Boycott Florida For Trayvon

Pick a target....something the state is known for and direct a boycott at it in the name of whatever
But to boycott the entire state?? How many fucking products would that entail?? I want orange juice and now I can have any cause they use Florida oranges for the shit

boycotting florida will hurt black folks truly but maybe that too will motivate them with the white biznizzes losing $$ to fight to repel the laws, u cant have it all cushy ,sometimes we have 2 make sacrifices and now is one of those times... yes it ll affect some blk biznizzes but it will force them to also get more involved in the political system next time the vote comes up. we all know what happened during the midterms ..when blk folks lost interest in voting thinking its all fine now that o was in office.

Just look at how silly it sounds.

Racist kills black man

Black people organize a boycott that will cause millions of black people to lose their job while facing crippling economic conditioning placing us further behind the curve.

Zimmerman moves to a white state and lives good.

How exactly is that a winning strategy?

There's no need to "wonder".

I keep tryin' to tell y'all about that dude.

Fuck boycotting Florida....why don t we boycott the whole economy.....

for one whole business quarter......we only spend money on grocery food/medicine, gas and shelter....worldwide
......

This is and will always be my form of Non-violent civil disobedience. I am not the type of person who will march in the streets, I give money to causes that I believe in, and I will NOT support entities that are out to destroy me and people that look and think like me. I believe that economic warfare is the most effective way to initiate change in this country.

Florida, and FSU and Central FLorida should have absolutely no Black male athletes for decades.

I would not dare send my young male child to that state, rather take a shot at a smaller HBCU if need be.

I am happy to see black folks finally talking like this but it is sad that we have to wait for an innocent black boy to be murdered in cold blood for black people to wake up.

And your naivete/lack of critical thinking/emotion-based internet advocacy shows why your dumb ass plan will get zero traction.

You can remove SYG. Sure, fine, that doesn't change racial profiling. And if asking you logical questions about your plan to boycott an entire state is 'derailing a thread' that means your shit was never really on track from the jump.

Peace and Blessings.

How is your dumbass plan coming together son?

Congratulations to Stevie Wonder.

A boycott in Florida can be very effective but it would also have to be very gradual.

Black people need not buy any real estate in Florida. Stop going to college universities; stop moving there for jobs (seek employment elsewhere); don't be a patron to any products (buy oranges from California instead); don't spend any money of tourism there.

Black people who are already there? Make plans to move out as smoothly but as swiftly as you can.

It's a lot of shit we can do if it is done has a collective.

The most important thing I can say in this post is once we start breaking motherfuckas pockets, there is no doubt we will command the respect we deserve.

But establishments need to be put out of business. The shit needs to be harsh. Let them know we're not playing. Then people will stop fucking with us.

Thank you YoungHustla,

I'm posting and exposing folks like peter and brownturd because there are other brothers on here that are angry and looking for something to do. P & B's game is to make you feel powerless and helpless with self-defeating statements. The extreme by-product of this is the hope that someone will go out in the streets wanting to reclaim their manhood (which you never lost) by doing something physical.

Not only will that land you in jail, but it will put money into the pockets of those that want you powerless and helpless. You have to think of the prison number as your personal barcode. You are the product. Guess who is the register?

My idea takes money out of their register and puts it back into your own, while building self-pride (aw shit!), and a sense of empowerment.

Now lets stop the petty nonsense and break these fools.

*Bump* for Truth.

Also I came back to post how Black people should boycott the Skittles product that is produced and marketed by Wrigley Jr. Company.

That establishment should have came out and advocated justice for Trayvon Martin but it didn't. They could have provided the best top notch prosecuting attorney at their expense.

It's not their responsibility and that's asking for a high-level handout. Let's instead directly donate to the martian family.

that will never happen florida is a great place

What is pissing me off is even supporting only Black owned businesses which is difficult as there are not too many the state still gets the fucking sales tax

or the blk church & blk entertainers (who are now speaking) could have pooled their resources or used their influence to raise $.

we are truly reacting to what happened...and missed the opportunity to be proactive where we can provide the most help.

mofos can help pastor buy helicopter parts...they sure as hell can help this family.

Report: Jay Z, Kanye West, Rolling Stones join Wonder's Florida boycott

Some of the music industry's biggest acts are joining Stevie Wonder in boycotting Florida over the state's controversial "stand your ground" law.

Artists joining Wonder include Rod Stewart, Madonna, Usher and Justin Timberlake, a source close to the legendary musician told American Urban Radio Network's April Ryan.

Rappers Jay Z, Kanye West, Trey Songz, Young Jeezy and Wale have also signed on to the boycott threat, as have pop acts like R. Kelly, Rihanna and Alicia Keys.

Wonder announced his intended boycott the day after a Florida jury acquitted George Zimmerman of second-degree murder charges stemming from the death of Trayvon Martin.

"I decided today that until the 'stand your ground' law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again," he said. "As a matter of fact, wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world."

"For those that we have lost in the battle for justice, wherever that fits in any part of the world — we can't bring them back," he continued. "[What] we can do is we can let our voices be heard. And we can vote in our various countries throughout the world for change and equality for everybody. That's what I know we can do."

Other musicians have signaled their support for Martin: Bruce Springsteen dedicated a song to "justice for Trayvon Martin" during a concert in Limerick, Ireland, while Jay Z and Beyonce met with Martin's parents during a rally in New York City.

The "stand your ground" self-defense laws in Florida and two dozen other states allow individuals to defend themselves without requiring them to attempt to evade or retreat from a dangerous situation. Although Zimmerman did not specifically employ a "stand your ground" law defense to combat second-degree murder charges in the killing of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, the trial has brought a renewed scrutiny to the statutes.

According to Ryan's report, some of the recording artists have already canceled shows in the Sunshine State.

Instead of a boycott, we should do one better, and establish more black owned businesses.

exactly...so all the racist people have to do is shoot a teen, go on trial, rig the outcome and it will make minorities leave the states that they live in and boycott the territory. that is a win for the racist pockets of the population. they clear all of the "unwanteds" outta their territory.

when an enemy attacks, you dont retreat you invade if you have the intent of conquering.....shock and awe....a show of overwhelming force. People should be flooding Sanford, Florida every day.......every weekend until they get sick of seeing protesters, more minorities, etc. MAKE THEM PACK UP AND LEAVE THE CITY OR STATE, OR RE-VISIT CHANGING THE LAWS outta frustration.....not us. and we should support BOBs in the process.

for entertainers, athletes and college kids going to play out of state thats cool.....but on the real, we aint gonna run outta states to boycott with all of the corrupt stuff going on across the boards.....
