I want a 9mm... any tips?

Exactly what I was thinking

lol AKs are not all that, if you was a SHOOTER you would know that. I don't like to shoot a AK or a glock due their crude feel and rough slide action. but this is just a ass and titty forum not a shooter forum. I rather have an m11 (any stamp steel weapon) than an AK due you can't aim it (just squeeze and pray to hit the target) but I am a shooter so to the novice a glock or an ak would suffice

Can someone with a lot of experience with firearms start a Gun 101 thread of some sort to educate those of us who might want to own a firearm?

Thanks

I 2nd this...we need a separate gun forum on here...

Get a 40 cal glock 22 4th gen...you wont be sorry

Get one YOU feel comfortable with. I would consider the glock 19. Its a reason this is one of the best selling handguns of all-time.

Love this thread fellas! The time for marching is over...we've been doing that for 50+ years and they still value dogs lives over human lives. Whats a good handgun that can be fired from a seated position?

I have the .40 compact version, this is a nice piece, I also own a S&W M&P 9c, FN FNP-45, and a Para stainless Warthog .45

I currently carry the Beretta.

please retract the slide on any SIG or HK and then you will never touch a glock again

Im Glock for life....full size Glocks feel good...plus the added features to interchange the barrels and clips I can go to .357 or 9mm with the lonewolf conversion..

I may get 10mm or 45 in a couple of weeks

...I wouldnt be too sure about this unless I called and actually talked to them...

I remember many getting fucked from many sites claiming to sell this same device

really, I read that they were slow to deliver but they are a lot of "gun forums on the net with great opinions. I was building a 6.5 grendal to replace my .308s but I decided to go somewhere that I know (both legally and culturally) I am just seen as a source of income. I have a lower ( fully populated ar15 megamachine), monolithic upper, and a noveske barrel w/pig <,separate project

lol LONE WOLFs are some GREAT barrels I have a dual ported barrel for my 21 but the only reason I have one to match with my KRISS but both my sig 229 and 226 have 2 barrels (40/357 sig)

First gun... yeah in light of that f'ed up verdict. Seems like this one is a popular choice due to it's size.

I know absolutely nothing about these things so just looking for some tips. We have a gun show next weekend here and I'm probably gonna pick one up there.

Skip the nine and get a .40, more stopping power than a nine and the magazines hold almost the same number of rounds.

Keltec PF-9 best conceal 9 on the market

Damn Black, you and I usually agree on firearm related posts. Not this time, IMO the PF9 is one of the worst concealed 9 out there. From the long gritty trigger pull, slide to frame fit, this pistol flat out sucks. The size is great deep carry, this is what initially caught my interest. I purchased one and the cons just outweighed the pros for my situation.

OP As others have stated go to a range with a good rental selection, and try before you buy. Get some range time behind a multitude of guns that feel right in your hand, and in the place you intend to carry. Some professional training can be helpful, if you have never fired a gun. Also consider the ease or difficulty used to take down the fire arm of your choice. Any gun that is a chore to take down will probably not get cleaned very often.

lol I own a Keltek KSG yes a KSG but I would never depend on it

FUCK it is time to introduce everyone that is well known in the GUN world say hello to tannerite, which is 100% legal in most states we just make our own

DO your research and BUY A WEAPON please don't forget the cost of the weapon is nothing the COST and availability of the AMMO is!!!
I wished I never got my ps90SBR I never get my money back from that one, plus the $200 tax stamp

I purchased a beretta because I used it for 20 years in the army. Plus I know how to maintain and zero the weapon.

I have a great MOA, but how you zero a hand gun (aka pistol), I own several handguns from an EMP, SIGs (non full size), and one old fashion 1911 (colt), I never had to move the sights (but I did change to night sights of course)

For your first handgun I always say go 9mm or .40.
9mm if you're scary around firearms. Good learning caliber...
.40 if you actually want kill your "attacker" while saving some ammo.;)

I love this board, the man says..."I want a 9mm..." and yall start running on about other shit!!:smh:

and then we have the shooting experts......:smh:

The difference between calibers is not huge....personally, availabilty of ammo and capacity are the most important.....that's why I carry either a Glock 19 or 26 with a spare G17 mag, depending on what I'm wearing.

most people on here that argue for the bigger calibers never miss, and have walls lined with shooting trophies, and are probably retired Seals or Delta Force........so take their advice with a grain of salt.

I carry a Ruger LCP so I can pocket carry. For awhile I carried a Glock 26 which is a lot of firepower but that thing gets heavy. Had a Keltec PF-9 for awhile and it was slim and carried I believe 8 rounds of 9mm which is nice. Are they the best looking guns...Hell no but take it to the range and put it through the paces to know its good to go. They also have aftermarket trigger kits for it as well. I'm surprised no one has said the M&P Shield.

most handgun firings are under 10 feet please and under duress

lol I was never assigned to socom unit, just a regular (wearer of the BLUE rope) SOLDIER. But I do/did compete 2 and 3 gun competitions and a member of the local CQB team. NOW I am attempting some mid-distance shooting, due to the belly lol

agree and TRY non-dominated hand (non supported) while walking/running shooting too

Learn the gun laws of your State.

Go to the gun range and try them all out. Whatever one best suits you is the one. Just remember you get what you pay for. So I'd said $500 and up. O..and take a gun safety class beforehand.

Brother, what do you mean by Zero the weapon ????

I believe he is speaking on sighting the weapon.

This is my Beretta PX4 Storm (.40 compact), I went to purchase the sub-compact but I did not like the fit in my hand.

I like SA/DA pistols.

Question of the day: Why did S&W invent the .40 round?

Although there is debate on what the exact textbook definition of "Zeroing" is. The simple answer is, "To Zero: To adjust a firearm's sights so that the point of aim is the point of impact." YMMV

:lol::lol:

You guys go ahead and try to purchase one of these if you want. The BAFTE will have a cell warmed up for you at club fed, and up to 250K in fines.

 that is what I was thinking as well....

i damn near said fuck it and then it was like i could see in the future the feds knocking at my door as soon as i hit the checkout and ship button
