Spurs Vs Grizzles Thread

The Spurs are just as good at closing out.

They are good when they are not forced to collapse in the paint... Look I think that playing small is going to create a chain reaction that goes the following...
To help out vs James in the paint, the are going to collapse more in the paint (especially if there is no shot blocker in the game) now if they choose to keep the shot blocker in the game, then it would leave Duncan and Splitter to guard against Battier and Bosh in the perimeter, a move that may also pull the big guys out of the paint, or leaving them free from the outside..
On top of all of that, the Spurs have to worry about Wade getting into the paint and driving also.
Again not saying that it would be impossible for the Spurs to win, its just that out of the two teams the Heat can play the way they normally play, with out much of a problem, however, the Spurs have a ton of adjustments to make, and not enough flexible players to flex with..

Ok, dude... :smh:

The problem with playing big, will be the same problem the Thunder had, last year, that is after playing against big athletic and physical teams like Indiana, Chicago and last year's Boston, going against a softer less athletic version of those teams will almost be like having the weight lifted off of your back.. And the fact that the Heat had almost a month of training and preparing to go against this scheme of defense, only makes matters more challenging for the Spurs.

Tim Duncan wouldn't get no rings if he was in the east
:hmm:But hes has chips. I don't get it?

Oh I didn't get the memo Tim Duncan was the best power forward of all time even over Malone and Barkley. I thought it was debatable but shit man according to you its not.

And you niggas get stuck in this "rings" shit. Ginobilli got 3 rings so he's one of the best 2 guards of all time? Spurs system wouldn't work without Duncan but let's don't sit here and act like Duncan was the only nigga on the team. He had a GREAT head coach and had a GREAT supporting cast.
Uhhh, yeah! When is the last time you seen those guys with rings, or league MVP, or Finals MVP, or all of the above.

That homegrown has affected many people on the board. Hell, ship a pound my way. It must be outrageous.
:eek:Yooo. Word. I haven't even noticed that kat was gone.

Man, I feel you. Pop let that ninja go "smooth" like.

I'm not. Indiana is the best defensive team in terms of opponent 3 point percentage. However, Shane specifically has been shooting poorly the last 20 games. Sometimes players go through shooting slumps. Even Ray Allen is having problems from the free throw line. That is why I was posting in the Indiana vs Miami thread that Indiana was in a tough spot because they still haven't seen the best ball from Miami. And even though Miami shot poorly, it wasn't ALWAYS because the defense forced them into tough shots. They just missed a lot of wide open looks.

Even though Ray is an all-time great shooter... he's still a streaky shooter. Remember Ray is the same player who couldn't buy a shot against LA in the finals that Boston lost and it wasn't because of defense.

walter ray & battier BOTH can't create shit off the dribble.

if... IF they play the spurs, coach pop will not leave them out there alone to shoot spot-up 3's to find their stroke... ain't gonna happen.

both are limited by age at this point, and the spurs have enough team defense to run them off of the line if necessary.

to beat the spurs, you have to move the ball around and around with PASSING and unselfish play bc their help defense is "illegal" and NOT called by the refs.
