What other races practiced racism

Thank you Bro, you hit the nail on the head.

We come into this world, programmed by society as we age and at some time we had to start questioning the assumptions we hold and come to new truths.

Else how is humanity to progress?

Questioning our assumptions should be par for the course as adults so that we leave a stronger foundation for our youth.

Indeed. It takes some longer than others to get out of the matrix, but when they do they will realize it was worth it. You get yourself back.

Progression for everyone is a must and it can only be done if people are willing to acknowledge the power structure is preventing certain people from doing that.

I think looking at some of the way most members on BGOL describe their interactions with people of other races is different from my own experience. I left home at seventeen, and stayed with a white family for almost three years when I joined the military. This was back in the mid 80s. I didn't have to deal with big city issues growing up, so that why I say it wasn't average.

Ok. I grew up in the country parts of NC. My town was majority white, so there was a lot of racism for me to experience. Some experiences was blatant and others I was too young to understand.

It took me going to a Black college and self-awareness to decipher what I thought was my reality. The moment I realized I was conditioned (under racism) I went through a character collapse and I became depressed. My depression turned into anger towards whites. My anger eased after a while.....

To understand racism doesn't mean to hate the oppressor. It means that you are aware. To be aware allows you to help fight racism either on a small scale or greater scale. Whites acknowledge, but will not change it because they rather forget it didn't happen. That leads to ignorance and thus the cycles continues to uphold the structure in their subconscious.

I think you are a little confused.

I am not talking about interactions with white people.

You are talking about prejudice.

I'm talking about racism.

That white family probably treated you great and I applaude them for that. They were not prejudice toward you.
However that did not stop them from benefitting from being white i.e. institutional white privilege. I'm sure they got the white people mortgage rate so that you could sleep in a comfy bed.

I only have a problem with the red part.

Whites acknowledge it but will not change it because they know they cannot compete on a level playing field as well as they will have to stop benefitting from it.

The "culture of silence" economically benefits them while at the same time making them seem like they are not a part of the problem.

Without white people benefitting, there would be no racism.

Try this experiment:

Ask your white friend if they would give back the difference in salary if they found out that the black co-worker was more qualified.
Ask that friend if they would join forces to demand equal pay for black co-workers.

Ask your neighbor if they would give back the difference in mortgage if they found out that similarly qualified applicants were given a lower type mortgage e.g. sub-prime.

We all know the results.

Lip service is NOT enough from white people.

The silence needs to stop.

When it come to the races Elijah Muhammad hit it right on the head. White people are devils and black people are God. When we read the bible and other holy books it is really a record of our thoughts. It is all about a person waking up and getting back control of themselves.
Our true identity as black people has been hide. Now we are carbon copies of whites. Successful devils. Living by white ideas, white values, etc. A worship of white.

As a black man we were born with certain natural powers as was demonstrated by Jesus. We are sold into a white reality. You cannot master a free thinker. And a person who wants freedom more than anything else in the world cannot sell his birth right of freedom.

A black man will never be free until he want freedom more than anything else in the world. More than money, more than power, more than fame, when he says I want to be free, give me liberty or give me death.

Who ever can over come, will open the door for everyone to start overcoming.

A collection of crumbs does NOT make a meal nor is it sitting at the table.

"being black is a crutch" shows that you are content with your crumbs.

There is an economic system underlying all of this shit.

A system that is structurally created to benefit one group.

Us benefitting is a consequence and definitely NOT by design.

Yet here in 2013, you are questioning my intention because I asked a question white people frequently cite, so that we can collectively see how the goalpost is being moved.

Yet, you have NOT answered the question.

Yet, you have NOT given your perspective.

You serve in the military advancing white imperialism...... even white people will tell you that, I don't have to be black to tell you that.

You are a pawn but a necessary pawn in this game.

But while you are playing the game please stop with this "massa we sick" mentality.

Many black soldiers before you have served and their country didn't give a shit about them and still doesn't to an extent.

So stop your bullshit.

Love the military! I can't live my life through anyone else eyes but mine. I judge by character not color. So if Im an idiot for feeling that way, so be it. People of all races feel like have been screwed over by the government(ever heard of McVeigh). It's a game Kanya. You can play the game, or get played. Never had a sub-prime loan, and never lost a promotion I deserved. I was simply bringing up again you seem to have been wronged by the system, and there's a lot of racism/hate or what ever you want to call it within you. Have you ever met a descent white man? Do you have any dealings with Asians, Europeans during your daily business interactions?

On an individual level, I haven't met anyone who could stop me yet, slow me down yes but not stop.

Also, a lot of people from different nationalities, ethnicities and races have helped me and are very decent people.

Does that stop them from having prejudiced thoughts? Does that stop them from benefitting from racism?

Does being decent preclude you from accepting injustice?

Would you have looked back at Rosa Parks at the back of that bus and told her be happy she is on the bus?

There is something called justice.

That requires personal integrity to stand up for what is right even though you are not the beneficiary of the outcome.

Because I benefit financially from the system, does that mean I turn a blind eye to the injustices of the system Samh?

Is that how life works?

You seem to think that I have some personal chip on my shoulder.

I don't.

I wasn't raised to think someone is doing me a favor out of the goodness of their heart.

You really think that is why the military is in other countries?

Doing them favors, bringing "democracy"?

Is that what you really believe?

How much do you really go along with the narrative Samh.

Play or get played?

No thank you.

I'm about building a new game.

Overstand that.

Pretty good video about India's Caste System.

THERE IS A CASTE SYSTEM al lover the world, some places ITS CALLED "BLUE BLOODISM" AND "ARISTOCRACY" AND "CHOSEN PEOPLISM"

THIS IS NO COMPARABLE TO RACISM NOT EVEN BY A 1 to100 RATIO,

Well I guess we could agree to disagree. We are at two totally different ends of the spectrum. I'm happy with what I've accomplished in life. I have no regrets. I hope you reach what ever you're trying to accomplish in life. Good luck.

Whether it racism, or a prejudice if you're in a situation that hinders your chances to succeed in life it's all the same in my opinion. You think the guys at the bottom of a Caste system feels like "I can deal with the prejudice system , but thank god they're not racist"?

On a personal achievement level, I'm happy.

As a collective we all have work to do so I can't take too much satisfaction in individual accomplishments.

That is where we differ.

Got it.

"Racism (white supremacy) is the local and global power system and dynamic, structured and maintained by persons who classify themselves as white, whether consciously or subconsciously determined; which consists of patterns of perception, logic, symbol formation, thought, speech, action, and emotional response, as conducted, simultaneously in all areas of people activity (economics, education, entertainment, labor, law, politics, religion, sex, and war); for the ultimate purpose of white genetic survival and to prevent white genetic annihilation on planet Earth - a planet upon which the vast and overwhelming majority of people are classified as nonwhite (black, brown, red and yellow) by white skinned people, and all of the nonwhite people are genetically dominant (in terms of skin coloration) compared to the genetic recessive white skin people."

Pretty simple stuff here folks.

"race" is not arbitrary nor an arbitrary definition.

"race" is a very deliberate creation.

It's a sociological construct created by Europeans.

"race" never existed throughout the entire homo sapien existence until 1600's.

"race" was created 200 years after slavery started.

No other groups throughout history have created "race".

Thus no other group could practice "racism".

If you disagree then give examples of other races practicing racism

White and non-white

Whites created "race" to classify people that were non-white

If white did NOT create race, we would not be black.

That's the thing. Most black don't hate other races period. No other race can hate like the white race. Blacks are the most forgiving race. We stay trusting all others but our own kind. See the backwardness in that?

i will say that there aren't many countries with the same demographic makeup that exists here.

Because of that you don't see as much racism in other countries except where there is white rule.

So while racism is pretty much the realm of white people .Prejudice is rampant in every corner of the world

What you will see in almost every country in the world is classism.

You will see tribal exclusions.

you will see caste systems.

so the short answer is that oppression and exclusion based on differences other than skin color (race) is very common.

Though racism is the easiest of these to be a victim of since being identified by physical appearance is something that can't really be hidden.

Jews can change their names .People can change what they wear but you cannot change your skin color. You can pretend to come from money or that you practice a different religion or that your sexual preference is within societal norms but if your black you can't change that no matter how you live or act.

White people are really devils. They were the last race to be grafted from us. And they are the least like us. We are God, as long as we control our surroundings. The force that controls whites wants to take that from us. And all whites have a need to fill superior, to feel that they are first and that their white skin ordained them to be first. They say this over and over again in ways we see with our own eyes.

Whites are an unnatural force. Blacks are a natural force, unless we sell our soul to a white reality.

Gene, prejudice is natural

We have pre-defined opinions about the entire world around us and we act with bias.

That is human.

So the concept of prejudice is neutral

What is NOT neutral is the manifestation of prejudice.

You mentioned tribal exclusions.

I don't even think that should be brought up in a conversation about racism.

Just as our parents use exclusions to help us select a mate, or we use exclusions to select a job, I don't see exclusions as being anything negative if the intent is to bring about positive outcomes to you without being a determent to others.

So I definitely don't see tribal exclusion being in the same context as some kind of preclude to slavery.

The fact that with over 35 000 years of human history, no other group of indigenous people evolved from tribal exclusions to racism invalidates your point.

Blacks folks, at best, can only respond to racism, because it IS NOT a system they created.

Black folks can have ethnic division, practice bigotry, and even classism, but black folks cannot be racist.

Tania died in hospital on January 30, a day after being beaten up by several shopkeepers in south Delhi's Lajpat Nagar area following an argument over his appearance and clothing.

Will then, Indians of African descent, the Siddis, settled in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka ever be truly accepted as Indians? Would Ugandans, if they settled down in India, ever become citizens with full rights, just the way 12,000 Indians have in Uganda? If Indians from the Northeast are not accepted into the mainstream, does that then weaken the case for Arunachal Pradesh being an integral part of India? If indeed mainstream India is unwilling to accept the Northeasterner’s Indianness, why then is the Kashmiri’s position questioned? Is the Indian Kashmiri’s applause for Pakistan at a cricket match as much a betrayal as a resident Indian supporting the Indian team against England in England? The answers probably lie in the larger issue of who is an Indian anyway.

Many Hindus still believe that they are the true settlers of India. Muslims, they maintain, became settlers only through invasion, and Christians through missionary imposition. On the other hand, Muslims — and many Hindus — believe that cultural assimilation is the true strength of the country; while some regard aboriginals as the only original inhabitants of India. Whatever the merits of the debate, once cultural and ethnic contamination — rather than purity — is accepted as the overriding theme of Indian identity, questions of who is Indian become redundant.

Till then, Assamese women will continue to be groped on the metro; at bus stops, Mizo nurses on their way home will be seen by many passing motorists as easy prey. Africans anywhere will be presumed to be drug addicts and suppliers. The enforcing of such stereotypes is a cultural flaw, an acid test for an urban culture that oscillates between modernity, tradition and barbarity, often in the same breath. However long a Ugandan woman may live in a Delhi mohalla, or an Arunachal girl in a Bangalore suburb, they will not be invited to join the residents’ welfare association. Sadly, the stamp of “Resident Alien” is permanently fixed on their ethnicity. The Indian is an unforgiving and ruthless host, living by the rules of some imaginary past, uncomfortable in the rapidly changing present, and completely disconnected with his future in the city.
