bed bug dilemna

So after 2 weeks off being eaten alive I called my exterminator out to search for the problem. I suspected bed bugs and a mild infestation was found on my matress. I was informed by the exterminator that he has seen problems 100 times worst than mine (only two live specimens found on my matress). After throwing away my bed, bed frame, dresser and night stand and bagging all my clothes for the cleaners and laundry mat I had the house sprayed for bed bugs and was told not to return for 3 to 4 hrs.

I'm going to launder all my simple clothes at the laundry mat, and take the better stuff to the cleaners. There were several 99cent (really $1.25) dry cleaners in LA at some time and now everyone charges upwards of $4 to clean a simple shirt. Does anyone know of any low cost cleaners in LA? Or have any advice on bedbugs? I def got them from work where I stay 3days a week in a communal space, gonna get proof and charge them for my hassles. I also did some research and found that home owners insurance doesn't cover them as they are considered pest. Thanks in advance.

Dude....I FEEL FOR YOU!!!
I had bed bugs once and i wouldn't wish that shit on my worse enemy...jets what you gotta do to get rid of them:

Bomb your house! Do that shit like 3 times, especially in the bedrooms.

Get new sheets or wash the old ones, then freeze them for 24 hours and then wash again.

Buy some bed bags. You can get them at Walmart for damn near any size bed. Get 2 of them, put one on then duct tape the zipper seam. Put the other bag on there and do the same! Suffocate them fuckers!!!

General seating areas like a den or living room bomb that bitch too! Flip all the couches/chairs over, cut a whole/slit thru that little protective cover on the bottom and BOMB AWAY...

it's a process man....a long one because bed bugs are like mosquitos...they follow you everywhere cuz of your body heat...that's how they keep finding you. Do what I'm telling you and you won't have to pay an exterminator

Didn't believe this shit was going to do anything.
But I am now a believer.
It kills pretty much any bug. Ants, roaches, spiders, bedbugs, centipedes, whatever.
Just spray it in trouble areas, or around insects' food and water sources.
Best part is that just a little amount keeps killing for so long, I'm only on my second bottle in 5 years. And I've beat down bedbugs in a couple of days and a strong ass roach infestation in less than a week. (It helps that you can dilute it with isoprophyl alcohol in case you run low.)

Re: bed bud dilemna

Invest in a steam cleaner. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003TJ4T8S/?tag=vp314-20 I got a cousin who is infamous for having that shit with her ratchet ass boyfriend. Sadly I won't invite them over and she has kids the same age as mine. Fuck a play date and ain't smoking with them fuckas either. How about boric acid..can that help him? We got fleas in our house once, years ago, it was the worst thing ever. Had an old school lady tell me to buy some boric acid, worked like a charm and the best part is that it's not toxic. We spent $6.00 on some mule team Borax and dusted our 2300 sq ft house..left for the weekend, came back..Vacumned it up..never saw a flea ever again. That was over 10 years ago. it works.

I had boll weevils, or saw toothed grain beetles infesting my apartment. You know the lil things you see in rice sometimes and in cereal. Them bitches were EVERYWHERE. The building "exterminated" but they didn't do shit. I even saw them shits in the bathroom...ain't no damned food in the bathroom. so I brought out the big guns.

My apartment was maybe what, 1200 sqft and they say 1 is good for 2000 sqft...I let loose 3 of them bitches.

OVER KILL

I put all the dishes I could in the dishwasher and the rest in the sink. THrew all food out, removed everything from every cabinet & placed the bombs in the hallway, living room and kitchen. Bombed on Monday...then Wednesday, and then Friday.

Saturday morning I opened the cabinet in the kitchen and saw one staring right at me. That sonofabitch did the Kill Bill 5 Point Palm exploding heart technique 5 steps and keeled over dead. I never saw another one.

So if you are going to bomb, OVER BOMB. If your house is 2000 square feet, get about 4 - 5 per floor on Monday, then Wednesday, then Friday or Saturday. IDK how long the eggs take to hatch, but that is what you are aiming for doing it the multiple days.

I saw bedbugs on my couch a few days after throwing a party but the day I took off my shirt and saw 1 on m stomach I went right to walmart and got 5 big bottles of 70% alcohol and sprayed like it was no tomorrow. 2 years later and have yet to see another 1. just spray that shit every day.

You can get them just by someone walking in your house with them on their clothes.

Thanks for all those who submitted advice...I have a washer, going to the laundry mat to rewash all my clothes I didn't throw away...still looking for a cheap dry cleaner in LA if anyone knows of one...thanks again!!! Its war!!! I have dominion over the things that crawleth upon the earth!

From what I've heard, simply washing your clothes doesn't kill them if they're in 'em. Don't you have to use HOT water, and potentially ruin your gear?

Yo brua....check your neighbors too...you might not have brought that shit from your job.

This dude is not lying. Get double sided tape and tape Around the wall sockets and your apartment, Everyone even the one behind furniture. Bed bugs have been known to crawl through the wall sockets an apartment buildings ... yeah. those things are different kind of evil bug. there are a lot of good cheap cures in here like suffocating them either in the bed or with alcohol and stuff. I can imagine having them things and I hope I never do

I had them just recently and they're no joke.

One of the most effective things you can use on them is food grade diatomaceous earth.

Make sure that it's food grade and not the kind used for swimming pools.

I swear by it and it also works for Ants and Roaches too.

You can also go to this link for more info and tips on how to stop them -

bed bugs are not only attracted by warmth but mostly by the carbon dioxide the host emits when they breath. the video below shows you a cheap easy way to identify if you have bed bugs or not. you may have to do this a few times just to make sure and set this up in the room you suspect is infested. once you do the most critical thing to remember is that you have to leave the house for a while after setting this thing up. if not the bugs will be drawn to your breath as well.

Fleas are not tough to kill. The only issue with fleas is that it takes multiple treatments to truly kill them. Fleas can only be killed when the eggs hatch. Fleas have a protective enzyme over their eggs which protects them.

For fleas one generally sprays to kill the adults and another spraying when the eggs hatch. Most of the eggs can be removed with a vacuum

Taping walls does nothing to prevent bed bugs. Bed Bugs are transferred mostly through fabric. For example you may sit or lay on bed or chair infested with bed bugs. They will attach to your clothing and hitch a ride with you. This is how they get from house to house.

I'm telling you, the boric acid killed them. What the boric acid does is dehydrate them, thus they can't bite, get a blood meal and reproduce. A box of 6.00 boric acid killed the fleas in our house and we never saw another one. That was over 10 years ago.

Yeah it works but not always effective especially cat fleas. But it is a key ingredient in most pesticides for fleas. Ones with growth regulators are best.
