They delivered the bitch yesterday!!!!

Set up already and testing out YouTube.

THE SHIT IS FLAWLESS!!! Playback at least Youtube is smooth as fuck on this bitch.

I've played a couple of HD videos, and it looks crystal clear.

I'll try a few VEVO ones and report back.

Playback from a tab is kinda choppy in quality, YouTube is great.

UPDATE: VEVO videos playback is smooth and clear in HD. :yes:

My hacked WDTV player doesn't play VEVO music videos anymore.

2. Portable (travelers can hook it up in hotels... Take it to friends houses... Etc...)

Im sure there will be more now that its rooted and devs will find other uses.

If you already have a SmartTV, or any other streaming player, then you really do not need ChromeCast.

The benefits:

Seamlessly play YouTube videos on your TV via a phone, laptop or tablet. Your phone/tablet literally becomes your remote to control the videos.

Same thing with NetFlix videos. Great if you are on the go.

Easily play videos from your tablet on your TV. Videos from the Chrome browser are choppy and slow for now.

Nothing really but since it has open development and can be rooted we will see.

I found some extra settings on the Chromecast extension for Chrome.

So I went to my Chrome extensions window and clicked "Options" for the Google Cast extension.
In the tab, I right clicked > Inspect Element.

I noticed that a section of the page had a "display: none;" so I removed that and got this:

The only issue is Google privacy disclosures. They track and keep so much information from what you watch and stream.

Has to be ChromeCast compatible for now, or within the Chrome browser.

Almost bought one, but I just do not see a need for it.

I have some kind of streaming box connected to all my TVs already so buying this adds no advantage for me.

This would be good to have if you travel a lot

I have a HDTV in my van and i do alot of camping this is great for me :dance::dance::dance: and the price :yes::yes:

It's been hacked!!!

In record time...only a matter of months (hopefully weeks) until we start seeing 3rd party content developed for it. Or possibly the ability to stream anything from your phone or comp!! thats worth $35

Slap the XBMC remote from Android store and it's a wrap. I'll buy 10 of these joints.

update: just read on XBMC forums, they got Python working on it and said that Chrome has a dependency on it as to be a blocker at the moment. I am sure they will get XBMC onto that, then it's a wrizzap!
