Just finished watching. Dam good game. Duncan showing his worth once again as the team fucking collapsed once he went out for an extended time and his presence didnt spread the floor and open shots (combined with parker showing fatigue). Game three is gonna be interesting. I cant call it either way, Griz could blow them out or Spurs could steal one.

Hopefully grizz can build off that added lineup with Bayless and Dexter, yes we would sacrifice defense but Allen/Prince were being abused anyway so.......

No such thing as illegal defense anymore playa, u can zone, this is why Pop is such a good coach, they have been fronting Zach all day, with a great system of zone coverage as you said, and arent staying in the paint too long, we'll see what adjustments Hollins will make if any in Memphis to help get Randolph going, great fucking game lastnight tho.

when prince is in the game, leonard is TOTALLY disrespecting him by playing the "double down" game on zach randolph and leaving prince behind the 3 pt line. alone.

if prince could hit the broad side of a barn, leonard wouldn't leave him like that.

so do you know how to adjust? gasol up top at the FT line... zach on pick & roll and prince ON THE BLOCK ON THE WEAK SIDE.

mark my word: prince as a post player & randolph playing pick & roll with conley. since gasol is capable of hitting the mid-range jumper, duncan has to come-out and that leaves the lane open for zach.

if they double zack off the roll, rotate the ball around and feed prince in the post. that's right... post that mofo on leonard; he's damn near 7 ft. let bayless float on prince's side for kick-out 3's... since he's the ONLY consistent jump shooter.

DEFENSE
the clips problems with the grizz can be described by two words:

"defensive footwork."

griffin & jordan have no defensive footwork and very limited offensive footwork.

basketball is about angles & footwork. zbo had AWESOME position in the lane all series... using his body to abuse two players that BOTH have 2x more athleticism than him.

to limit zbo, coach pop is smothering him in the lane and totally disrespecting the grizz being able to hit jumpers. zbo is getting to the spots, but he's surrounded by spurs.

i saw about 10 illegal defense calls in that game... refs NEVER blew the whistle.


OFFENSE
i hate the spurs. but this is what coach pop PREACHES to his players. proper attack angles can be witnessed by watching ginobili & parker, esp. ginobili. he's not that quick/fast, not very athletic, but when he drives, he's almost always able to score-even against bigger players.

tim duncan is the "big fundamental" so he's always in the right position to threaten offensively.

for the rest of the night, pay close attention to how the spurs have at least 3 people parked inside the lane on EVERY memphis possession-regardless of how memphis spaces the floor.

the spurs have not had a single illegal defense called on them this series... enabling them to smother zbo and gasol in the post.

In Detroit he knocked down open jumpers and got garbage points. 11 points 6 rebound a game type of dude with a couple of steals and blocks here and there. Never seen him more than that.
