Won passes to Red 2 (opens around July 19th) and checked it out yesterday (July 10th). Fun little action-comedy. Crowd seemed to like it (everyone most mostly 20 - 50 in the crowd) compared to other types of screenings wherein the ages can range from 13 - 70. No T&A. Mary-Louise Parker was kinda lame. Catherine Zeta-Jones can get the fuckage. Bruce Willis still doing the action hero thing. John Malkovich for the comic relief. Good to see Anthony Hopkins in anything. Good action sequences with Lee Byung-Hun. I haven't seen the first Red movie, so I'll need to go back and check that one out from recent years. Watch the trailers & gauge if it's for you.

I'm a fan of the 1st one so I will see this.
Haven't seen any flicks for a bit. Gonna get caught up on some documentaries & porn. Did win passes for Blue Jasmine next Thursday evening ... gonna see if we can parlay it into seeing something else once we're there (per usual).
They say Andrew Dice Clay gives a pretty good performance in the movie.
fruitvale station any good? wanna take my kids/nephews tomorrow
Saw "The Conjuring" Saturday night and it's a really good movie. Requisite scares and "boo moments" but still just a good movie in total.

yeah, this shit was pretty damn good.
Good reviews as always, JB √
Thanks HF Im hoping Blue Jasmine goes into wider release this week
Sure thing, JB. Are you able to check out matinees or advance screenings with your movies? You're always good with the newer films and your take(s) on them. Should be interesting on Thursday with Blue Jasmine. We're gonna grab a bite to eat afterward as there are plenty of restaurants in the area. It's one of the smaller, independent theaters ... so we're either gonna check it out, or see something else once we arrive. Glancing at the listings ... looks like The Way, Way Back ... Before Midnight ... 20 Feet From Stardom, and The Hunt are also playing. Some decent titles. Didn't hear back re: 2 Guns. I'd entered a few contests for that one @ other venues (for this week).
I used to attend a ton of advance screenings, but now they are always on odd nights or times and my schedule is definitely not what it was like a few years ago.If i feel a film is worth it i will travel to a smaller theatre.
Good shit, bro. Locally the screenings all tend to be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 7pm at about 5 - 6 theatres in various cities (all within 20 - 30 mins of each other). Occasionally they'll do 9 or 9:30pm screenings for unique engagements for some of the scarier flicks, etc. My only gripe with some of them is that they give you REALLY short notice, so that sort of fucks with you if you have other work & social commitments. Otherwise it's pretty dope. Been to countless screenings over the years, and shared 'em with friends and fam' too ... and I sure as hell wouldn't be paying $12 - 15 for some of these regular and 3D prices here as they gouge the fuck out of Canadians for real. Give me those $0.00 tickets and I'm good![]()
Have you ever gone to a screening in which the film wasnt finished? Such a funny experience especially with films with tons of SFX. They throw in storyboards or stand in figures. I still get passes in the mail i give them away to co workers and friends.I always tell them to get there 2 hours before it starts, because they usually give out to many passes, plus they have to check your name and email confirmations.
Been sifting thru this thread for a good friday night flick to watch and I decided on 2 so far. What should I watch 1st Oblivion or End of Watch? Can't decide
Man this is a no brainer, end of watch, trust me, 10x better movie, you'll love it.
