in Q1 the first spurs sub that impacted them was the cory joseph substitution.

it wasn't that his play was exceptionally poor, it was that his presence did not create a threat for the heat to attend to.

the second and more important substitution was when tim duncan went out.

without tim duncan in the paint on D, lebron james went on a streak of end to end layups.

i'm certainly no fan of emanuel ginobili, but he didn't play horrible in Q1. like cory joseph, he merely failed to give the heat a reason to care about him.

i'm not a fan of boris diaw, but he was making some good contributions in Q3.

i think boris diaw made a huge mistake when he put on all the added weight. when he carried less weight on his frame he was more versatile and a bigger threat.
