First gun... yeah in light of that f'ed up verdict. Seems like this one is a popular choice due to it's size.

I know absolutely nothing about these things so just looking for some tips. We have a gun show next weekend here and I'm probably gonna pick one up there.

Small frame for easy concealment High capacity and lightweight as possible.
Dont spare the money and buy quality ....period.
.40 cal is better though.

Full size get a ruger p95 or sr9

Shoots like butter

Compact glock 26

Just make it simple, go to the range and try out a bunch of different pieces to see what you feel comfortable with. Aside from brand names, no one elses suggestion may be the one YOU need. Everyone seems to love Glocks but I actually prefer Springfield XDm 40 compact after actually owning 4 Glocks. When it comes to a gun it's all about what suits YOU.

get a glock if your gonna go 9mm for carry. Very reliable. Also get a gun safe and frequent that range.

If I were going 9mm glock would be my first choice.

I personally shoot a HK .45 USP, expensive but I paid for the quality - Smooth butter like cycles, over 1,500 round through it and has not had a single problem.

If you have small hands it's a bit big but very quality and would never get rid of it for any other weapon, but like other have already said you have to see what is most comfortable for you.

Target Acquisition and Termination in a tense situation and any caliber of weapon can do that.

I have a 40 cal....9mm higher velocity but 40 with hollow points more knock down power ..imo

Can someone with a lot of experience with firearms start a Gun 101 thread of some sort to educate those of us who might want to own a firearm?

Thanks

Get a Hi-Point :gun04::thumbsup:

lol now that is just not right If would need to start again I would stay away from the budget price weapons. nothing beats an HK or a SIG Saur, but the XD models are nice if you don't have the budget for an HK or an SS

.40 produce more stopping power than any 9mm round, go to the high ground forum and do your own research.

Glock 19 - Best 9mm handgun around

Just because you like them don't make Glock the best.

Any of the top brands are fine, it all comes down to personal preference.

Smith & Wesson M&P

FN FNX

Ruger

Sig Sauer

Beretta PX4 Storm

Springfield Armory

(In no particular order)

I have a EMP and had to send it back for repairs now it is just a range gun I will never buy Springfield again btw I am selling an EMP (springfield) for only $1000 with 4 mags

I didn't know stating MY opinion would make niggas feel some type of way. And Im not basing that just because I like them its one of the most purchased guns for a reason, my first Glock is going on 18 years without a single problem.
