I will take LEBRON JAMES over in his PRIME over

LMAO at Lebron ever LEADING a team to playoff series victories over teams like the bad boys Pistons or the Ewing, Oakley, Starks Knicks.

Don't get me wrong Lebron is great player, but not the greatest. Dude is really just a 2.0 version of Scottie Pippen.

Scottie is my favorite player but Lebron is better by a lot.

This was a topic on PTI.....

When asked about LBJ's current run...he reminded us that,Jordan once had a stretch of 10 triple doubles in 11 games.

2.0 Scottie pippen ? Stop smoking crack

If you going to compare Brom compare him to Magic

You forgot to mention this bout Jordan...

1st 3 Playoff appearances

1985 lost 1-3 to Milwaukee in the 1st round
1986 lost 0-3 to Boston in the 1st round
1987 lost 0-3 to Boston in the 1st round

LeBron's will was just to great to let Cleveland or Miami get SWEPT in the 1st round of the playoffs. Jordan was not good enough to come in the league straight out of Laney High at 18 years old and be the man. LeBron did just that. Jordan couldnt win a single playoff series until the Bulls pulled off draft day trades to nab Pippen & Grant. FACT. You guys only look at J after he won titles but ignore the 1st 7 years of his career. LeBron's resume at 28 is better than J's was.

Bruh look at the teams winning when Jordan came into the NBA

One man ain't beating none of those teams

Not to mention the rules were completely different and he still put up monster numbers for the stat geeks

He won when it was his time to win, when those LA, Boston, and Pistons super teams got old

I know you are a Lebron fan but don't let that cloud our judgement

Its Lebrons time now

Bruh that Boston team may have been the greatest ever. Cleveland wouldn't have got within 25 in any game

Whats crazy is I'm also a Jordan fan. Look at my location. Im an NC native. Ive met Michael's brother Larry, got Bulls jerseys, J's in my closet. Been a Bobcats season ticket holder. My judgement is not clouded. Scottie Pippen the guy who played with J and won 6 titles with him said the same shit Im saying. And dudes got emotional and piled on him.

Wow,Jordan could not beat a team with 5 Hall of Famers on it:smh:

He did have Dave Corzine and Orlando Woolridge:rolleyes:

Could he at least won a game? Sheesh. Bron wouldnt go out like that. Jordan never experienced silencing the Boston crowd and crushing their Finals hopes the way King did last playoff.

Nobody saying he's better than Jordan but seriously name someone who could do more?

On a serious note, LBJ doesn't have a skill set anywhere near Jordan, Kobe, or maybe even Pip. Athletically, we both agree, Bron is a freak of nature. However, not so much so that his natural athleticism balances out or puts him in the same league as Jordan or Kobe. Only in recent years has LBJ developed real basketball skills other than driving down the lane like a freight train and dunking. That's what I was referring to when you said LBJ will be known as the most athletic player in history based on his skills. Although he has made great strides, his bball skills, like Shaq before him, are lacking. One might argue (again similar to Shaq) with such imposing strength and athleticism that he doesn't need the full repertoire of Kobe or Jordan but we have seen time and time again its those skills (and fundamentals) that make the difference in the playoffs and NBA Finals. It's why Jordan has 6 and Kobe has 5. MJ had the benefit of Dean Smith; Kobe had the benefit of his dad and bball network growing up; who worked on LBJ's skills and fundamentals prior to the league? High school camps are cool but none of that compares to bball skill development under Dean Smith or a dad who is a pro player. Another thing is...and I know cats are going to be pissed...but it seems that Kobe and MJ have higher basketball IQs than LBJ. Now review a compilation of any of their best or most celebrated plays and see if any of what I said rings true. Most of LBJs highlights will be fast break dunks and sprinkle in some top of the key jump shots. In recent years he's added a turn around and one or two post moves.

Wize shit your ass up

Bron is a far more complete and better player than Kobe and Pip

Even you said Bron just developed post moves in recent years. We all agree Bron is a beast...a freak of nature talent...but how am I wrong about what I said based on bball skills?

Who had hopes of the Celtics going to the Finals last year??

How soon we forget...

The old men of Boston were injured...and everyone, including myself expected to it to be a short series,4 or 5 games max.

And if you can recall, the Garden was NEVER silenced...

Down 20 in game 6,with less than a minute to play...as you saw on tv,the crowd was chanting 'Lets Go Celtics'.

That's what we do here in Boston, real fans...

Sadly in your location, you have no clue what real fans do...

Perhaps if the Panthers or Bobcats ever win play-off game, you would understand the difference between winning, losing and being silenced.

Kobe is not an elite defender
Bron is
Pip was

Kobe is not a dynamic passer
Bron is
Pip wasn't

.
Bron bitched up in that series vs DALLAS and is the reason they lost. Why bron need a sports shrink to get him over the hump?

What you Boston fans do is break in Bill Russell's house and leave human feces in his bed after he won you a title because he committed the ultimate sin and moved his family into an all white neighborhood. Or throw beer and liquids on King because he just lit your old ass team up in a potential closeout game at home in the playoffs. You choke artist. You're a bunch of wild animals just like the tea party 3 centuries ago.

I can't account for what some asshole did in the 60's...or 3 centuries ago.

If you wish to remain in the past,cool...

I find life in the present great, and and the future bright.

The championship coach of the Celts is a black man,as is the governor of our great state...

We been moving on up...like George and Weezie.

:lol::lol:

LeBron entered the league at 19, Mike entered at 21. If you compare LeBron at 21 to now, and Mike during the same span. The numbers equal out to:

MJ: 32.5 ppg, 6.0 apg, 6.4 rpg, 2.7 spg
LeBron: 28.5 ppg, 7.0 apg, 7.3 rpg, 1.7 spg

So, Mike averaged 4 more points per game and a steal more, LeBron one more assist and one more rebound.

No big difference except that MJ was a more dynamic scorer.

And had already won DPOY.

Jordan went out in the first round (twice), you cant say that bout Bron. Triple double in his first ever playoff game. Did MJ do that?

Apple and Oranges. Jordan was on a one-man team playing against some of the greatest teams of all-time during the early part of his career.

Lebron finally figured it out last season and I think he's about to go IN. However, with that being said, we've all seen Lebron turn into a midget in the playoffs and in the FINALS.

michael cooper was more dedicated than most in that he would work on denial first.

That was his greatest defensive attribute. He always worked to deny his opponent that ball in the first place. Coop was an all-time elite defender.

And we've seen Jordan get swept out the playoffs and completely embarrass himself against the Magic in 95. That last game they lost at home in Chicago dude was shooting airballs and looked gassed in the 4th. Pip looked so much better than him that series. But let me be quiet, we not supposed to talk about that stuff.

the most amusing part of this thread is that some usernames commenting literally weren't even born yet when michael jordan joined the chicago bulls. others were only 3-5 years old at the time, but that doesn't stop them from commenting.

i can tell you the biggest difference between michael jordan and today's best players, and those revisionists and others attempting to play catch up with youtube (or some such) will never get it.

michael jordan taking the court was like mike tyson entering the ring. opponents were shook. players, coaches, fans. every night there was a dread that michael jordan was going to put it on you.

outside of shaquille o'neal, there hasn't been a player in the NBA since who has inspired that sort of expectation or fear.

THIS.

And he repeatedly put it on people. I can't name one player in the NBA that is feared. People respect that Kobe can get streaky, that Durant is damn near impossible to defend, that Lebron can do it all..... However, players were afraid to even look at Jordan the wrong way because they knew what time it was. Jordan just didn't beat you...he took your heart in the process and never gave it back.

now tell the whole story

now tell the whole story

That is the whole story, Nick Anderson and Penny gave Jordan that work that series. So much so, Bulls had to go and get one Mike & Scottie's BIGGEST RIVALS for "help". I remember Common rapping on that Ressurection track "Don't watch the Bulls as much, they got too many white boys!". Without Jordan teaming up with one of the BAD BOYS, he doesnt see those last 3 rings. PERIOD.

Stop with the bs. Are you talking about a player who hadn't played ball in nearly two seasons... and his numbers were still nice. Jordan got ripped from behind on one play. He didn't have a bad series.

Listen. The fact of the matter is that Jordan's playoff career is bar-none the best in NBA history statistically. The only thing more remarkable than his regular season stats are his playoff numbers. We don't even need to go there.

I do know that Lebron has a long career ahead of him, but we melted under the pressure. He's just figured it out now.

Cranrab's Jordan/Tyson analogy is a good one....

Reminded me of the season the Bulls first got by the Pistons...

Jordan put on 5-10 pounds of muscle...just to better take the Piston's pounding.

We used to physically beat on the bulls so badly that Pippen didnt even want to play sometimes. That's when he started with that migraine shit.

No need to disrespect Pip. :smh:

2.0 Scottie pippen ? Stop smoking crack

If you going to compare Brom compare him to Magic

Scottie is my favorite player but Lebron is better by a lot.

I'm from Chicago, born and raised, and watched almost every Bulls game from 1990 to 1998.

Aint no way in the world Lebron James could have lead a team to those six titles the way Jordan did.

Some of ya'll are just looking at stats or height or weight, but are missing some key components that can take a great player from being great to the GREATEST.

Intangible skills such as heart, leadership skills, toughness, the ability to make mediocre teammates look good, shut down defense, etc are things that can't be recorded in any book. Mike tops Lebron in all these categories.

The reason I compared him to Scottie was not one of disrespect, but they both have a similar style of play (with Lebron being an enhanced version) and personalities.

Both Lebron and Scottie's true position is small forward, but both of them could play 1 - 4. Both are high flyers that have amazing dunks (Unlike Magic). Both shoot/shot around 72% from the stripe (Unlike Magic). Both could put up big time points if necessary. Both preferred to be more of a facilitator and not the main man, if possible.

Both have had postseason issues (unlike Magic or Mike) and have had leadership and mental toughness questioned (unlike Magic or Mike).

Magic Johnson was a 6'9" point guard, but that was his TRUE position, even though he could play 1 - 5. Rarely did Magic want to put up huge scoring games because he was an assists king.

Lebron's style of play is closer to Scottie's more than most people realize.

I can see how you can draw the comparison. It's just that Lebron James is A LOT better than Scottie Pippen. The only thing that Pippen did better was defend the perimeter. That's it.

 its 5 pgages

go ahead and take lebron in his prime over jordan.

i'll tell you the difference right now.

jordan and lebron both in the room while you're making your selection. if you picked jordan over lebron, lebron would be gracious and say well you know that's ok and he'd go to the #2 spot and be happy he's playing with elite company.

you select lebron over jordan and jordan is there? he's going to tell you to your face you're going to pay for passing on him.

jordan's heart is as big as wilt
his will is as big as wilt
his desire is as big as wilt
his determination is as big as wilt.

skills wise there is nothing lebron could do that jordan could not.

so

that's where jordan wins

His resume is better at 28? How?

MJ won his first title at 28 (like LeBron) and his first Finals MVP as well.

By that age, MJ also had: 5 scoring titles (more than LeBron's 1), won the Defensive Player of the Year Award (LeBron hasn't won the award) and 2 MVP awards (LeBron has 3).

Also, MJ went on to win two more titles and Finals MVP awards at 29 and 30.

We'll see soon enough.

BTW, how many titles does LeBron have without D. Wade?
