit). every bruce banner has been wrong, the last guy in avengers made it cool. Avengers movie is overrated only on BGOL. Tobey sucked as spiderman( like he had a lispe) Thor was ok, it was just thor... coulda done the same shit in a made for tv movie. Superman aka man of steel was decent.

read somewhere they were thinkin bout usin the guy from supernatural
probably woulda been a better choice
shit that brolin cat mighta been a better choice:smh:

some of the criticisms were valid and some not so much

And nearly all the performances you referenced fucking sucked. Box office numbers dont negate fans expressing themselves about the character portrayal or casting decisions. Wtf!? How about Green Latern, that made over 200million worldwide...Superman Returns... and BGOL panned both from the moment it was cast. Fantastic Four was trashed from jump and that sucked ass...BGOL said Bay would ruin Transformers... and he did. Even your cherrypicked examples of box office successes are filled with failures and flawed logic.

The only thing that works like clockwork is someone coming in with revisionist spin acting as if all criticism is invalid and unwarranted. You're full of shit on this.

No you cant "judge" a movie based on its past but you can comment and opine on casting decisions. And wtf do you mean they had "no right" to assume the worst? They had every fucking right. Are you serious?? Since when is expressing ones opinion on casting, director, storyline issues require one to have a certificate signed by you??

Give examples, you guys claim its done so often yet you are strug-go-ling to provide examples... And i didnt say i didnt like Ledgers portrayal, i said using him as your go to and only example proves my point that BGOL isnt the Borg mentality movie reviewers you claim it is. I also noted that Ledgers performance was overrated by his death. It was.

Knee-jerk reactions like a muthafucka.
Kats are really wylding tha fuck out. Sorry it wasn't who you wanted it to be, but it could've been way worse. I'm just glad it wasn't Ryan Gosling.

I would literally prefer anyone over Ben Affleck. Gosling can without a doubt do a young Bruce Wayne better than Ben Afluke can do Wayne at any stage in his life.

This one could have been way worst. Dude has been flawless in his last few movies. I'll give him the benefit of a doubt and wait and see.

the fact that the narrative is "it could have been worse" as opposed to "hell fucking yea they got it right" should count for something shouldn't it?

How about this one..."wait and see". Yes it could've been worse. I'm not even pissed like many are and I've seen this type of reaction too many times to know better.

Man I remember ALL THAT SHIT. Especially Heath Ledger. "Why they getting that fag to play Joker"? "He's gonna ruin it". Then 3 years later the same niggas making threads talking about greatest character in a movie and shit.

All I can do is laugh. Dudes need to chill. How about let him fail before we call him a failure?

Ben Affleck is a good actor. I use to hate him until he sort of resurrected his career and started directing his own shit and taking better roles. I'm a little shocked he's going this route. He's gained his credibility back and probably will lose it due to knee jerkers.

Nah nigga, don't talk that shit now....

Ronmill,

I'm not in the mood tonight Dawg! I will fight you. I'm MAD AS HELL right now and can't believe this shit....I HATE HATE HATE Ben Affleck. There were so many choices to play Batman and they chose him?

UPDATE: Fuck I just realize this also means not only is he going to be in Batman/Superman, but likely Justice League and atleast one Batman standalone movie.

I want it to do well, but damn man, it's not looking good. Shitty CGI is the least of your problems now.

Don't feel bad man, MOS raped my childhood memory of Superman. But apparently it wasn't enough, they have to victimize my BGOL brethren as well.

I do hope Affleck pulls a Ledger though and surprises the shit out of everyone.

then fuck bale
Yeah Bale said "I'm done", and then the studio said "Fuck you too, one monkey don't stop the show"!

One of the most popular movie series in recent memory, Christopher Nolan's take on Batman is truly one of the more interesting portrayals of the famed DC Comics hero. While popular celebrities such as Adam West, George Clooney and Michael Keaton have tried their luck taking on the infamous role, Nolan chose to go with cinematic star Christian Bale, a handsome and physically intimidating figure capable of portraying Batman as a true hero. After finding monumental success with "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises," fans everywhere are wondering whether or not Bale will once again put on the black suit.

When Warner Bros. recently announced that the sequel to "Man of Steel" will hit theatres in the summer of 2015, Bale supporters began hinting that they'd love to see him back on screen as Batman, even though Christian himself has previously hinted that his superhero days are over. Though no official comments came from Bale, Matt Goldberg of Collider.com feels as though no single actor is worthy of a tremendous payday to play the superhero.

"No one is worth a huge payday to play Batman. Batman sells himself," Goldberg recently said to the Wall Street Journal. "They could put a monkey or Stephen Baldwin in a Batman costume and it would still be one of the highest grossing movies of the year. Batman is bigger than Bale. He wasn't the first Batman and he won't be the last. In fact, he has an easy out. There's no controversy if he doesn't come back. The 'Dark Knight Trilogy' is over, and that opens the door to a new beginning."

Obviously the thought is that Bale would probably need to be handed a lucrative financial offer to resume his role as the popular character, a figure that the UK Press Association thinks could be upwards of $50 million.

"Why would Christian Bale walk away from what is certainly going to be either the first or second highest grossing movie in the history of cinema?" author Vincent Russell asked. "He could probably make 50 million dollars for being in the movie 20 minutes. And it would be worth every penny to the studio."

In addition to the creation of "Man of Steel 2," Warner Bros. is set on putting together a "Justice League" movie with the superhero triumvirate of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman all working together. This type of move would certainly benefit the studio, according to The Guardian, because the creation of a movie complete with popular superheroes as well as the signing of major actors and actresses playing them would not struggle to sell at all.

Though many fans would love to see Christian Bale take on the role of Batman a few more times, the 39-year-old said in July that it may be time for someone else to suit up as the hero of Gotham and that he's excited to see how the future of Batman will be portrayed.

"We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three. That's enough. Let's not get greedy," Bale told Entertainment Weekly. "Chris always said he wanted to make it one film at a time. And we ended up sitting there looking at each other, saying 'we're about to make the third.' We never really knew if we were going to get to be there, but if that was how it was going to be, this was where it should end as well. It's a torch that should be handed from one actor to another. "So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with."

Cats said "kneejerk reactions" then listed a bunch of subpar acting in subpar movies as an example to prove us wrong. Guess there are a few of us in here who enjoyed Daredevil :lol::lol::lol:

I guess Batman just heard the news...

Batman with a Boston accent ? Affleck was good in The Town. He and Henry Cavil are of equal acting talent. DC feels like their characters are iconic and don't want actors being larger than the characters.... I expect a unimpressive Wonder Woman casting now.

I'm really trying not to let this shit effect my weekend. FUCK!

The only way Ben can pull a Heath Ledger is with 5 mins of total screen time and he doesn't say ANYTHING. Oh and we don't see his face!

DC execs are fucking crazy! How could you not test the response to this casting BEFORE going all chips in?

Disney/Marvel should counter the DC/WB signing of Affleck as Batman by offering Bale $100 mil 3 picture deal and signing as Daredevil for their cinematic universe...
