First Look at Marvel's Agents of SHIELD

The last time i watch network tv was back in the 90s.I might give this a shot. But i will wait until they got 22 shows in the can.I'm not going to get hype over a show that might get the axe by the 8th show.

This is different. This show NEEDS to stay on the air to be supplemental to the success of the Marvel Phase films. I doubt they would cancel this series knowing that it will likely help bring more people into the theaters.

their was never any cursing or nudity on the big screen. you're not making any sense.

and i think this show will do good because the average non-reader will see this as an avenger sequel just like iron man 3, despite the fact that this show takes place before the avengers.

i hope RDJR and chris evans (without their costumes) do make cameo appearances here and there along with hawkeye. but dont expect to see thor, dr. banner and etc. the most you'll probably get is references to them.

From what I understand, some of the members will be appearing on the show...

Man DC/Warner fucked up so much potential $$$ by not doing ANYTHING supplemental with Smallville. . . . I mean damn that show was on for what 9 yrs and you couldnt help introduce anyone but Arrow? get the fuck outta here!!

Also I will be watchin this shit. Looks damn good so far!!

Well so much for all the actors who have wanted this role. Its pretty much confirmed now that Angel's J. August Richards is going to be Luke Cage. He has signed on to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. On ABC in a secret role that has been under wraps from the media. Now obviously he is not Nick Fury, because Sammy L has that role locked down. So who else would he play? The new teaser trailer for the TV series has been released showing a hooded black man in yellow and black (Power Man's colors), falling from a building carrying a woman in his arms. This couldnt be anybody, but Power Man Luke Cage. Plus Richards is later clearly slamming someone into the ground, clearly showing his super strength. Looks lime we got a winner.

I know people are gonna be mad that they didn't cast a bigger actor for this role, since so many higher profile people have eyed that part. But I'm not surprised. I personally wished they had cast Terry Crews, or someone who really looks the part, but Joss Whedon likes to reuse a lot of his old cast members, so this was probably the first black dude he knew to call. I woulda prefered an R rated full origin movie for him, but im sure Disney wont go there. Casting aside, him debuting on the tv show, instead of the Avengers gives him more exposure, and more of an origin story, that wouldnt been able to be shown in the Avengers. Check out the trailer, and screen caps below.

BGOL....you dudes better stop hating on having a love interest on a show. What you dudes fail to realize is how hard it is to get men to watch shows. If you want high ratings for a non sports show you better get some women watching. That means some love story in it.

With that said I hope this does really well.

I was going to respond to that guy but seeing your post i didn't have too. These cats are emotionally stunted.

I think the premise of the show will be like X-Files/Fringe with a twist of Heros/Alphas based in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

we'll know the show gets canned if there a next season when theres a article saying "Summer Glau joins the cast as (insert name of new,made-up SHIELD agent or C/D-lister Marvel hero/villain character here)"

i bet sweeps week is when theyll most likely mention or even have small guest appearances by popular Marvel characters, like, say, either thomas jane or ray stevenson as The Punisher or maybe even wesley snipes as Blade for a "Halloween"-themed episode

Arrow on CW has nothing to do with Smallville. It's totally separate and this is also why they cast another actor.

I know they will mainly focus on the agents ,but i think its great that some popular Marvel heroes and villains will pop up here and there.

Joss Whedon knows how to make a movie but he knows how to make even better TV.

I have no doubt this will be good.

This is just an odd complaint to me. What superhero doesn't have a woman?

i aint mad at this.

Not what I pictured but I trust Joss...and he casts people you are genuinely talented actors. If you watched his various series although he likes to use many of the same actors they amazingly make each new role unique and distinctive. And why does Cage HAVE TO be big and imposing? Joss usually tries to insert some type of social commentary and put common stereotypes & ideas on there head.

Is that the guy who was the assasin on "Arrow" a few weeks ago?

Supposedly he's not playing Luke Cage...which is good. I can't picture that guy as Cage.

Will check out the show, think it might be decent.

Rumor on my FB feed...

According to IMDB, Travis Love who appeared in 10 episodes of The Walking Dead last season as Bowman will appear in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot episode.
Love will play Tony Masters aka Taskmaster. Not familiar with Taskmaster? Marvel’s wiki has some info.
