Paula Deen begs for your forgiveness. Dropped by food Network

call me crazy but i would be more shocked if she said she didnt use racist words. She is an old southern white woman at one point in her life those terms were all she knew to describe black people.

This is what I said in the other thread, she's old enough to have DEFINITELY gone to segregated schools growing up, and her comments about "The jokes I know about Jews and Blacks are the funny ones!" (paraphrasing here) speaks DIRECTLY to how she was raised, her WHOLE DAM FAMILY is probably racist, but to them these types of jokes are normal, everyday dinner conversation.

Shit REALLY ain't that long ago, hell, I've mentioned before that a small town that my family lives near in NC called Scotland Neck still has a few old buildings where the lead paint has faded and you can still read "COLORED" above the back door leading into these places.

Weird enough, what's taking her down is her honesty, her own statements tell us that she herself doesn't feel as though she's done or did anything wrong, but she's just "learned" that her type of thinking isn't acceptable.

She wasn't living in a racist ass bubble all these decades. Why aren't their a gang of white people who grew up in those times talking like that in public. She knew wtf she was saying she just thought she was more important than she really was and she wouldn't get called out on it.

He hates her.

probably even more so now that this broke..

should send his MMA-loving wife to do a few roundhouse kicks to her head

Because they learned better than her to keep their mouths SHUT, lol!!!

She wasn't living in a racist bubble, but grew up in one, that's all I'm saying!

But in case you didn't notice, just look @ the explosion of militia groups since Obama was elected, try popping in to one of their meetings and tell me how they speak!

Keep in mind that what she said is in a court deposition, the time that she admitted to using the n-word (besides in front of the woman suing) was between her & her husband, what I am saying is that people of her generation (baby boomer) who grew up where she did have this ingrained in their psyche, I can guarantee that when dogs were getting sicked on our people this bitch and her family gave not one fuck, her Daddy was probably on some "THAT'LL TEACH'EM!" type ish, the thing is now this bitch took her "friendly, open" persona ish too far, and now she's paying the price!!!

I'm torn because anyone born white before 1970, I just have to assume they used nigga everyday as freely as we did once NWA came out. I went to school wit' em, played sports wit 'em, even f*cked their sisters and daughters, but I was never under the impression they saw me as the same.

What did it for me is the separate bathrooms and the backdoor entrance.

I saw the Jesse Owens story when it first came on TV as a kid and them having to eat food in the back with the cooks turned my stomach about being treated less than human for the rest of my LIFE.

It's wrong, but I can't forgive her for that. That sh!t was out of line, out of place, in terrible taste, and absolutely unnecessary in this new millennium.
my aunt watched her. i say watched because when i heard of this i called her and told her and she said and i quote "well fuck that bitch then"
:eek::lol::lol::lol:
It doesn't matter what she said she would still be able to keep her job.
Not one white person has ever lost their job for good when saying some sideways shit
out their mouth about Black people.
And this is more OUR fault than theirs.

You know my girlfriend told me something this week that made sense: THEY TAKE! Don't get mad and complain when they do what they do. YOU TAKE! And that is what I am going to start doing.

Ain't no entitlements.
Food Network done dropped her ass :lol::lol:
And I mean that was QUICK!:smh:
black twitter is going IN on her

#pauladeensbestdishes

:lol::lol:

"we shall over crumb cake"
"white devils food cake"
"ku klux klams"
"paula deen can teach you how to properly segregate the egg whites from the colored yoks"
"uncle TOMato soup"
"massa-roni n cheese"
This sh!t is CLASSIC!
Never heard of this story. Just saw a youtube video summarizing it. Typical outcome. One thing I will type is Black folks need to learn how to crush to the point of no return.

Now.....
Relating to the lawsuit...the fact that its "that bad" for some Black folks...whereas theyre willing to work for anyone that puts them through that type of bs in 2013.....I mean really....is it that bad?

Im sure some of you work for companies that put you through all types of bs...may not be as extreme as what Paula Deen's employee were allegedly going through..but still..im sure it makes some of you all not want to go to work some days.

I know its harder for some to move around than it is for others....the economy is bad blah blah blah. But I find it hard to believe that working for these type of people are your ONLY OPTION to making money. Shit cant be that bad whereas youre willing go to work and get BLATANTLY treated like a slave.

Its 2013...we really need to get our shit together!
Ride on the southside of your city and take a long look.

Or, you can come down here to the hospitable South and I can take you to places where people look like they made bad decisions, when in fact due to the system of racism, many bad decisions were made for them. Come on down, I can show you people in Savannah living in the "city" living in straight f*ckin' shacks, dog tied to a tree, baby in a cloth diaper on the steps, and ain't no future worth talkin' about. They are the ones that become your service workers "with no way out".
maybe some "back of the bus biscuits" accompanied with "some of my best friends are black eyed peas"?
Man, it's a tough crowd.
She's finished.
:itsawrap:

Time to replace her...

She is a decade and a half over due for a cooking show. Period!
so all of this is over her calling someone a nig..er

what cac hasn't used the word n.....r before.. foh over the fake outrage :hmm:
It's true, but it doesn't make it RIGHT! You can't talk to people to their face like that and as a black person, I can't allow someone to talk to my face like that AT MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. Not the customer, MY EMPLOYER!
White people are in denial about how shameful their "heritage" is.
BING-f*cking-O!

Yeah, see my opening rant. We all grow, though. To be great, you gotta grow.

Thank you!!!

You can't blurt this stuff out in public whether it was in court or not. It's career suicide. I think Dog The Bounty Hunter's career survived his public outburst. If it ain't suicide it's a crushing blow. I think Mel Gibson took some hits from his outburst as well as Dr Laura.

Dog is a dude and he has his own biz catching scumbags, he ain't get hurt.

And Mel Gibson is Mel fucking Gibson. Paula empire is worth $17M (I got this from the news so it may or may not be right). Mel is worth like half a billion.

Well he was before the divorce

He ain't hurtin...

Co sign

Bitch only apologizing cause her money about to be fucked up

She better tell Aunt Jemima to move on over cause the slavemaster needs shelf time now

foodnetwork needs to bring-on a top-notch, serious, black chef now... something they've failed to do since they started.

there are too many italian cooking shows.
there are too many 'reality' type shows...mofos stay racing the clock. :smh:

it's time for a serious, well-produced show that features some minority chefs and ethnic foods... and the real techniques for making the dishes.:yes::yes:

Good point.

That's the same thing Denny's did back in the 90s when the race thing blew up with their business. Every commercial had a black person in it. They hired Steve Harvey as their spokesperson. They started the $1.99 Grand Slam promotions back then.

All of that was part of their reconstructing their brand and image and trying to recover from the horrible PR that the racist accusations brought on them.

If they are smart they will jump on this opportunity and capitalize. Plenty of great top notch black cooks and chefs out there.

But when you say "in her time" thats like saying that shit ain't going on right now in 2013 which in turn excuses her behavior as old habits that were accepted in tha time she grew up in so its not 100% her fault.
When Trayvon got shot even though Zimmerman wouldn't be accepted in tha Klan their were a bunch of white people both young and old saying "well thats what he gets" so we know that mentality is still strong today and all Paula was doing was cacing out loud instead of behind closed doors.
Basically what i'm saying is a white person doesn't have to come from tha 50's for their family to project those types of feelings. They can do that right now and thats how a lot of them operate. This bitch knew right from wrong she just thought that since she got this lil show and sells cakes and other shit that she would get some type of pass. Her behavior had nothing to do with her being raised in tha 50s.She was just trying to be slick.

Technically ain't nothing really happen to her.If she lives to be 100 and then dies without ever being put back on tv and whateva products she sells got dropped from all retailers and never put back on tha shelves from now until tha day she dies, then we can say she got punished.

My friend Sita Lewis just fot food network show. 2 sistas. Goodle or youtube her. Show will air in fall.

NOT giving her a pass for ANYTHING, I'm simply saying that in her own mind she's done NOTHING wrong, that's why when asked if she's used the "N-word" in the past she didn't think about it, she didn't say "Yes!", this bitch said, "Yes, of course!", no different than if they asked her if she took a bath everyday!

She grew up in that world, that WASN'T her choice just like it's not any of your own children's faults where you live now, this woman is 67, SAME age as my Mother, who went to segregated schools growing up in North Carolina, even though we ALL learn things as we grow up there are still certain ways of thinking that are imprinted & ingrained upon us from childhood that would be next to impossible to change, no different than certain "behaviors" & mannerisms that your own children pick up from their friends today, @ the end of the day YOU teach them right from wrong, but what if the Father figure in her life just taught her wrong?

Understand?

She's been around herself long enough to know this ish is wrong, no doubt, she said so herself, I'm just pointing out that even though PR wise she knows it's wrong, in her own mind, because of the era she was raised in, peeps just called Black people the "N-word" & didn't think twice about it, twisted side is that her type never have any problem working alongside of, or dealing with Black people, but trust that in her mind we could NEVER be equals.:smh:

For her to answer "Yes, of course!" tells me that she wasn't worried about her show or the money, she was in her own bubble, she's seeing that bubble burst now so now we are seeing her own, sloppy way of damage control, and the reason that it's sloppy is because in her heart she STILL feels that she did nothing wrong, and is somewhat confused as to what the fuss is all about.

NOT excusing her @ all, just delving into her line of thought is all.

I don't mean you personally I mean when people accept its tha way she was brought up thats why she thought it wasn't wrong then shes almost given a pass. She could have used that "when I was growing up" excuse when she was in her 20s but tha bitch is damn near 70, how much growing up was this bitch doing until she got a clue???
Theirs a gang of motherfuckaz from her era that grew up that way but they KNOW better then to say tha shit she said out loud unless they are amongst their own.
Her line of thought is she thought she would get a pass because of who she was.It ain't like this is modern day Argentina where they still have TV shows in Black face.
