Until these and other arcane, evil "laws" are modified or lifted.

Did you know:

In most civilized jurisdictions, the burden is on the defense to prove, at least more likely than not, that the law breaking was done for reasons of self-defense.

However:

In Florida, if self-defense is even suggested, it’s the states obligation to prove it’s absence beyond a reasonable doubt(!).

Economic activism in Florida is the only way to get the KKK that control the legislature (and who are still trying to fight the civil war) to change.

I pledge that I will not go back to that state, where I have been mistreated as 3/5 of a human before.

this wont really work, there are MANY black owned small businesses in FL. (that a boycott would hurt).

This is dumb. You might as well boycott America.

This is and will always be my form of Non-violent civil disobedience. I am not the type of person who will march in the streets, I give money to causes that I believe in, and I will NOT support entities that are out to destroy me and people that look and think like me. I believe that economic warfare is the most effective way to initiate change in this country.

Collateral damage. The only power that black ppl have in this country are our economic dollars that we give almost exclusively to non black people.

Im so sick of excuses why we cant ever send a message or fight back.

If the small black business in florida are really a concern its up to the blk people that live in florida to patronize them over the jews arabs asians and crackers that have been leeching off us since the dawn of the 20th century.

I have to agree with this part. Many people have been doing it for years.

Yes, minority-owned businesses make up 12% of all businesses in Florida (I've considered this already). From a strategic standpoint however, it makes no sense to postpone action that would provide a more comprehensive long-term benefit, to reduce near-term pain. Remember that the needs of the many supersede the needs of the few.

We are spending too much time talking about Zimmerman when we should focus on the bigger issue at hand - the general assault of the Whiteman controlled system on black folks worldwide - In the belly of the beast.

We fail to recognize that we have been losing this global war in the last 600yrs.

Slavery, colonization, and now back to slavery by another name!

Z-man is just one person. Someone can easily take him out, but that will not solve the problem that we are losing the war and it is primarily our fault!

We need to get our heads straight! Get off the corners and teach the next generation to be better!

Why would you boycott an entire state based on 6 people's opinion? What are you hoping to accomplish, a retrial? Attention to the fact that you disagree with the verdict? What can the state of Florida do to change the verdict?

.....:smh:

You really think only 6 ppl were involved here?:lol::lol:

So nothing systematic about the verdict? Not the stand your ground laws? Not the influence of GZ's father? Not the incompetence of the legal system, attorney general, prosecutors?

And im not saying FL is the only devil. But lets deal with the devils as they arise. Start here and work your way around. Blk ppl always want to delay things until infinity

not sure where I stand on the boycott idea (cause white people would hear about it and organize to make sure they could send extra business that way to make up for our lost business)... but at least for a while, the state would feel it, if we did that. Might make them take really hard look at their laws. I know this wasn't a stand your ground case officially, but stand your ground was a ghost sitting there in the court room. It would maybe also make every neighborhood watch association put out clear guidelines about following people, and what to not do about us pesky negros walking down the street minding our own business, etc.

There were 6 jurors. I'm not sure how to respond to the rest of your comments.

Is there any data that says stand your ground disproportionately affects blacks? I think there is a massive overreaction going on here.

I dont know how I can boycott florida when I am in it but I am trying to figure out how to get my wine and stuff for dinner from Black owned businesses and also how to not have to come in contact with any CAC cause the way I feel i KNOW that if one even looks at me half sideways I will SNAP :smh: Guess I going real stealth with shades on with my heavy heavy heart...

You can't boycott an entire state. But you can boycott companies incorporated within Florida.

A specific boycott aimed at select companies could be very effective but this can't be a once a week, a month or year thing. The people need to be on it everyday they live until the desired results are received. I would suggest a company like Publix for starters.

Not sure about the data. I do know that George Zimmerman and Trevor Dooley got very different verdicts for similar cases. Self defense claim worked for George and not for Trevor. Trevor showed his gun (wrong to do), but then walked away and was tackled by a younger white dude, then shot him in the scuffle. All witnesses including the dead guys daughter said that was how it happened. Zimmerman follwed a guy doing nothing wrong, profiled him (wrong to do) and SAYS the guy knocked him down and got on top of him and banged his head on the sidewalk and shot the guy in the scuffle.

Two men, two different verdicts. Two different sets of jurors too, I know, but still, the vastly different outcomes say something.

Massive overreaction? Ok, that's your belief...but although I'm not prone to overreacting about stuff myself, this case hits home for me. I've been profiled many many times. Spent my teen years living in a white neighborhood, and had people looking at me sideways for not looking like I belonged there, etc. I know without any doubt that if that was me walking down the street that night, George would have called the cops on me and followed me (black hoodie almost never leaves my body during the winter).... and I would feel threatened just like Trayvon did. Probably would have confronted the guy following me even sooner. Something tells me that if I had taken the gun out of the hands of the guy following me and killed him (cause I'm not a 17 year old boy), that jury would not give my self defense claim the same consideration they gave to Zimmerman's claim.

edit: quick search for stats on the race thing yielded this. Not sure if it has been debated or anything for veracity, but the source is legit:

The problem is if you do nothing you'll still get fucked over. :hmm:

how do you figure. whats are black folks so financially dependent on in florida?
jus wondering. not from there

The thing is, two issues I have with Florida.

1. Any crime/situation dealing with a gun should go to a grand jury. It should not be up to the local police department. This is how it is in Texas, and other a lot of other states *I believe around 25 other states...but I might be wrong*.

2. Once you disobey a dispatcher *he/she should have the same jurisdiction as the police. Meaning, his/her word is the law.* self defense plea becomes sketchy. However, if you're on your property *car, house, yard, or anything legally owned by you*, and someone attacks you, you should be able to use the ole castle doctrine.

Boycotting Florida will not change these issues. The people of Florida have to come together, and demand their representatives/senators to upgrade the laws. Not to mention, update their sentencing method when it comes to violent crimes.

Notice how when folks start talking about interrupting the flow of MONEY, they nay saying starts, and gets stronger, and stronger, and stronger...

You want us to boycott Florida for the decision of 6 jurors? Since when did 6 peoples action represent the millions of people who live in a state?

Again, when does the decision of 6 people reflect the feelings of an entire state?

You assuming that the majority of the state were pulling for Zimmerman based off 6 peoples decision. Also most of Florida is multi cultural

How long u gonna continue this go against the grain shit you been doing for years. :smh::smh:

Do you have a business in Florida? If you do thats really the only dog you should have in this hunt. Directing our dollars elsewhere would speak volumes because thats the only weapon we have in this System. The black dollar is always taken for granted and it shouldnt be because we dont ever SPEAK with our money. Keep shoveling right into the devils pockets.

The SYSTEM in the state of Florida is the issue not the pawns that were elected into the jury.

There's no need to "wonder".

I needed groceries and wine today. I did not go to Publix I went to a Haitian supermarket and I did not go to Total Wine I went to a Black owned liquor store and my wine is not quite up to my standard today but I dont give a fuck.

Wow my errands run was a TRIP. Sad to report that I saw pigs fucking with Black people EVEYWHERE and it was impossible to avoid all CACs but I was surprised to see that they are TERRIFIED! Never have I seen them so meek and timid, some with looks of guilt and shame, some just SHOOK, none of them able to look any of us in the face and you best believe I gave them some COLD HARD STARES and watch them squirm. Thankfully I do not have to leave house for a few days now. Can feel the evil and the tension in the air.
